How very sad Lizzie. I hope his poor wife doesn't feel guilty, she was doing the right thing making plans for him while she had her operation.

Oma, yes a few regulars not posted for while. Most have been on reading though, so will hopefully say something soon!
WG posts most days Oma, so you must have missed hers.

Oma, yes, I just hope she doesn't feel guilty about it all, they have 2 daughters, one lives locally but she has MS and is almost blind then the other lives quite a distance away. Luckily she has friends in the apartment. They say that looking after a person with alzeimers is like looking after a child and that is the case.

Maybe some of our ladies have just been busy.

We have had a couple of showers. One about 11.30 and one just after 1ish.
Not had the torrential rain that they forecast, unless that is still to come.
            Still warm though.

No rain here yet Nan2. I will bring the washing in soon, just in case!
I think I will have half an hour on the sun-lounger with my book as it is sunny

Lizzie - how heartbreaking for the poor man's wife.

They've switched the sun off here! It's cloudy and about 10 C degrees cooler. Let's hope it stops people flocking to Bournemouth if it's the same there.

After my early start and busy morning I've had a nana nap. My back was hurting so I thought it was a good idea. It feels fine now, and I can get going again.

I'm glad I'm not the only one putting things off because I can always do them another day - or not do them at all. I've made the spare double bed up today - I'd stripped it some time ago but have got fed up with seeing it unmade, so now it looks neat and tidy again.

Heard little rumbles of thunder about 4ish, then the heavens opened.
Still thundering. At least it will cool things down a bit.

Gem I looked back a few pages and yes your right WG has been on and I have replied to her , I'm getting forgetful in my old age

I cleaned downstairs windows and patio doors inside this afternoon and hoovered the stairs while it was cool .
It came over a bit cloudy but no rain yet think it's due later though .

Gem my washing dried in no time on the line .

Daisy you needed that nap I had 30 minutes snooze too

                      Naps are good!

I got my hour reading in the garden. Suddenly it clouded over and huge raindrops fell. I had already taken the washing in so it was a dash to get phone, Kindle and sunlounger cushions in! It rained for a while but now it is sunny again , for now at least.
                      I'm staying inside now!

I’ve been wondering about long absent friends Libra and Qwerty. However I do sort of remember Qwerty bowing out.

I was so sad to hear Lizzie’s neighbour had wanted to end his life. My heart goes out to his poor wife.

It’s been cloudy most of the day here, still warm but more comfortable though the sun has come out now. I made a Bara Brith and a tuna and cheese pasta bake for tea.

Hope you have a good evening.

Clover, for some reason Qwerty and Libra both chose to officially leave. No one upset them, nothing happened, so it was a little puzzling. Dip in and out as much as you like, no need to leave!
As they are no longer officially members they don't have Platinum status and access to YEO or Journals any more. They would of course be welcomed back with open arms and Platinum status returned if they decide to rejoin us. We miss our old friends.

Clover - I agree about the football! How on earth does it become the number 1 item of news with everything else that's going on. I'm glad it been a bit more comfortable today. It's cooled down a lot here as well.

Gem's right, we do really miss members when they aren't dropping in, but life happens and it's entirely up to the individual. We can promise they will always get a warm welcome back if they'd like to join in again.

The other thing is that we are operating on just about enough members to be viable, and could really do with some more members to help keep the posts varied and interesting for people.

It was soooo hot here yesterday, started with a thunder storm after 7pm and felt it getting cooler, still very muggy though.
I am hoping to get to the library in Delft, will have to see what the forecast is for the coming 2 hours. Sorry, just seen that it is 32 degrees on the balcony, so no cooler!
