Well my new chairs are here and they are lovely , larger than I thought but maybe that's because the other ones were narrower ,
We put the other ones on a selling site about 10 o'clock , they were sold by 10.15 and the young man came for them straight away

To be honest I thought they wouldn't go till after Christmas, so now all the jigging around putting dinning chairs upstairs we will have to bring them right back down again .

Its so dark and wet , we have never really had any light at all today , its so gloomy .

Daisy how was your friend when you dropped her off ?

Plant a waste of time then if they didn't have the stuff for your Jab , another trip to do

Avo good that Bella has settled during night for you

Mimi nice to see you too

Gem shame it was so cold for a garden visit hope you get a good visit indoors soon xxx

Oma - that was a quick trip to the hospital, but I'm relieved to hear you've got light at the end of the tunnel. You'll need all your strength if your MIL is upset about her sofa. (Sorry, that sounds horrible, I don't mean it seriously!) Fantastic selling those chairs in 15 minutes, but I bet they were like new.

Plant - it must be 'one of those days' - your medication not being ordered, and my DS got a text from the hospital saying where are you - they'd brought his appointment forward by an hour but had forgotten to tell him!

My friend was ok -ish. She said her legs felt like jelly and she had very little sleep, and then had a nightmare. I've passed on all your earlier messages to her and she said thank you to everybody. It was really busy outside the hospital and I had to park on a box junction for her to get out of the car but I could have cried when I watched her trudging off to the entrance - a tiny, lonely looking figure.

Gem - what an unexpected treat to see your friends for an impromptu cuppa. It was bitterly cold this morning so a good job you had blankets etc at the ready.

Mimi - thank you! I hope you're ok and the busy has been nice-busy. Look forward to a proper catch up when you have chance.

Avo - it lifts my spirits to picture your beautiful Bella! What a good little girl going through the night so quickly. She must be very settled and contented with you. You did well to get a Sainsbury's Christmas slot - I think they were snapped up very quickly, but they released theirs later than the other main supermarkets.

OH got back from the tip just as I was leaving to collect M. He was the first one there so was able to get right by the garden waste bin, which was what most of the rubbish was. He now had a headache though and is shattered. It was bright but bitterly cold and he had let the trailer get very full. You can only have one person unloading and they won't help in any way, so it was quite hard work. He forgets he's not quite as young as he used to be, bless him.

I got back just after 11, and made hot chocolate to warm up - any excuse. I made a pan full of vegetable soup for lunch and some left over for tomorrow, had a chat with the friend who's going to look after M when she comes home, and am now catching up here. Oh and I did the Sainsbury's order as well. It's all go!

It's going dark now, but the Forest looked like a winter wonderland this morning, sparkling with frost and the sun shining in a clear blue sky. I'm going to put my feet up and read till tea-time.

Oma, pleased you are happy with your new chairs, lucky day for that young man. I do hope that injection helps you with the pain.

Daisy that must have been hard for you dropping your friend off, hope it all goes well for her. They are not helping at our tip but I only have paper and card when I go. I have so many bits and bobs of veg. I need to make some soup.

Lovely aqua class, I feel relaxed and tired. Very foggy all day, fortunately I got back before dark.

Your poor friend Daisy It's hard enough being left in the waiting room as I was, but at least OH could walk with me into there and wait a few minutes until a nurse came for all of us on the list that day.
The main thing is she has hopefully now had her surgery, and the cancer is gone and she can begin her recovery.

I bet aqua did you good Plant. I am determined to find a class next year. I do miss it.

Speaking of Sainsburys etc, we have a click and collect next Monday , 14th. After that the closest to Christmas I could get was the Friday of that week. I tried all supermarkets. I will probably cancel that as it's not near enough for anything fresh. We will just get up early maybe on 23rd and go for last minute things.

              Good morning.

Daisy, how sad that your friend had to go in by herself. Hope she is ok.

Oma, well done for selling the chairs quickly.
We once advertised something for sale that went straight away. Can't remember what it was now.

Have a good day and stay safe and warm.

Nan2 I like your showering flower

Daisy I hope your friend is OK.
                Thinking of your sister, Lizzie.

Reflexology for me this morning. We are then going to lunch at our favourite cafe in the village. Good to support them, and it will be nice to eat out again.
I have almost finished present wrapping so will get on with that this afternoon, and maybe make mince pies and get those into the freezer.

Take care everyone, and have a good day.

                  Good Morning Nanto / Ladies
Anything planned for today Nanto ?

Its a fine morning but cold , we have been to Aldi and now back having a hot drink and a potter on here

Man in Aldi fighting with checkout girl as he had a pile of these Kevin the Carrot plush toys and she was telling him its only two per customer ,
He went on ridiculous screaming and shouting and swearing at her , In the end a couple of the men from the stock room came out and escorted him out the store , then he had the nerve to say well I will just have two then as he was heading for the door .
I wont tell you what one of the lads told him to do but the second word was off

What is it with these toys ? its all hype isnt it , but for a grown man in his late 60's to go on like that was just unbelievable .
The poor girl was shaking , There is a big sign saying two per customer so he had no excuse .

I bought Storm a load of new toys and treats I might have gone overboard but couldn't resist

How are we all today and what is everyone up to today ? i will pop back later to see xxx

Good morning everyone. Nanto - your showering flower made me laugh.

Plant - your comment about aqua yesterday reminded me why I need to find a class! It's that tired but relaxed feeling I love, and I like swimming anyway.

Gem - the nearest delivery to Christmas I got was Monday, 21st but as we're not here for Christmas Day, that is ok. I've also got one next Tuesday evening, so we won't starve! Don't you always end up with too much, though! We do. Enjoy your day - reflexology and lunch out sound lovely.

Oma - who on earth is Kevin the Carrot? Whatever the craze is, it's totally passed me by. I sometimes think I live on a different planet! But what a stupid, rude man, and old enough to know better! He should be banned from the shop completely. I'm sure Storm will love all his presents.

It was an early start for us (by our standards) for the Sainsbury's delivery. So I'm just off to have a shower and give the bathroom a good clean.

I'll write about M on 'her' thread.

Oma, you do see some strange people in your supermarket. How awful for the check-out girl to have to deal with him.

                      Gemini, enjoy your reflexology.

                      Nanto, love the showering flower.

Daisy, I hope your friend is rested after her op.

Aqua was lovely yesterday, the pool was lovely and warm. Lack of proper changing rooms is a bit difficult but we manage. It was very foggy driving back. Oma, I thought of you, I went to spend a penny during the class and I couldn't get my costume back on. After a struggle, the class teacher came in and asked if I was okay and she helped me pull it on, I will not do that again. Usually I go before I get into the pool.

No fog today thank goodness, I am going to deliver my local cards and get stamps for the others but I need to get showered and dressed first. I should have been going down to Cornwall today, the GC will be on their way now. DS is enjoying his birthday down in Sennen Cove.

Plant - I wonder why you thought of Oma when you couldn't get your wet costume back on!

It's such a pity you couldn't go to Cornwall this time, but there will be others, and better to be safe and well. I hope your DS has a lovely birthday.

                          Morning all.
                          How is everyone.

We have been busy these last few days. Its hard to say looking around here what actually we have done , but what with general tiding up, and sorting out paper work, part of which was finding a good quote for our home/ contents insurance which is due for renewal. After what seemed like a lifetime getting quotes from several companies we have decided to stay with our current supplier. If we did swap we were only going to save about £1.50 on our 12 month contract. Hardly worth the hassle 🙄. All that time wasted
We have posted all the Christmas cards . Just need to sit back now and wait for the Christmas cards from people I have forgotten to land on our doorstep. We have had a lovely one from the Royal British Legion thanking us for our donation which I think is really nice .

Oma , honestly some people. Fighting over Kevin the carrot. If only that was all we had to worry about. If it wasn't for the supermarket and shop staff where would we be , they have kept on working through all this hell and chaos these past 9 months. That man should be thanking them not shouting at them.

I have a wonderful afternoon planned, I'm going to clean the cooker , now stand back ladies I know you want to come and help but I insist on doing it myself!

                          Keep safe everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I had a nice chat with my reflexologist while I had my treatment.
Then OH and I walked into the village for lunch at our favourite cafe. It was very quiet, in a cafe you usually have to queue for at lunchtime in normal times. A combination of having to have the door open which doesn't make it cosy (but of course admirable that they are doing the right thing) and only people from the same households being able to be together inside are keeping numbers down. There were two mums, one with twin babies and one of with one baby. They got around it being being at separate table and chatting across the gap So sad for these small businesses. Hopefully things will improve soon.

Oma, GS1's friend has a houseful of those Kevin toys! What a nasty rude man, he needs banning from the shop.
Hopefully the next vaccine to come out will suit you. I'm penicillin allergic so maybe I wont be able to have it either? I don't have an epipen though.
Plant you need a tankini, then you just have to get the bottoms back up!
We have used all our stamps Mimi, so if any unexpected cards drop through our door we will have to buy more
