The snow didn't come to anything, nice and sunny this morning. I didn't know garden centres were open Nanto and Daisy. I feel that I should be doing something with all this time I have, looking forward to getting in the garden (not sure why the printing has changed) .

Clover that sounds a lovely walk, never been to your part of the world, sounds beautiful. I hope you get your vaccination soon.

Lizzie, take care on that bike, so many cyclists on our roads now, the shops were selling out of bikes.

Nanto, love the teddy bear, I hope we will be wearing sunglasses soon.

Oma and Wee Granny, I hope you enjoy your take-away lunch.

      Good moaning each.
I haven’t posted for a while but I have popped by for a catch up now and then. I’ve not been quite the ticket.
Lizzie I really hope the young girl continues to respond to treatment. That’s so sad.
I wish all the ailing folk better, from the knees, shoulders, heads and all in between.
We have had our bedroom etc. decorated and I spent yesterday cleaning windows and slatted blinds which was an evil task. Today we clear the kitchen and utility room ready for tomorrow. Not sure how this is going to work but I’m sure it’ll be ok. We will have to wear masks indoors I think.
Now doing washing and advance cooking for the next few days. I will stop looking longingly at my book and the comfy chair and get on with it.
      Have a pleasant Sunday ladies.

Oma, we had a couple of Sunday roast takeaways from a local pub during the first lockdown. They were delicious
Grauntie, I noticed you were quiet, but had popped up on Daisy's garden thread a couple of times. Are you feeling any better? It sounds hectic at your house just now!

Frosty here, there was sun earlier bit it's dull now.
Our friends are calling for a passing doorstep chat at 3ish, so I look forward to that.
I am making a chicken casserole tonight. The chicken is still thawing out but I have prepped everything else. We will have Yorkshire puds with it, as it's Sunday

          Afternoon ladies.

Here in South Wales, on the coast ,we rarely see snow but today it has been snowing all morning! ,It is settling on the grass but on hard surfaces it is just wet. It's a treat for me to watch it falling! My twoDSs who also live in S. Wales and I keep sending pictures of our current snow situation to each other,it's that unusual!

i did the Bird Watch and was surprised to see quite a few in spite of the snow!

I'm envious of those having Sunday lunch. I can't be bothered to do it just for me.

Gem I hope you don't get too cold on your doorstep chat.Put the long johns on!

GM how lovely to have the decorating done.

Time for lunch. Now what exciting meal can I have!? Soup probabl

Lovely to hear from you Grauntie, sorry to hear you have been unwell, hope you are on the mend now. It will be lovely to get the decorating done, it is just the clearing and cleaning after that is not so appealing.

Clover, you're not kidding about the long john's I could do with some! It gets mighty chilly standing in the doorway at this time of year!

I haven't been warm since i had the jab. Got a bit of a headache and feeling tired
Can't remember the last time i had a headache.
All 3 are common side effects of the jab.
I'm even wearing my thermal top under my ordinary top.
Fortunately, still been able to carry on and get everything done.
WeeGranny, sorry to hear you were unwell after the jab.

Nanto - it's horrible feeling cold like that. Perhaps you should be resting rather than carrying on. I was talking to one of my BILs this morning. He and his OH had their jabs a week ago and they both felt very tired for two or three days afterwards.

Gem - A clever designer should come up with an entirely new type of garment for winter lockdown - a sort of walking sleeping bag to keep us warm during doorstep chats, plus a portable device to keep your mug of coffee warm while you chat and sip. Chicken casserole sounds perfect for a dismal January day.

Clover - you get the best of the snow - seeing it fall in great big fat flakes but not having to clear the drive or dig your way out to the bin.

Grauntie, I'm so sorry you've not been feeling well. Coping with decorating (unless you're super-painter, Oma) is hard work - even if someone else is actually doing it. It's hard to relax and there's all the cups of tea and coffee to make, plus moving furniture in and out of the room and all the other odds and ends of jobs that need doing like cleaning windows. Slatted blinds must the the worst job, though. You deserve a medal. I hope you haven't over-tired yourself.

Plant - the garden is quite depressing at the moment with all this rain. It's so soggy and boggy, but there are jobs that need doing. They'll have to wait until I can find my water wings.

My MIL had the same symptoms but once they went she was fine , I think its advisable to rest for a couple of days let your body recover xx

Grauntie , I love decorating but no matter how organised you are the clearing up and putting everything back is hard work , It will be harder when your not feeling 100%
I used to clean slatted blinds using damp socks on my hands

Daisy i can imagine a onsie made from Duvets with a tea pocket on the front

Clover how lovely you got snow but nice it isnt laying on paths etc , it looks so pretty though doesnt it xx

Plant nice to hear GD was feeling a little better today xx

Gem have you warmed up now , you don't feel it when your walking about but standing still at the door you will feel it xx

We have just ate our Sunday lunch and I must admit it was exceptional , all home made no aunt Betty stuff ,

Its from the local Pub , my DD's friends took it over just 4 days before the first lockdown , so to keep their heads above water they started to make Sunday lunch takeaways ,

You have to place a order the week before because they sell out so quickly , SIL had ordered ours last Sunday

To be honest 1 dinner would have fed both of us , Heaps of succulent Lamb and 8 different veg plus Home made Yorkshire puddings and big tubs of thick tasty Gravy ,

We both feel tired now we are so full
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Gosh that sounds lovely Oma, all that veg would have pleased me.

                      Thanks Daisy.

I couldn't finish my main course Oma, but OH cleared his!! Puddings are still waiting to be eaten. I feel so sorry for those in the hospitality industry, trying to keep their heads above water. The outside of the pub has a lovely marquee and play area as well as a garden and it looked so desolate today. The landlord seems to be one of the few around here doing takeaway meals and I say good luck to him. The pub in our village, which does food, has just shut their doors and not doing anything this lockdown. The other two pubs are drinking pubs. Such a shame as I can see there won't be many locals left at this rate.

Bitterly cold here, so the heating is on. Can't be bothered to light the woodburner!

Enjoy your evening ladies. I shall be watching Finding Alice later. Need a break from looking at houses especially as the ones I like are out of our price range!!!

Nan2 it does sound as though those are expected side effects for some people. I hope you feel fine soon
We had a very nice chat with our friends but all were very cold by the end of it!

Nanto - I hope the Anadins have worked and your headache has gone.

Gem - how lovely to have a chat with your friends. How is their new house getting on - do they move in soon?

WeeGranny and Oma - what fantastic lunches you've had. Good luck to those pubs and cafes who have switched to doing takeaway meals. It helps to keep them going and cheers people up to have a delicious meal cooked for them.

I've done nothing much all day - washed bedding and done a very small amount of cleaning - so I felt like cooking tonight. I did trout steaks with a herby crust, crushed buttered new potatoes and 4 veggies.

I think it will be some weeks before our friends move. They are having a lot done to the house. They are renting at present. It's about half an hour's drive away, but as they are working from home now it's not a problem. When they come over to meet workmen it's a good chance for us to meet up. We wouldn't have a valid reason to go over to them.
