Oma, the only thing i had planned was a trip to the post office, and that is only 2 short streets away.
Just been the usual kind of day, cooking, cleaning, went on the internet and watched a bit of tv.
We have made plans for Saturday though. We will go to the farm shop first for a browse and a coffee.
Then on to the garden centre for a browse and a meal, and on our way home we will go to the Asda. Exciting eh.

Gem nice for you to have a meal out.
I'll be stocking up with stamps as they are going up on January 1st.

I've just realised we won't be able to eat in the garden centre,as we are in Tier3.
Just checked online and they are doing a take away service.

Somehow or other, Kevin the Carrot has passed me by! Once again, I think I inhabit a different planet, but I really cannot understand why Aldis think the Christmas feast with all the goodies you can think of is improved by several rather tatty-looking carrots lurking round the turkey!

I wonder what people actually do with them - the Kevin ones, I mean.

Oma - if you can't have this vaccine because of your allergies I hope one of the others in the pipeline will be ok. Gem - hopefully your penicillin allergy won't be a problem if there's no penicillin or similar components in the Covid vaccine. Fingers crossed for you and all allergy sufferers.

Plant - Gem's idea of a tankini is a good one. I've bought them for years and find them very comfortable, easy to wear and perfectly safe for swimming in, compared with my younger years when I would often lose half my bikini under water!

I intended to get more cards written today, but my thumb is still hurting and handwriting makes it worse. I'll have to do just a few at a time, which I find harder. I like to get into the Christmas card zone and do them in one or two sittings.

Mimi - I know all the experts say keep checking insurances before you renew, but it can be a thankless/fruitless task. Thank goodness you had the thrill of cleaning the oven this afternoon to cheer you up. I agree, the supermarket staff have had very little acknowledgement for keeping us fed through tempest, fire and lockdowns.

Mimi - is there somewhere near the garden centre where you could go and eat your takeaway?

My OH decided at breakfast time this morning that he'd go out and clean the caravan. It does badly need doing, but he hadn't noticed that it was freezing, and a bowl of ice which I'd emptied on to the lawn (from a bird bath) was still frozen after two days. I could just imagine the caravan being cloaked in a layer of dirty ice! He did the sensible thing and had a day off instead. Meanwhile, I attacked the grotty bits on the shower where limescale and gunge had built up round the runner at the bottom. It's impossible to clean it properly without taking the door off! After lunch, I did some baking. I made wholemeal scones and 2 dozen mincepies. By the time I'd finished I was tired and was glad there was some soup left over which we had for dinner. It's a Cooper day again tomorrow, so yet another early start.

Cleaned the oven this morning, and the dishwasher has just done its thing.
Debating whether or not to put some washing in now.
Neighbours cards have been put through their letterboxes.
Off for a shower now, then coffee time.

Daisy, hope you have an easier day today.

            Morning Nanto / Ladies .
Nanto we were just talking about cleaning the oven at the weekend all nice and shining for Santa

Daisy the Caravan would freeze and will need doing again in the spring so no point doing it now,

Gem B was saying about the Jab he is allergic to Penicillin too so might not get this one either

Been to Lidl and B&M for them opening this morning , I needed a new Calendar I usually buy one at the start of November im late this year

Last night the bell went and it was the little girl who's Daddy lives over the road , he has her most weekends and holidays but we dont see her much ,
            She's 5 ,
Well she was standing there with a Christmas card so I had to open it and read it , inside was Her and Daddy's name, and all the names of her pets , from the dog , Rabbit , 3 Hamsters 2 Goldfish and a Cat who she informed me lives with Mummy
John her Daddy said it had taken her 2 hours to write 9 cards out , im not surprised all the names and the little paw prints she had drawn too

            How sweet was that

              Good morning dear ladies.

Lizzie, thinking of you today. We are here if you want to talk to us, but you know we understand if you don't for a while xx

Tier 3 is hard Nan2. Here in Tier 2 at least you can eat out alone or in your household bubble, and eat outside up to groups of 6.

Daisy, why is your thumb so painful? It's a pain having a thumb out of action. You were busy yesterday!

Unstructured day for me. This is not unusual now. A year ago it was almost unheard of!
I only have OH's presents left to wrap so I will do those this morning while she is on the golf course. I may also make mince pies.
Later she and I are going to my mums house to check all is OK. I want to go in the afternoon so that I can make sure the Christmas tree lights on a timer are coming on.

              Happy Thursday everyone.

Oma, how sweet, she took so much trouble with the cards. Perhaps the Oxford vaccine will be suitable for you and B.

I intended to make at least the pastry for some mince pies but am very slow this morning, late getting up. The scouts deliver our local cards, there are various collection boxes in local shops, we are asked to make a donation to their charity, must find out what it is. All of my other cards are posted now.

I will pop back later, need to get some washing on.

                      Morning all.
After cleaning the 9ven yesterday I had a slight discomfort with my back , today, getting the washing out of the washing machine my back went into spasm and now it's agony. This housework marlakely should come with a health warning!!
OH has rubbed some paint relief into my back so hopefully it will feel better soon.

Oma I know my DS 's health is completely different from B's but he is also allergic to penicillin but he has been able to have his normal flu vaccine so would B be able to have the covid vaccine.
DS has asthma but its not severe so , as he is under 50 he doesn't think he will be offered it .
Would the up and coming vaccine be any better for you and B ?

                      Have a good day everyone

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

good morning all, I am slowly coming to terms with it all! I have been with my car for the winter check, I do want to phone BIL, that will be upsetting though.

Oma, just read about the little girl with the card, so sweet, I will catch up on the rest later, I have brought my Christmas box upstairs so will get a few things sorted. I have just phoned BIl and he sounds better today, he managed to talk a while. The eldest son and wife have returned home to Alnwick and will be up again next week.

This is something completely different, not far from here, where I go for veg, is a nature reserve with a fantastic view of the skyline of Rotterdam, someone was there earlier and took this photo.

My auntie phoned and we had a lovely chat. She has recently had a negative covid test. OH and I are going to exchange Christmas cards with her next week. She feels bad that we would drive an hour to stand outside (she would be inside) but I told her she is worth it and it's a nice drive out through the countryside to get there.

No rush to do anything Plant. You are an active lady, you deserve late mornings!
