The sun's shining here, too, but still very windy. I've just watched a pigeon trying to take off from OH's shed roof - into the wind. It blew him right off course and in the other direction. I hope he landed safely somewhere.

Lizzie - that vegetable float looks amazing.

Oma - Sitting in a cosy cafe, with the best bacon buttie in the world, watching people getting blown about by the sea breezes (or on-shore gales!). What could be better. Oh, I know!!! Watching the meaty thighs - I mean the rugby!

Enfys - take care of yourself - you've perhaps been doing too much, and I think by this time in the winter we're all a bit worn out with the battering from the endless rain and wind. xx

Plant - your family is very sociable. I hope you all enjoyed your 'Grandmas' lunch'

I remember the carnival when we lived in Holland,Lizzie! Even the small villages had a procession. Then the flower parades were something else to see, beautiful! I recall viisting Keukenhof when the hyacinths were out....the scent was almost overwhelming. Miss our time living there!

Started off wet here, but this afternoon has been sunny if a bit on the blowy side.

Booked a weekend in Scotland in May. My DB was 70 in February and we gave him ( and his wife) tickets for an evening cruise on the River Forth. OH said he quite fancied doing it too ( so did I) so I got tickets for us and we're flying up, having a couple of nights in a hotel and staying with them the rest of the time. DB doesn't know we're going too, and SiL has been sworn to secrecy, so it'll be lovely to see his face when we turn up! At least I hope he'll be pleased! Getting some things organised, train trip in April, Scotland in May, Aled Jones in October and hopefully a trip to visit DS at some point.

OH has a telephone appointment with GP on Wednesday to discuss the latest blood test results and I'm hoping that this will mean a referral to the memory clinic....at long last! I have very little faith in the surgery at the moment. Nothing has improved, in fact I think some aspects have got worse, but here's very little we can do. It seems to be staffed by locums who don't know anything about you or your medical history.

Thinking about all of you and your families, who are under the weather and sending positive vibes to you all. I do hope Clover is coping with all her worries and that she is getting the support she needs. Roll on Spring and some weather that isn't wet or windy!

Enjoy the evening ladies whatever you're up to xx

        Good afternoon ladies.

Enfys, I hope you feel better soon.
I hope you enjoyed the family lunch Plant, it sounds good!
Oma, less of the Meaty Thighs, B may be listening
Nan2, the weather could change completely and give a lovely day for the wedding, I hope so.
Its still quite windy here too Daisy. My hair was in quite a state when I got into the shops!

We went to John Lewis, a local electrical store, and Curry's, then came back and ordered from JL online, as they didn't have the dishwasher we were interested in in the store for us to look at anyway. We popped into M&S for a look, and had lunch in the cafe. We seem to have endless 'free' lunches in M&S with the gift vouchers OH keeps earning at golf
We dropped in on mother. I bought some of the M&S mini meals for her while we were there, took them round and put one in the oven for her. I feel she never has an actual meal unless I set the wheels in motion . We have advised her to phone her friendly builder to ask him to put the sunroom roof back on, or replace if he think it needs it. Mum has known him over 30 years and he has always been very good to mum and dad. He owns the bungalow next door to mum. If she can't get him for any reason we will try tomorrow, but it will come better from mum I think. Plus she does less and less for herself, which can't be good.

WeeGranny - What a lovely way to celebrate your BD's 0th birthday. It's good to get things booked up - nice things to look forward to. It's something we're very bad at - we tend to do things on the spur of the moment, but it's mainly because we never get round to organising in advance! I do hope your OH has an informative conversation with the GP on Wednesday, and gets a prompt referral to the memory clinic. This hanging about waiting is awful. Did you ever find out what had happened at your surgery?

Gem - you are good to your mum. I hope she enjoyed the meal tonight. I'm glad she's got a reliable person to sort out the roof on her sun room. After reading your post about it blowing off, I did wonder if it might need a new roof as the plastic might have got cracked, or be brittle. Glad you've got your dishwasher sorted. How lovely that S's golf prowess is keeping you both in free meals at M&S.

The wind finally calmed down here about 5 o'clock, so I took Eva for a walk in the Forest instead of driving up to the paddock. Even the paths were a sea of mud. Eva didn't seem to mind - she enjoyed a good sniff round. But we're the highest risk area in the country for a horrible disease called Alabama Rot. It's almost always fatal and seems quite random, so I wiped her paws and face with baby wipes and then washed her when we got home. I then had a pile of muddy/wet towels to wash as well. I was expecting a battle, but she let me wash her paws, legs, undercarriage and face with no trouble.

Daisy, I think dogs know when you're trying to help them. Well done Eva. Gem, as for 'less of the meaty thighs' (to Oma) you can never have enough of the rugby players meaty thighs.😂

Just come to bed after watching Endeavour (early years of Morse) on tv. Will try to sleep but it was quite a tense episode.

Raining again. But the wind has calmed down.

The only set plans for today, is going to the in laws.

Daisy, i've heard you speak of Alabama Rot before. Did it originate in Alabama?

                  Morning ladies ,
Well we have snow although it is quite slushy so I think a downpour will wash it away ,

Daisy Alabama rot is such a worry in some areas isn't it , not many dogs survive .

Gem sounds like you may as well have just looked at JL site in the first place hope Mum's roof sorted soon im sure she's troubled by it .

Nanto are in laws ok at the moment , there is so much going around colds etc , I know they not long ago had one but at their age they will catch all sorts xx

Nana I can honestly say I have never watched one single episode of Morse , not the type of stuff I like but my SIL he loves all the detective stuff

WG hope something is sorted soon , its so deflating when nothing happens from week to week when your waiting , although you do have some nice things to look forward too

Plant how did lunch go ? hope you had a nice day xxx

We off to Dr's for 9 , I have to pick up a new Diabetic monitor and B has his heart check , now that's a waste of time as he has regular tests at the Hospital because of all the Chemo he has had , B tells the Nurse every time he goes but they still insist they do it too .
We will then go pick Storm up , he will love this snow , a bit of a waste of time washing the floor yesterday it will be full of wet paw marks today

Have a good day ladies xxx

                    Good morning ladies.

I awoke to a perfect white blanket of snow. The roads are less white now, more slushlike. I imagine it will go as rain is forecast all morning.
Daisy we put Mum's plastic roofing in the garage and it was intact. It may well be time to replace it with new though.
That disease must be scary Daisy, no wonder you clean Eva so well.
The trips you have organised sounds good WG, I'm sure they will be appreciated.
Oma, we had looked online, but OH likes to go and see if they have the actual models in. I wouldn't bother!
GPs don't seem to know what's going on at the hospital do they Oma? They wanted OH to have bone density scan after she broke her wrist, but that is dealt with as part of her hospital treatment so she politely declined.

I am having a reflexology treatment this morning. Later I will follow OH to the garage to take her car for it's MOT, then drive her home. Presumably we will repeat it later to bring the car home. Nothing else planned but housework.

                    Happy Monday everyone!

Well went to Dr's I was in and out in minutes , it was Pharmacist I saw , he gave me the exact machine I already have but mines Blue this is Black, waste of time and resources ,
Brian was called into nurse at same time, , she said no point doing it as results were there from him having it done at Hospital , now why make a appointment they could have just phoned to tell him that ,

When we got there Brian's cousin was sitting receptionist had phoned to say Dr wanted to see her as results for a suspected clot in her leg were back so they had gone straight down .
Called her in she went in and came straight back out , we thought he must have called her in by mistake it was so quick , no he had just said results were fine and that was it , now THAT WAS a waste of a appointment they could have told her over the phone also , plus receptionist had put her in as a emergency appointment ,
So all in all 3 useless appointments someone else could have had , fair enough mine and B's were for nurse and Pharmacist but still wasted .

Came back and picked dog up , DD rang she had left home at 8am for work this was now 9.30 and she was still only 1/2 mile away , a accident had blocked the road so nothing was moving ,
She managed to turn back and will work from home this morning but has meetings after lunch so must get there ,
A little snow and everything stops

WG a very busy and enjoyable time for you to come, enjoy. I hope your OH gets that appt. soon.

Daisy, that sounds nasty, I am sure Eva enjoyed her beauty treatment.

Nana, I loved Morse and I am enjoying Endeavour, I like Shaun Evans.

Watched most of the three rugby games over the weekend, certainly some meaty thighs Daisy. We had a nice lunch DD had cooked, GD's partner's GM is 95, she loves her G&T. Unfortunately Si's mother took a dish to the kitchen and had a turn, her son fortunately was there and by the time he supported her back to the table she went like a rag doll and almost passed out. We don't know what causes these turns, sounds like a drop in blood pressure but what causes that? GS1, and family turned up with the children so that was a treat.

Enfys, I hope you are feeling better, this weather is depressing, although we had some sun yesterday.

Good morning everyone. It's still blowing a gale here, but is about 9C, so no snow. Mind you there are so many road closures round here we don't need anything else to slow the traffic down!

Plant - glad you enjoyed the meaty thighs ... err, I mean the rugby. I do hope your SIL's mum is ok. What a good job SIL was there to help her. What a lovely surprise to see the GGCs.

Oma - It's dreadful how much time, money and resources are wasted through those kinds of inefficiencies. I hope your DD can get into work ok this afternoon.

Gem - how lovely to see proper snow - not so good when it gets slushy, though. I hope your reflexology treatment went well and you're dancing on air now. I'm like S - I like to see the actual machine before buying. I hope your mum's roof is reusable, but I know when a friend took down a summerhouse in her garden the plastic corrugated roof just splintered. At least your mum's is still intact.

Nanto - I do hope your in-laws are ok. We're all getting fed up with the weather and it must be worse for your in-laws.

I'll post separately about Alabama Rot.

I saw the snow in North Yorkshire on the news early this morning.
It was forecast for us,but haven't had any yet.
Had heavy rain but its stopped now and the sun has come out.
