We are very busy with a mix of school work and fun, I will be back this evening.

Funny at lunchtime as GS2, the fussy eater of the family declared he didn't like mini pizzas ( never tried them, loves pizza) and where were his sandwiches?! I told him we were having a change from sandwiches today. Predictably once he tried them he loved them!

Hello everyone. No snow here. I think we're about the only part of the country where it's quite mild. Showery and dull, but that's all.

We trundled off to the hospital this morning for J's eye appointment expecting the roads to be nearly empty and ditto the nearest car park. DIL2 had taken GD2 for her check up there two days ago and she said everywhere was really quiet. Things change! There was a long traffic jam because of road works (well one lane coned off, but no activity) and the car park we use had turned into a building site. Anyway we got there in time. I waited for OH in the car and read my book. On the way to meet him afterwards I met the Hawks in the Forest man - he was working with a young peregrine-like bird (I didn't catch the breed of it) and it's always fascinating to have a chat with him. I didn't see the bird working today, though.

OH is tired and his eye is quite painful so he's getting cosseted by Eva - he only got tea and toast from me! Oma - I'll pass on your hug - many thanks, it will definitely cheer him up. xx

I had real problems with what day it was today because the milk didn't come! I actually switched the tv on to check it was Thursday. I can now see our neighbour's has been delivered but not ours, and the website is down. Fortunately we're not short.

Mimi - what a scary thing to happen to your DS. Thank goodness he was ok. I've never been to The Range - I should put it on my bucket list, along with B&Q, the Garden Centre, the theatre, the cinema and all the other places that are either closed or risky these days.

Oma - my goodness, one good night's sleep and you're off cleaning everything in your path. Still, good to hear you're feeling better for the sleep. xx

Gem - I'm glad you didn't have to go out to get the children. It's ok driving in snow but when it's still falling you don't know how deep it's going to get. I hope you're having a good day with them.

Nanto - I do hope mum and dad are ok today. xx Is it still snowing for you?

Plant - I hope the roads were ok for you for your shopping. How are GD and Harriet today? I hope everything is going well and GD has been able to relax a bit and just enjoy her little bundle of joy. She looks so sweet. xx

Your poor OH Daisy. I've only had one eye injection. It worked for me but was thrilled I didn't need another. Will they stop for him any time?

OH puts little boots on our dog for snowy walks. It's hilarious to watch at first, but he soon adapts.

Nana my Poppy has those little boots they stop her furry feet getting dirty and wet I must admit though she is not too pleased with them.
This morning has been bed changing day for me I picked the pale green quilt out of the cupboard and sheet but I couldn't find the pillow cases so every drawer under the bed was searched to no avail until I looked in the bottom drawer in the wardrobe where they where hiding from me so all resolved in the end thank goodness whilst searching I found 2 x more quilt sets I had forgotten about so have just put them in washer to freshen them up.

The weather here is very mild but we have had drizzle all day and it is forecast for tomorrow as well.

My DD has to extend her isolation period by 5 days as the 3 people who sit next to her in her office have tested positive personally I think the Company should be closed down for now but the Directors won't hear of it they say their procedures are 100% safe,it is a Govenment contract that he has for NS&I (premium bonds) and he just won't listen.

My next door neighbour goes for her first jab tomorrow so I may follow soon expected about mid February the sooner the better for me,it will give some peace of mind.

Sorry, not been on much today. Been a bit busy.
In laws are ok. Mam is sore and in a bit of pain, but she is ok in herself.
We walked out in the snow this morning to the chemist, to get their meds.
Got them some milk. She is now on the antibiotics for her leg.
I'm certain its cellulitis, because i have a friend with it,and it looks and feels the same.
Came home and made dinner. Hubby hot footed it take them some dinner.
It's a good job they are only a couple of streets away. It was quicker for him than trying to go in the car.
We've been back this afternoon. I gave her a good wash and changed her nightie.
Said it made feel more comfortable. Just rung mam to see if she has remembered to take her antibiotics.

Rang my sister in law who lives in Wigan,to tell her whats been happening.
Had a lovely natter with her.

Daisy, yes its still snowing. Hope OH's appointment went well.

Nanto, you are an amazing Daughter in Law, I can imagine how lovely it was for your MIL to have a wash and a clean nightie.

Nana - OH will keep getting the eye injections as long as they are working. He used to go every month, but now it's every 2 months. He hasn't seen a consultant for over a year, but at that stage he said that the 'lake' of fluid was now more like a 'puddle'. His vision is fine too, so if it's keeping the Macular Degeneration in check it's worth the discomfort.

Nanto - you and your OH are so good to your mum and dad. I'm glad your mum is on the mend, and I'm sure she felt better for your TLC today. How much snow have you got now?

Glamma - I think doggy bootees are good for the icy weather, especially if they have to walk on roads/pavements that have been salted. At the moment I'm putting Eva's coat on her every time we go out, not so much for warmth, but to keep her dry and try and give what protection I can from Alabama Rot. She's got a lovely cosy Equafleece which isn't totally waterproof but goes on like a jumper and covers most of her front legs and all her tummy. It keeps her dry and clean. She seems to like wearing it as well. I do hope your DD is ok. It sounds as though work needs to be kept safer if they really do have to work in the office rather than at home. I hope you get your jab soon.

It is my GS2's 16th birthday today and his mum and dad organised an online party room for him, which I think he enjoyed. Don't the years fly by though!

Gem - I had to smile at your GS2 and the mini pizzas - it's on a par with cutting a sandwich the 'wrong' way. I'm glad he ate up in the end.

Daisy, as you know my auntie has those same injections every 10 weeks or so, they are not a one off. Not fun but worth it for the benefits.
I remember you talking about Alabama Rot last year. It must be a worry for dog owners.
Nan2 I agree with Plant, you are such a good DIL.

The snow turned to rain which melted the snow, so we didn't get any snowmen made!

Good morning. We have a good 4 inches of snow, and its a bit foggy this morning.

Plans for today, are to go to in laws. Hubby will come round later to clear the drive off.
Not that the oldies will be going anywhere, but their drive slopes down,so it will make it safer for us visitors.
I may get a day off from in laws tomorrow. I don't mean that as awful as it sounds.

Daisy, pleased the eye injections are doing their job for OH. Every 2 months is better than every month.

Good morning Nanto and that cheeky snowy owl
It is deep where you are isnt it ,
Ours like Gems has washed away although the roads are icy ,

Neither of us slept last night so we took ourselves off to TESCO for 6.30 back in the house by 7.30 madness I know

Apart from the on line shopper packers we were the only ones in , it was so quiet they had to open a till for us when we had finished hahaha.

Daisy Storm doesn't wear a coat as he is double coated but like all Husky's he does like to feel a weight around him ,
DD thinking about getting weighted Panniers for when they walking .

Hope GS has a wonderful Birthday , isnt it sad they cant have normal ones at the moment xx

Gem shame no snowman making but there is forecast snow next week so maybe then

Glamm I agree they should be closing and working from home , Its for the good of all who work there isnt it ,

My Great Niece who tested positive is feeling so much better , she said last night the worst part now is the fatigue she could sleep for days she said ,

Plant any news from GD ? another day or two and fingers crossed they can come home xx

Good morning Nan2, you have had a lot of snow! Good morning ladies.

Our snow has all gone and there is fog this morning.
Nan2, you really deserve a day off. Much as I miss mum and wish I could see her, I haven't forgotten who hard it was looking after her the last couple of years. We love them and do the best for them, but we have our own health and needs to think of too.

We had a lovely day yesterday. The house is so full of life and laughter on the childcare days and meals to prepare and eat together etc, a contrast to the rest of the week.
No plans today. We are going to start sorting out the Christmas stuff to go into the loft over the next couple of days. One bedroom is full of it, and next Thursday GS1 needs to sleep in that room whilst his parents move house!

Keep warm and safe everyone. Keep smiling. Winter and lockdown don't seem to bring much to make us happy, but we have to try

I'm so glad your great niece is feeling better. C and P said the fatigue lingers a long time.

Good morning ladies. It's our day of excitement - bin day!

OH is still in bed so I'm getting the bags ready so he's only got to carry them out. I meant to do it last night but I was too tired. So I'd better get on with that and pop back for a proper chat later.

Nanto - just think what an amazing snowman you could make with all that lovely white fluffy stuff. xx We've had a bit of frost and its a bit chilly but otherwise ok.

Gem, I was going to ask if your GD had moved house. Now I know. Yes, I know how it is with children in the house, so happy, eating etc, I do miss that!!!!!!

It is dull here, yesterday we had a bitter cold wind, I have a neighbour , she is never cold, she goes out in her jumper on the coldest days, yesterday she actually said it was cold so it must have been! I did get out for a bike ride and that was it.

Yes Lizzie, this Tuesday they were suddenly given the moving date of next Thursday so it's all go and panic stations! GS will go to DD2 on Wednesday and us from Thursday to Friday sometime, give them time to get on with moving!
Be careful out there on the bike it it's icy.
