Just a quick wave from me. I'm in a bit of a hurry.

We got out of the 'wrong' end of our road ok this morning to go to the hospital and by the time we got back they'd packed up and gone home. I don't blame them - the weather is atrocious. All the potholes they'd dug out ready for refilling and surfacing are full of water!

It was incredibly busy at the hospital - there was even a notice saying don't book in before your appointment time as there aren't enough chairs! Anyway, OH had his injection and is dozing in front of the tv. I'm just off to get dinner before going to dog training.

I hope no-one is suffering damage in the storm. xx

Evening ladies OH is asleep so managing to chat a bit on here, It’s a mighty bit windy and the odd shower of rain and if it remains like that I’ll be happy.
Nice to hear from Glam wish it was a happier time but she seems to be coping but I’m sure she will have bad days too .
Oma hope B gets better soon , seems a long bail for him.
Gem dentists are like dragons teeth non existent get the pun !
We have been to Dunelm today, bought a mirror, couple of pictures , a sink tidy, and a hand towel we know how to spend our money, unlike my sil although I know he’s very comfortable well the family both have well paid jobs but work very hard he’s bought himself a new car, I dare not tell you the price but I could have bought half a terrace house for that, the car has whistles and all, it parks itself !!! How the heck he justifies the money goodness knows but he has his head screwed on and wouldn’t get into debt so I must relax and breathe 🥴 A trip to Skipton on Sunday in the new car, I will be so flipping posh they will think the Queen has arrived .
Daisy what a lot of trailing about you seem to have to do , but if OH benefits then it’s worth it, but all that driving childminding, cousins affairs it never ends no wonder you slept .
We have a week off now from pick ups dil mum is down. Haircut and colour on Thursday a nice relaxing week all round 😀
Mimi I’m not alone in th. otox saga by the sound of it hope his goes ok.

Good morning Nanto, Oma and everyone.

After last night's violent storm it's still raining, but at least the wind has dropped. I was literally soaked to the skin just from getting Eva in and out of the car, the car park itself at dog training was ankle deep in horrible cold muddy water, and guess who was wearing trainers! All the roads were flooded and I've just collected dustbin lids and various other pots and things from around our garden, apart from where the water's too deep.

We're going out for coffee and lunch today. OH's eye isn't too bad, but I'll drive - we've promised to give some friends a lift. I'll take my wellies just in case today!

I hope no-one else has got floods.

Oma - I keep thinking about Clover and WG as well, and wonder how Glamm is today.

Qwerty - it sounds as though you need a rest - you've done a lot of childcare over Christmas and New Year. SIL's car sounds very posh - you'll have to practice your Royal wave! Qwerty - I'm lucky I usually sleep well - and feel very indignant when I have the odd bad night. I don't mind driving and living where we live everything is some distance away.

Nanto - I hope you get your sunshine - could we have a bit as well, please? xx

Good morning everyone. A calm morning here, for now at least.

Nan2, I hope you find both in laws well.
Poor Storm Oma, thinking he was coming to Nanna's
Qwerty, you deserve your relaxing week. New cars are expensive aren't they? (Not that I have had one!) They have good jobs and only one child, and as you say I'm sure they know what they are doing. My SIL2 is car mad, has expensive cars and is even fussy what hire car he will have on holiday As long as mine is small, 4 doors, not a rust bucket and is reliable (and not yellow) I'm not fussy!
              Have a nice lunch Daisy!

GS1 day for me, changed from Tuesdays for the next few weeks. Normal school pick up time, and he's given up Beavers from this term, so no after school activity to take him to.
Minutes to type this morning as I didn't get to them yesterday.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Calm now after a terrible stormy evening. I was out driving two friends to Trefoil (ex Guiders) meeting. Coming home it was horizontal rain and flooded roads, not nice. One of the ladies I picked up was the friend who has moved into a McCarthy and Stone flat recently, she is so pleased she has made the move. Nothing much planned for today, I have a parcel to pick up from M&S food hall which is just down the hill.

Poor Storm Oma, he was looking forward to his dinner at your house. Hope B is feeling better.

What did your mother say about your new car Gemini? Has your insurance gone up a lot, I am still trying to mine down since GD crashed my new mini.

Plant, I'm glad you got home safely I don't like to think of you out driving in that weather!
Mum walked to the gate with me to look at my car, which I park on the road in front of her house. She liked it very much.
I'm not sure about the insurance.
Today will be the first longish drive in it, and nighttime drive back. I have driven it few times now so am more used to it. It needs a lot more pressure on the pedal to get round bends and set of, so I am adjusting to that.
I'm very happy with it though.

Went to Specsavers this morning , we had our eyes tested last week but I hate picking glasses straight away , I feel pressured , so we had a good browse , I picked a nice half frame type and a pair of prescription Kyle Minogue sunglasses as it was 2 for 1 , actually paid more for the sunglasses but I paid extra to get the darkest lenses they do and I chose anti glare and scratch resistant on my Glasses ,

I chose not to have Varifocals again even after all these years I still couldn't get used to them , so just distant ones I already bought reading glasses ,

B chose some Converse ones his are all singing all dancing and as he has a strong lens his was much -much more expensive than mine .
Paying for them he was having the vapours hahaha , I get mine next Wednesday but as his Varifocals they will be a week longer .

Oma I couldn't get used to varifocals after 3 years so now have reading and distance ones.

Fabulous weather here! Sunny with blues skies
If I were still having GS1 on Tuesdays as I usually do OH and I would have had a day at the coast today.

Gem some people are fine with them , B loves his , not me The young women who helped us was surprised as she said mine were top of the range lenses , well yes they were but that doesn't mean they were right for me . I wouldn't waste that type of money again on them .

We always got to Specsavers. Hubby has bifocals.
Both of us have reactalites. I have plain ones for watching tv.
The reactalites are always in my bag. I don't need any yet for close work.
Hubby wears them for everything now.

I need my distance ones for driving, cinema, TV and theatre. Often for sight seeing too or I miss things!
I have reading glasses for reading and being on my phone. I don't wear them for the laptop and can manage my Kindle without them if I need to.

Just read a few things to catch up! Arrived home at 4pm, much better drive than when I went yesterday morning, what a traffic!!!! It took me 2 hours to drive 114kms, not only me, everyone else had the same problem. I did enjoy the 2 days away and we were looked after so well, there were 50 of us. The story behind the factory is amazing, a young boy, 22 years old, started building these E bikes in his parents shed with a friend, the first year they sold 2,000. Last year it was 90,000! They have shops and workplaces in most towns in Holland and are starting in Belguim, Germany and Denmark. All the staff are young, so full of life and looked after us. The hotel was good, food very good, now it is back to normal!!! I didn't buy a new bike but quite a few people did, I was tempted but mine is only 15 months old. We did all go for a bike ride through the woods to try the new ones. Disc brakes etc etc.

Just reading about the specs, I wear varifocals, wear them daily with no problems.

I haven't heard from the friend yet so don't know how her partner is, the wife of a man I swim with had a long operation, 8 hours, yesterday, brain tumor, he phoned me yesterday afternoon to tell me it had gone well and all was removed, they said it wasn't malignent so I hope it for them.
