Just been watching the news. A lot of flights cancelled.

Passengers feeling frustrated, because the storm hasn't arrived yet. I would probably feel the same.

Morning, DS1 is hoping to get home from Leeds today so hope his flight hasn't been cancelled, no wind here at the moment.

Just drizzly rain here Nan2, no warning that a storm is brewing.
Lizzie, I hope your son's flight isn't cancelled, Leeds is one of the windiest airports! It's not windy here just now though.

Unless she phones to cancel we are going out for lunch with my auntie, which we postponed from last Sunday due to the storm.
My sore throat is much better as is my ibs. I will stay on the tablets for another day or two, but it seems the intense pain is over, thank goodness.

Have a good Saturday everyone. Stay away from this storms!

Lizzie, Leeds airport is just over an hours drive away from us.
It's the worst airport in the country for taking off and landing in wind weather.
Hope his flight doesn't get cancelled.

We going to see Martin & Clare later if its not too wild poor girl is struggling with the meds making her feel so unwell ,
we will only stay a hour we all know you don't feel like visitors when your unwell don't we .

Wont be taking MIL Clare couldn't cope with her at the minute and she sometimes outstays her welcome I have to man handle her out the door at times

Batten down the hatches those in direct line of the storm hope no one has any damage , I think we are not expecting the full force in the north xxx

Oma, not sure what time his flight was, got a message at 8am that it hadn't been cancelled upto then. Wind coming up here now, got to keep an eye on the sheets drying in the wind.

Good morning everyone. I've missed my morning chat this week.

Lizzie - fingers crossed for your son getting home ok. It's surprising how some airports can cope with bad weather better than others.

Oma - poor Clare. She must be feeling very fed up, but I'm sure you and B will cheer her up and make her laugh. I can just imagine you manhandling MIL out of the door when she's outstayed her welcome. I'm sure you'd do it very nicely, but MIL would get the message.

Gem - I'm so glad you're feeling a bit better. I'm sure auntie is looking forward to seeing you both. I think your area is more likely to get the 'best' of the storm, rather than the worst, isn't it.

We need to go shopping - the fridge is empty. It's quite windy at the moment, but not as bad as I'm sure it will be.

Oma, what a change since we last saw your GD, she is getting quite grown up and very pretty. Love her hair.

Lizzie, I hope your DS gets a flight before the storm, watch those sheets.

Mouth still painful, kept me awake for a bit. I have just had luke warm porridge for breakfast with blueberries. I am only allowed to take paracetamol for pain because of warfarin tabs. Got some knitting and sewing to get on with as I will not be going anywhere.

Just popped to shops its not too cold out I was surprised thought it would be freezing ,.

DS1 has arrived in Schiphol, he flew from Humberside, fastest flight ever! 30 minutes. He said the wind did all the work.

Well we set off for our Martins 20 mins into a 45 min journey and we had to turn back ,
It was raining so hard the wipers couldn't cope it was dangerous ,
Got near home and it was dry and bright but came in black about 10 mins ago .
Thought it was better to be safe at home we don't know how bad its going to get ,
Total idiots on the roads cutting in front taking braking distance away and going so fast throwing spray up .

Lizzie good to know he's home safely xx

Lizzie,pleased your son managed to get home.

We've been in town this morning. Had a bit of rain but no wind.
Just after 2ish, we came out of the supermarket and looked as if storm was Dennis was putting in an appearance.
Quite bright but the wind is picking up speed.

Oma,sorry to hear the meds are making Clare feel unwell.

Pleased to hear your son is home Lizzie.

Dennis has started to put in an appearance here but it is quite mild. Sil has just been in the garden trying to support a fence which is in danger of coming down. I have spent most of the day knitting squares and watching a film on Netflix. Oh goodness the lights are flickering, must keep a torch handy.
Mouth feeling slight;y less painful, I wish I could take a stronger painkiller but not allowed with warfarin, apart from some the doctors can prescribe. The dental surgery phone me this morning to check if all is well.

Oma, sorry I can't remember what is wrong with Clare, sorry the meds are causing a problem.
