I think some dogs just love the scent of the unspeakable things they roll or wallow in. One of our Yorkies liked fox pooh. Our old Lab favoured horse manure. Given the range of unspeakable options in a rural location, Eva is very good - she never even stops to sniff the mounds of horse and cow pooh - she steps daintily round them.

Retrievers are beautiful dogs and always popular, so I'm not surprised they are expensive. You can see why there are so many puppy farms and dodgy back-street breeders when you can sell the pups for that sort of price!

I had a nice reflexology treatment, got to see mum who was ( mostly) awake, and we bought a new TV.

Well my oldest GS is 16 today , no longer a baby where has those beautiful baby years gone , he is a fine young man but i miss those years when we were the centre of his universe ,
Although i think we are lucky at 16 he still wants to come to us for tea after school and just pops in to spend time with us and he isnt afraid to give both me and Grandad a kiss in front of his friends, in fact two of his friends give us hugs and kisses too

Oma, of course you miss those years with GS1, you spent so much time with him. He still loves you and sees you a lot. I remember my mum saying how she missed the childhood years with my girls and didn't feel much of a part of their lives in their teens. She said it all came back when they were adults though, and became close again. You will always be close Oma. Happy Birthday to GS!

Today is my first school pick up since before lockdown
It sounds well organised, with precise times for each class to be picked up in the playground. I will get over there in good time and wait in the car until just before 3.10, which is his time.
Back to our house now as of course his parents now work from home. GS will have a change of clothes for when he gets here, and I will get him to apply hand gel in the car then wash his hands when he gets here, of course.
That is my only firm plan for today. Golf for OH.
DD1 will visit mum.

Another nice sunny day, I will not do any more gardening as I already have a pile waiting to go into the bin. I am rearranging one end or a border and when I decided to remove some of the phlox, I came in and put a note on our local website and in the afternoon someone collected them.
DD looked after her GD for the first time and then after her sleep she took her in the car to fetch her GS from pre-school. I think she found it quite lovely to look after her GD but quite hectic when GS came home, he was full of energy instead of being tired after a day at pre-school.

I’ve found the last couple of days quite difficult, to be expected I know, but need to get going this morning. I am taking the car in for service and MOT, a first for me but I had a call from the garage yesterday, a nice young man told me what to do so that will be ok. DD is following me in her car then will,bring me home. She wants to go to the big Asda so I may go with her, don’t need any shopping but just to have a look round. My first visit to a big supermarket since March! If I feel uncomfortable I can always go and wait in the car.

I had an email last week saying that our WI were looking into having meetings again but now with the new rules I guess that’s out of the question. My friend and I were doubtful about it anyway, so it looks like our minds have been made up for us.

Enfys our WI are hoping to have meetings of 20 members only starting in October. They are changing our venue and are arranging to hold meetings in a room at our local golf club. I hope they can go ahead with this.

Think I'm catching One's nonsleeping bug! Second night in a row that I've been tossing and turning! Not helped by OH having a wander in the dark!

Off to Somerset for a couple of days when DS finishes work. Think it best to go while we can. No telling what restrictions our esteemed leaders will bring in next!

I was hoping to start an evening class later this month but I expect that will be cancelled now.

Oma, congratulations on GS1 birthday, I have the seem feeling, GD1 will be 15 years old next month, I know it is all part of them growing up, I see them both regularly, luckily! Still get the hugs and kisses!

I have been to have my eyes tested here in the village, a Dutch chain of opticians and I have used them a few years now. My eyes are the same as they were 5 years ago so that is good news.

A lovely sunny morning so will get out on the bike.

Gem, pleased you ordered a new TV, I would like a larger screen, but, I don't like getting rid of something that works well, plus the fact I am not a TV person. I sat all yesterday evening with Spotify, finding so much good listening music!
We take our cardboard and paper to a container opposite the Lidl, on Tuesday morning someone had "dumped" a box from a TV, and what a TV, 85 inch!!!! I have never seen a box that size! I think the council must have removed it, I hope they found an address on it!

Our TV was a 32 inch. Given my not brilliant eyesight and the fact the sofa I prefer to sit on (the recliner one) is 10 feet from the screen this new one will mean I can read the questions on Pointless

Enfys dont expect too much of yourself , your doing wonderful just getting out of bed each day lv ,
I bet you end up spending on shopping in Asda even when you dont need anything ,
I have been in Sainsburys since lockdown eased but not Asda , our Asda hasnt been very good with the social distancing even during lock down , our local paper had lots of people writing in and complaining about them so we avoided the shop just get home delivery .

Gem did you pick TV up in store or is it delivery ?
Have you rang hospital this morning, hope your Mum had a good night and they managed to keep the canula etc in .

Went to pick my sunglasses back up today didnt get yesterday , then popped into Wilco while it was quiet ,
Had a chat with our neighbours who were sitting outside Costas having morning coffee , These are my elderly neighbours who live on other side of my Bipolar neighbour who causes them noise and grief ,

They are such lovely quiet people they dont deserve the hassle , and despite all the trouble she causes them they still feeding her cat in the garden as her mother was unable to catch it and get it in the house when she was taken into hospital again ,

They have even bought a cat igloo bed and put it in the greenhouse so it has shelter

We are so lucky to have such lovely neighbours around us , i cant understand why she's so nasty to these lovely people .
