Oh that's still hot where you are Lizzie. As Nan2 says is has cooled down a lot here.

We are invited to friends this afternoon. A garden visit. However rain is forecast and it's windy so we shall see. We may decide to use their living room which has folding patio doors the whole of the back wall. With these fully open its almost outside and we could use parasols so we could maybe sit just outside. We will wait until a bit later to see how the weather goes, and speak to our friends.
The only other plan is a M&S fruit, veg, and salad box coming! I decided that we could miss out a week of supermarket shop if we had fruit and veg in between. M&S will deliver, so we don't need to collect it. They don't give you a time when you order it ,and on the day give you a 2 hour window, so I am hoping it is this morning.

Good morning everyone.

It's raining here, and a lot cooler. I'm so glad I mowed the lawn yesterday. But it must have been windy in the night and my tomato plants got blown over. I'd looked at them yesterday and told myself I should put the stakes in - and then forgot! Anyway, I did them in the rain, in my dressing gown, this morning. I hope the neighbours weren't looking out of the window - they'd think I'd gone mad.

Lizzie - 32C and muggy doesn't sound very nice - I hope you're taking it easy.

Plans for today - get the ironing done, make a birthday cake for DS1 (they're coming for a barbecue tomorrow) and give the cloakroom a good scrub. I've also still got a complicated piece of typing to do for OH. Also Sainsbury's in their wisdom didn't send all I'd ordered for the barbecue tomorrow so I'll have to come up with some alternatives in the chicken department!

I hope you are all happy with the cooler weather, and aren't getting the random thunder storms that have been forecast.

Morning ladies it's raining here also , we got two pathetic rumbles of thunder last night that was it , I was looking forward to a good thunder and lightning storm

Did my ironing what there was only 6 items and had a shower nothing to do now .

Horrible night , it was very warm so after tossing and turning I tried the spare bed , just settled down looked at clock and it was 2.50 closed my eyes and then the damn Magpies decided to start cackling at full throttle in the tree right outside bedroom window . This went on till just after 4 wish I had a catapult I would have scared the life out of them
Dozed off and woke with a start at 5.20 convinced I heard the door bell go

Jumped out of bed and looked down the stairs but couldn't see anyone , but by that time my heart was racing and I couldn't settle back down so gave up with sleep

My Tesco order didn't turn up till 9pm last night the van had broken down so had to change all the boxes into another van and lad said it took ages for a van to get to him , wasn't his fault but I don't like late deliveries like that .

Only thing missing on mine Daisy was anti bac wipes and they changed my Lime Marmalade to Lemon I don't mind as I like that too

Gem I think rain is forecast all day I hope you can still go to your friends be a shame if you can't get there .

We must have had quite a lot of rain in the night and it is raining now. Unfortunately I left my recliner out all night. when I am dressed I will bring it under cover. DD and sil invited me on their terrace for a G&T yesterday evening and I forgot it was out.

Oma, what were the magpies doing cackling at night, they should have been asleep. I hope you get a good sleep tonight.

Gemini, hope you manage to see your friends, not sure what the forecast is for us. GD and her partner are on holiday from work for 2 weeks, I hope the weather isn't going to be rainy for them. they were hoping to go away when they booked it off.

Busy day for you Daisy, I hope the weather improves for your BBQ.

The plan is still to go to our friends, so fingers crossed. It's dry and sunny/cloudy now, but there is more rain forecast.
Oma, Mum is OK, but finding it hard so long with no face to face contact from us.

Been to Wakefield Asda. Managed to get everything,except for Warburtons currant t-cakes.

There was no queing. when we got to the cash out,i asked the assistant if they had stopped the queing system.

She said it looks like it.

We had a fair bit of rain this morning, but it got better later on. I'll write in What I did today about my exciting time today! It's only exciting compared with doing nothing.

Oma - I do hope you get a better night tonight. What on earth were the magpies doing partying all night! What a cheek.

Nanto - it's nice when you can get virtually everything on your list. In addition to what Sainsbury's didn't send yesterday, four items had a Use By date of today! I've found some salmon steak and chicken breasts in the freezer for tomorrow's barbecue, but OH isn't too happy with cooking them, so I think I'll have to do them in the oven.

Gem - I hope the rain held off for you. I'm sure your mum will feel better when she can see you properly.

Good morning one and all. I seem to be the early bird here today.

I hope everyone had a good night - plenty of sleep, no nocturnal wanderings (Oma!!) or thunder storms or even insomniac birds.

I need to get my skates on and do stuff ready for the family barbecue later on, but I'll be back later. Have a good Sunday. xx

Nan2, it is extremely windy here. I have just been outside to put a brick on the sandpit lid to prevent it being blown away.
Daisy, I hope it is better weather where you are, and you all enjoy the barbecue.

No plans today, apart from going to mums house as OH is keen for me to see the garden after the tree cutting.
The Scrabble board has been ignored for several days now, so I expect we will play that. Otherwise, just see what the day brings.
