Plant, it was part of the North Sea . I have just copied this.

The Afsluitdijk is a major dam and causeway in the Netherlands. It was constructed between 1927 and 1932 and runs from Den Oever in North Holland province to the village of Zurich in Friesland province, over a length of 32 kilometres and a width of 90 metres, at an initial height of 7.25 metres above sea level.

Such good news Plantaholic your DGD getting the keys for their flat,I agree about a deep clean its for the best,so all hands on deck.
Its so funny with the garage one lot in and another out does it have revolving doors ?

Yesterday I had quite a productive afternoon with selling stuff on FB all from my clear out on Tuesday so another £42 into my Dog Charity box when they open again so quite good I thought.

I had a beautiful walk this morning through the park with the intention of maybe seeing my little GD playing on the swings with her mummy but they must have been and gone, what I did see where loads of snowdrops which where just beautiful,my miniture daffs are starting to show through in my back garden so bring on summer time when I can sit out in the garden.

Thinking of bringing out the ironing board this pm and attacking the quits I have to press there are 2 x kingsize to press and the idea is daunting to say the least

Enjoy the rest of the day don't do anything too physical xx

I can't cope with ironing my kingsize duvet covers now Glamm, so I carefully fold them, put them in the airing cupboard and smooth out the creases when on the bed.

I have been to the flat, it is very nice and a good size. GD's partner put the new bed together but there are no blinds or curtains so will not be sleeping there yet. It was nice and clean with neutral colour carpets and walls. It is on an amazing landscaped estate and they have a nice outlook towards a large lake with ducks.. Only drawback is that it only has one parking space and they patrol the estate to check for naughty parkers. DD did a bit of cleaning, sanitizing the door handles, telephone etc. I had the pleasure of nursing baby H. They had been storing some wardrobes and white goods in the garage here but as they had only seen the flat once, they didn't notice it had built-in wardrobes and white goods, so they are still in the garage here. Perhaps GS2 and his partner might use them

Glamm - I love the idea of Plant's family garage having revolving doors. You've done very well for your local dog charity, and I' sure they will be delighted. What a pity you missed your little ones in the park, but it sounds like a lovely day there to get out and about.

Plant - the flat sounds great, and very well organised. Won't baby H love going to see the ducks when she's a bit older! Did you enjoy your cuddle with her? (Silly question!)

Glamm and Oma - if I press king-sized duvets I only press one side. I fold it in half and just press the upper surface, turn it over and press the rest of the upper surface. I only do it sometimes if they've been dried outside and have got very creased for some reason. Smoothing them out on the bed works very well, so does covering them with a furry throw!!

Plant. OH irons the duvet covers. If I lived alone I would only iron for any guests, not myself!
How lovely that you got a lovely cuddle with baby H.
Although seeing your family would have been better Glamma, seeing spring flowers certainly lifts the spirits doesn't it?

We had a nice surprise this afternoon. A knock on the door and it was DD1 and GS1. They had gone for a walk and decided to walk here. Such a novelty for them as they lived so far away until recently! They brought flowers and doughnuts. I was feeling a bit down so it did me good. Unlike DD2, DD1 doesn't come in when she drops GS off, and SIL picks him up so it was a treat to see her for a while. Not long after they left another knock on the door. This was a friend dropping off jigsaws for OH to borrow. We had a few minutes chat on the drive. I then went for a bath and 2 other friends knocked for a chat while passing. I missed that one of course!
We have also played Scrabble, and I watched some TV upstairs while OH was watching snooker.
Another day almost gone. I think we will all be feeling a little more positive after Monday. I hope so.

                  Evening All.
Lovely day here. I dried bedding and towels outside and will iron (one side) tomorrow. I have put succulents out of my shed/greenhouse now. I had to evict several mice from the shed and I feel very mean but they had made an awful mess of various plants and boots and kneeling pads etc. There was even a nest in a box of bonemeal!

Daisy, I did as you suggested. The knitting machine is packed away and now advertised for sale and I am happy! I’m looking forward to doing some hand knitting now.
                  Lizzie, those photos are amazing!
Glam, I’m trying to sell some bits on Facebook marketplace, people keep messaging but nobody is buying. I think I’ll have to decamp to EBay.
Plant, never a dull moment in your house! How lovely to have a cuddle with baby H.
Gem it’s a long time since I played ‘proper’ scrabble. The joy of an online game is that you can take as long as you need to make a move.😁

Grauntie! I feel guilty that I've been the one to persuade you to abandon your knitting machine!! Well done getting washing dried outside. I could have washed mine outside today!

Gem - I iron duvet covers properly for guests! Now, form an orderly queue, ladies! What a lovely day of surprises you've had, and OH now has some new jigsaws to do. A good day.

GD's partner doesn't let the grass grow under his feet, he ordered some curtains from Dunelm click and collect then went to the flat and hung them so they can move in tomorrow. I shall miss them although, I think as they are so close, we shall be seeing GD and baby H quite a bit.

Good morning, I can hear the birds singing so they have survived the cold last week.

I never iron my bedding, maybe used to, I have a bedspread to that covers the creases. Friends of mine have an ironing machine specially for their bedding.

Plant, they certainly move fast to get into their flat!

Grauntie, a good idea to sell the knitting machine if you can't get used to it. Do they sell well? Yes the photo's of the ice are good, unbelievable really that everyone was skating last weekend and now +15 degrees.

Gem, you would enjoy the day with all the visitors.

If I have missed any news, sorry. I want to go for a bike ride early before the crowds get out and about, it will be busy with racing cyclists but I can cope with them!

                          Good morning. Mild again.

                          Lizzie,the photos are stunning.

Beef dinner today. Hubby asked if we could have mash instead of roast potatoes.

A few jobs to do,to keep us out of mischief.

                            Good morning ladies.

Plant, I'm sure your GD, OH and baby will be happy in their new home. Lovely that it's not far away, and I'm sure you will see lots of them.
Nan2, mash with a roast is always my choice! I like the cheerful seaside graphic
I hope you enjoyed the early bike road Lizzie.

Today we need to go my mum's to turn down the heating and generally check things. We didn't get there yesterday.
On the way back we will call on friends C and P, to do a jigsaw swap. If C is feeling OK we can have doorstep chat with them. She had bad night after the jab (a bit like Oma's B did ) but was OK again yesterday.
No other plans as far as I know

                            Have a good Sunday everyone

Good morning ladies , lovely cheerful graphics ladies

A lovely sunny morning here , not as cold either ,

Gem S will have plenty of Jigsaws to see her through the week now
Hope everything is fine at your Mums house ,
C has had a rough ride hasn't she but her first jab is over by time second one comes around fingers crossed the Covid after symptoms will be less xx

Lizzie enjoy you bike ride xx

Plant well at least he is getting on with things and taking some strain and worry off your GD good for him

Grauntie , I think if you don't get on with something get rid of it otherwise it will niggle away at you , that's what I did with mine

I Iron all my bedding and it takes forever then its creased by the next day

My next bedding set im looking for a all over pattern so you don't see as many creases .

I have dusted through this morning and had a hot shower but very slowly ,
I must have been laying awkward during night as I can hardly move for backpain this morning ,

I know I haven't pulled it unless I have turned during night sharply , but as I can only lay on my right side or back at the moment I cant see how I could have

                              It must be just twisted

Have a good day ladies i will pop back xx

Just had my text to get first Jab so booked for Wednesday Tea time 17.50

Good morning one and all. Yes, Oma - lovely cheery graphics, and it's not raining here. A good day already!

Nanto - mash makes a nice change, and as I commented elsewhere useful for stopping your peas falling off the fork. Enjoy. How are your in-laws? I hope they're ok.

Plant - good news for your GD1 and her partner. I'm sure they will settle down very quickly in their new home, and you will still see lots of them and baby H. I'm sure all us grannies wish them every happiness. xx

Lizzie - I imagine you're back from your early morning bike ride by now. Racing cyclists here can be quite scary, they go so fast.

Gem - S will be happy to have new jigsaws to tackle. I do hope your friend C is ok now. Even going over to your mum's is a trip out these days, isn't it! It's certainly warm enough to turn the heating down a bit.

Oma - can I ask why you've dusted right through the house when your back is so painful! Do take it gently until it eases up. xx

No plans again for us today, apart from taking Eva out.
