    Morning Nanto and all.

A bad day forecast weatherwise with winds of up to 50 mph!

Mimi I was with you early yesterday to get a Tesco Christmas slot. I logged on at 6.45 and was in a queue then on the dot at 7 the site sprang into life and I had my pick of slots.

Not a lot to report this end. I went to help my ladies with the cleaning yesterday. As one of them sits in a chair all day ,only moving when her carers come she feels the cold so the house is always very warm. I make sure I wear a t-shirt under a cardigan so I can that the cardi. off and work without getting heatstroke 😀

I’m expecting another delivery today. The couriers are certainly busy these days .
A quick dash to get a paper before the wind gets up and then a go with the flow day

Hope everyone has a good day.

      Good morning ladies.

Nanto - not much chance of sun and rainbows here today, either. It looks like rain, rain and then probably some more rain!

Clover - I bet you feel like flinging the windows open at your ladies' when it's that hot!

A good day to catch up with some indoor jobs.

I don't even know when Sainsburys release their Christmas delivery slots. Perhaps I should check.

Stay dry those of you who are venturing outside.

It was a old neighbour we hadn't seen for years he had passed us at the bottom of the street and seen us so pulled behind us to say hello ,

          Morning dear ladies

Nan2, a cheerful morning pic when its grey and raining outside is very welcome
Good idea to wear layers to clean as the house is so hot there Clover. We don't want you with heatstroke!
Oma those unexpected in the car chats are what passes for a social life these days!

It was so good to catch up with DD2 yesterday, released from her 14 days of NHS app induced quarantine. Both the friends in the same boat were glad to get out yesterday too. She and the children didn't leave here until 7.25! OH was cooking, so I went up and changed into PJ's for a nice meal and night of TV.

No plans today at the moment. Tomorrow we plan to take GS1 out for a couple of hours so will do a bit of research today.

Have a good day everyone. We are almost halfway through the lockdown month.

I just has a phone call from mums care home to say two staff members have tested positive for covid. Mum and the other residents are fine atm, so fingers crossed it remains so. They had done so well so far with no cases at all.

No plans today, not dressed yet. I have been on-line sorting out presents, getting there. Had an online chat with Dil. they are hoping their Cornwall holiday goes ahead, they go the day after lockdown is supposed to be lifted.
We have two large grammar schools, and a large catholic school in our local town, all very close to each other, GD1 and partner happened to drive pass them just as they were all leaving. They said it was like the gates being opened after a football match. Hundreds of teenagers crowding the pavements, social distancing was impossible. Why don't they stagger the finishing time of schools close to each other?

Plant, I think they do stagger the leaving times at a lot of schools here, I know they do it at DD2 and there is a large school near here and they seem to leave in smaller groups.

                  Afternoon all

DiL has just visited, well when I say visited, she stood in the garden with umbrella in one hand and a coffee ( brought from McDonald's drive through) in the other while we stood in the front door way. It was nice to have a chat to someone other than OH and the cat !

Gem hope your mum is OK

Clover its a small world, both sat at stupid o'clock in the morning trying to do some grocery shopping. Never in a million years would anyone have guessed that we would be in this horrible situation.
Good to see that you have be able to get a slot. We now have all of November and December booked with weekly deliveries.

                  Have a good weekend everyone

Rainy and dull, so we’ve lit the log burner, it’s hard to believe that last Saturday I was sitting on the beach before leaving for the airport! It would be nice to go out for a walk or something but still confined to house and garden. Our next door neighbours went and got fish n chips last night and kindly collected some for us. We’ve done FaceTime with all the grandsons too. 😊

You are grateful for any human connection Mimi, I had a doorstep conversation with a guiding friend yesterday, I had something I needed to drop off to her.

Supermarket shopping was done this morning. Called at in laws on the way home, to deliver their shopping.
I was straight in and out, hubby was waiting in the car. We had ice creams and frozen items amongst the shopping.

Came home, had a cuppa, and i know hubby was itching to get on with a couple of jobs.

This little bear was made for me by a lovely lady on here.....Nana you are amazing. She made it from one of Peter’s shirts. She also made two cushion covers for DD and DS. Such kindness.

                          edited....managed to add the photos.

Nana - what a talented lady you are - and the cushion covers are a lovely idea. The little bear is so cute - even to having a little button nose.

Plant - I hope your family's holiday can go ahead. We all need something nice in our lives at the moment. It must be quite unnerving seeing so many youngsters all together like that! The college in our village has about 3,000 students, and going home time isn't so bad as finishing times are naturally staggered because students can go home when their lessons for the day have finished. But in the mornings the sea of teenagers walking down from the station has to be seen to be believed. Trains from both directions seem to arrive at the same time, which doesn't help. But at least the times are regular so hopefully most people can avoid the busy periods.

Mimi - I agree. It's lovely to see other people! Friends of our dropped off an earring I'd lost at their house before lockdown and they called to drop it off and ask after DS1, so we had a doorstep chat. It feels so unnatural not to invite people in for a coffee though.

Oma - how lovely to see your friends, too.

Gem - glad to hear DD2 is back to what we now think of as normal, but I'm so shocked to hear about staff testing positive at mum's care home.

The pinger's just gone on my chicken casserole - I'd better go and check on it.
