Daisy...got the Art book ( for GS and self) and GS and I are going to do a page a day and compare them! Give him something different to do but still keeping him occupied at home while parents are working. Thanks for the inspiration Daisy!

I watched Frankenstein from The National this afternoon. Very good, especially the actor playing the creation.
The window cleaner came this morning, which seemed like a bit of normality, which was nice. He always texts me to say he is coming anyway, so I told him we would leave the payment in an envelope on the patio table.

WeeGranny - what a good idea for you and GS to do them together. I do hope you both enjoy it. xx

Got a load of whites in the washer, and the sun is shining,so will be getting them out on the line.

Good morning Nanto - what pretty flowers.

It's rained overnight here and it's very dull. I'll be lucky to get anything dried outside at the moment.

I think I'll have to do some housework today. Booohooo! It's that time of year when the horse chestnut tree right outside our front door is shedding those little sticky bits and they tread in all over the house. We've only been out at the front to take Eva out yesterday, so I don't know how so many bits have found their way inside.

I hope you all have a peaceful and relaxing Sunday. xx

Hello Nan2, Daisy and the rest.

Nothing much going on here today as far as I know. I lost abysmally at Scrabble yesterday afternoon, so I need to try harder today!

I'll pop back later. Have a nice day

Hi everyone, Oma what time did you go to bed?

Daisy, a friend of ours had a horse chestnut tree in their garden and when I admired it in full bloom, he said it is a nuisance, it is always shedding something. Sticky bits, flowers, conkers and then the leaves. Has your tree managed to survive the virus that is affecting horse chestnut trees?

Plant - yes the tree seems to be doing well, after a couple of years of looking rather poorly. It's huge, and a terrible nuisance - as your friend says it's always dropping something. Unfortunately, it's not ours! It's on the grass verge and totally blocks the view of most of our cul de sac. If we park a car under it, it takes ages to get it clean again, and some of the branches are so low you could catch your head on them. One branch on the far side mysteriously fell off the other day - I think it was a large lorry delivering to a neighbour. All the trees round our estate have TPOs on them, so we can't touch it, legally. In a way, I don't want to lose it - I love trees - but it's the old story of the wrong tree in the wrong place.

                            Good morning all.
It's a dull day here at the moment.
We are having roast lamb with all the trimmings for lunch. I even remembered to pick some fresh rosemary and have inserted into the leg of lamb for extra taste .

We don't have any big trees too near us thank goodness, we can see the ones that line the paths of the meadows.
Where we used to live we had huge trees at the front and back of our house and in autumn time we were ankle deep with leaves up our path and when it rained they were extremely slippery.
I used to sweep them up every day but that was like painting the forth bridge, never ending.
We do have a miniature lilac tree in one of the planters which I brought last year . I used the money I won in the Grand National. A horse with the same name as my dad won so naturally I backed it and so I thought it only fitting to by the tree in his memory. He loved blue lilac trees so that's what I bought believing it to be a blue one . This spring it is in flower..... it's a pink one !

Hope all our ladies are well and keeping safe
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Morning, well afternoon here, not as cold as yesterday, I went for a bike ride but it was a very short one! I have just been fiddling with my locker? machine! A needle broke, which never happens, discovered the screw of the foot was loose so got it all sorted out now. It is an old one but I still love working with it.

I went to the supermarket early, I do like that, then to the Turkish butcher for meat. Cycled past the garden centre, very busy as usual.

More shops are opening here, in fact it was very busy in the towns and cities yesterday, I noticed that in the village from Wednesday, more cars and people around, now we are waiting to see what the speech brings, in a fortnights time I think.
