You have been busy then Nan2.
I have been watching several episodes of Junior Bake Off this afternoon.
Friends knocked on the door when out on a walk. Lovely to chat to them, we miss our friends. So cold with the door open though, even with coats on! It took us a while to warm up again when they had gone. Roll on better days when they can come in, or at least into the conservatory.

Nanto clearing drawers and cupboards seem to be the lockdown favourite doesn't it but seems never ending

I have been having a long chat with my nieces and nephews on family WhatsApp group , talked about lots of stuff , what we all up too and films we have watched ,
My great niece who had Covid is back at work but she is so tired all she wanted to do this weekend is lay on the sofa watching telly .

MIL rang Her sister Ingrid who we stay with when in Germany had a call to go for her Covid jab , they told her she would be in a queue and could be there for at least 3 hours or more waiting ,
She is 83 no way was she standing in the cold that long , she said its not well organised there so she has asked for another appointment when its not so busy , she is trying to get a early morning appointment .

Oma - at least B helps with putting shopping away. J will do some of it - he juggles around things like dishwasher tablets, washing liquid, any chocolate goodies (so he knows where they are!) and a few other things, but there are some things he'll never put away, like fridge stuff, fruit and vegetables - he says he doesn't know where they go.

Enfys - 40C is certainly hotter than I'd like! I hope the fires get put out quickly.

Plant - I hope the dog gets back to his owners soon - it's awfully cold to be out all night. I like things tidy in theory. The practicalities are usually aren't quite the same though.

Gem - I bet it was good to get out for a bit.

Good morning Nan2. I love the cute kitten.
            Good morning everyone else.

Oma, that is far too long for a lady that age to stand.

The frostiest morning so far here. The sun is coming out and the forecast is good though, so at the moment we are planning to go for a walk later, when most of the frost goes.
No other plans, apart from the Whatsapp quiz with friends at 8. We are now down to only two of us who will set the quiz, so we are alternating doing that. Her turn this week, l so I will be able to take part.

            Keep safe and warm ladies.

Good morning, icy here, I have been to the second hand place to take some things, the roads were fine, only the parking place was like an ice-rink!!! The man told me they had salted it this morning, must have missed a lot!

I heard on the radio that all 90+ are getting the vaccination in their own homes today. We had a had a lot of riots in the cities, protesting about the curfew. A lot of damage.

                Morning ladies ,

Lizzie I cant understand what good causing all that damage will achieve , Burning cars breaking shop windows and destroying everything they can

All it does is cause suffering to already struggling Business's that in turn threaten jobs madness isnt it .

                Nanto lovely kitty

Good morning everyone. It's bright and sunny here but there's been a hard frost overnight and it's still very cold.

We had a disturbed night. OH woke about 4 o'clock with cramp in his leg. Nurse Daisy isn't at her best on the night shift, so it took a while to stop it hurting and to get off to sleep again. Then we were woken again about 7 o'clock with an alarm type noise. I leave my phone on the dressing table so I have to get up to turn it off when we set it. So I automatically stumbled over to it wondering why it was so loud and what on earth did we have to get up for. Anyway - it was OH's bedside clock. He must have set it accidentally! So, back to bed and Eva woke us about 9 am clearly wondering when breakfast service was kicking in!

So I'm just off for a shower etc ready to start the day. We've got to move the caravan today ready for the tree people who are coming tomorrow to cut back trees that have grown over from our various neighbours' gardens. At least it isn't raining.

Lizzie - those riots look quite violent. I suppose all countries have their share of bullying idiots who can't see that all the damage they cause is harming other people and their livelihoods. It's good the 90+ people are getting vaccinated at home - it's not fit for them to be out this weather and with all the risks of getting infected.

Gem - enjoy your walk in the sunshine, but take care. It's good that there are at least 2 of you willing to set your weekly quiz. It must be hard to come up with ideas week after week. Well done. It's lovely when friends knock on the door for a 'safe' chat, but you're right - it gets cold standing there and then the house is cold as well!

Nanto - that little kitten is so sweet.

Plant - how is your GD this morning? Sending hugs.

Oma - how awful expecting elderly people to wait outside in this weather for their jabs. Your poor great niece. I hope she was able to rest over the week-end. Do you think she's gone back to work too early?

Oma, she will either do her jigsaw, or most probably watch some sport on TV! It makes me a bit sad that she won't join in, as it is the only group thing we do with friends at the moment and in fact this group of friends were originally HER friends!! Never mind, I enjoy it.

Daisy that was a disturbed night! Those night leg cramps are agony though.

Garden looking very pretty with the sun shining on the snow. We are not expecting any more. I have cancelled my warfarin appt. this morning, even if the roads are okay now, I have to get the car out and the track will still be covered in snow. I have made another for Friday, we are expecting mostly rain this week. It is Sil's birthday today, just been in with his present but he is already working. Sil has cleared the snow from my door to the back of the garage so I can get to the freezer in there. It looks like another knitting day.

Nana has made and sent a lovely embroidery with sweet flowers and baby H's name date and weight. What a lovely thought, she is such a talented lady.

Madness to expect elderly people to stand that long, why can't they make appts. as they have here. They were posting that they were still open and giving vaccines in spite of the snow yesterday. I hope the vaccine wasn't wasted if people were unable to get there.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Daisy I think she has gone back to early but the nursery is very understaffed as 7 of the 10 staff had Covid and she felt she must go back as soon as she could ,

                            A lovely gift Plant

Daisy we both get night time cramps they can be agony , B gets them in his thigh I always get them in my toes and instep
Where will you move the Caravan too Daisy ? further up the drive or across the road ?
Is it the tree we parked under ?

Oma - I can see why your GN felt under pressure to go back to work, but there's no rest when you're working with that age group. I hope things get better soon for her.

We'll move the caravan sideways across the garage (hopefully) and park the cars over the road tonight. With all the builders next door parking's at a premium at the moment! The horse chestnut tree where you parked is the Council's responsibility. We're having the huge conifer reduced down by about 20 ft. We'd like to take it out completely and replace it with something else, but feel torn. It casts a lot of shadow into our neighbour's garden and isn't particularly good for wildlife, birds etc, but it is a good roosting site and so many evergreen conifers have been cut down round here recently I'm reluctant to take it out completely. Then our neighbours' trees down the left side are growing into our drains and eaves and hanging over our fence by 3 or 4 feet all down the back. We've got a photinia robina which needs a bit of taming as well.

We think OH is getting cramp in his leg as a side effect of the medication he takes for his COPD. It doesn't happen often, but he says the pain justifies him making a lot of noise about it, poor soul.

Plant - it sounds as though we as a country are relatively well-organised with all the vaccination centres and the appointments system. I heard somewhere that if there are shots of vaccine left over they rings whoever they can contact and invite them in immediately to use it up. It might mean someone getting their vaccination earlier than they would otherwise, but better that than wasting it.

What a lovely gift from Nana. She is very talented.
