I can't keep up with your all today, been nice here but duller now. I have been out and about for my fruit and veg.

A neighbour was clearing his shed and taking things to the tip so I asked him if he would take something for me, it was a huge wooden box thing and has gone now, he was surprised at how big my shed is compared to his, it is as well and there are a few even bigger.

Enfys, your GD will be pleased with her new job. Well done with getting all the jobs done before the winter.

Gem, I hope the plumber gets the radiator fixed, I can fix a tap, a few years ago we had a boiler fitted and the water can get hot, the GD's slept here often at the time and I was worried when they had a shower, I always told them not to touch the taps after I had switched it on. A neighbour was telling me that she had a thermostatic tap fitted for the same reason, so, I bought one and got it fixed up. I sent a photo to DS2 and he answered " nice tap mother", I told him it wasn't the tap I wanted him to see but the fact that I had fixed it. I did have to get a neighour to do my kitchen tap as I can't be on my knee's for any length of time.

Daisy, I hope you get your trailer emptied, I was pleased the neighbour took the box thing.

Glamm, I don't get many calls, I won't mention the mails I am still receiving though.

Well im back but i wont be going to Ikea for a while it was too stressful .
We went to Metro centre first while it was quiet ,

Just through the doors and there was our friends standing ( SIL's Parents) so had a chat with them and then onto the Sketchers shop where i bought 2 pairs of Sketchers plain black for the winter , we then went into Super drug and i bought two Mascaras and a lash conditioner its was 3 for 2 offer

We then went over to Ikea, said to B just stop in car i will be back shortly just want Napkins , boy was i wrong

Got in and it was packed , they had everything taped off so no short cuts through the store i had to follow the hoards of shoppers keeping my distance all through the different departments , a couple in front were going at a snails pace so after 10 minutes i pushed past them so did a few behind me ,

Then came to the short cut door that takes you straight to the checkouts , it was locked
Had to go up the stairs and through all the departments up there to come back down through the warehouse to the checkouts .

Got in the line and they are only taking payment by card no cash , lots of big signes all around the store telling you that , but one customer in front had not seen them ,
Put over £ 200 pounds worth of stuff through and then said she didnt have a card with her it was in her car

So security had to stand with her stuff till she went out to get her card ,
in stead off ringing it off and letting others through we were all moved to another till

By this time i was really stressed no one was keeping a distance everyone bumping into each other ,

I got back to the car , B said god that took a long time i was about to come looking for you

Last time im going for a long time , then i will be going for the doors opening , im tired and grumpy now

I have been on my own so long Gem I have to do things!!!

Oma, that sounds like a hellish visit to Ikea, I haven't been here since this all happened, I did plan to go once and the queue put me off and I ordered to pick it up there. A man from the gym goes for breakfast with his wife, said it is nothing like it was, I wouldn't bother.

Lizzie you have to book a table in this one , one of the guards on the door was telling someone they were booked till 1pm

Passed the restaurant and half the tables gone so im not surprised .

I am not sure how it works here. Just had a look, we don't have to book but as you said, half the tables have been removed, we can get a good breakfast for just €1,25, that makes it popular. Just read that they are not doing the regular breakfasts at the moment. Just from the buffet.

Oma, what a stressful trip to Ikea.

We've had a lovely couple of hours with GD1 and her hubby.
Would love to see them more often, but they both work long hours, and we wouldn't want to take all their free time up.

Oma - I hope you got enough napkins to last for at least 5 years! I hope there wasn't a stampede for them though, like loo rolls and pasta!

Nanto - how lovely to spend some time with your GD1 and her OH. It's difficult when they work such long hours and I think you're very considerate. The thing I hated when both OH and I were working long hours was not having time or energy to see people - especially as most of our family live in North Wales. You feel torn, but it's great you don't put pressure on them.

Now we've moved the living room round we need a smallish rug - probably a round one. I've just had a look on JL website and everything I like is either out of stock or only available in stores like Norfolk or Scotland!

I hope everybody's taps and radiators are now fixed and working.

Oma, that sounds like a nightmare, your visit to Ikea.

My GGS is having to isolate as a child in his class has tested positive. Was hoping to see them today as usual on a Wed. But my GS1 took the day off.

Oma, we're waiting for a chap getting back to us with a quote for new windows.
Our neighbours had him a few weeks ago,and they were well pleased with his work.

Good morning. It’s very grey here, we’ve already had some rain and I think there’s more to come.

Ive had two very good workmen here this week, so pleased to have those jobs out of the way. Lots of visits from GD before she goes off at the weekend to her new job. She had two job offers, but chose the one nearer to home and the chef she liked working with the most. She is very excited.

So apart from making lots of tea for the workers ( I like to keep them happy), I’ve been knitting like mad, sorting out cupboards..again... and generally been quite busy. I have an easy day today so am going to be lazy and just potter.

Hope you all have a good day ☔️💧
