My mum LOVED Bread, she watched it all the time in those days!
Qwerty, good to hear things are improving
We had a wonderful time. Its hard to describe to anyone who hasn't been to one how the concerts make you feel. Yes, Daisy let's all got to Maarstricht
OH and I decided to eat out afterwards, so a good day. I met one of my mum's neighbours there. A lady a few years younger than mum, maybe 85 or 86. She was with a group of others. We chatted before the concert than later I found her helping some'old people' with sticks into the disabled loo!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Oh, I loved Bread! It was a real caricature of several aspects of life in inner Liverpool, with the bossy matriarchal mum, the grown-up children doing exactly what she said. I think it ran for 4 or 5 years and was created by Carla Lane who wrote The Liver Birds.
Gem - It sounds as though Andre Rieu concerts have the same effect on both of us. I'm glad today's didn't disappoint. It sounds as though your mum's neighbour is a lively soul.
Qwerty - I'm so glad you're feeling better today. I know you weren't looking forward to having it done, but it will be worth it, I'm sure. You can now relax and enjoy your few days in Harrogate. You are right about WG's GS - he fell off his new bike doing a stunt, and broke his wrist.
Grauntie - I'm still intrigued by these boxes - I do hope you get round to making one so you can show us. Gold star for putting the chocs back in the garage - but don't forget they're there.
Enfys - sorry I missed your post earlier. How great to see all the family 'down under'. I'm glad they're well away from the fires - the pictures on tv are devastating and there doesn't seem any end to them at the moment.
Sunshine will be on her way by now. She's only got a short stop over in Singapore, so hopefully she won't spend, spend, spend at the airport. I've never been there, but everyone tells me the airport shops are amazing.
I don't know where today has gone, but then my friend M called round for coffee, I had a lovely chat with Sunshine, did a few loads of washing, including changing our bed, made liver treats for Eva, made dinner, and have just watched Call the Midwife. Off for an early night - it's back to school and work for DS2 and family tomorrow, so we're on Cooper sitting duties. It seems ages since I've seen him, and I'm looking forward to my enforced cuddles.
Night, night, everyone.

Good morning everyone.
What a cheerful girl on the graphic Nan2
You were busy yesterday Daisy. Enjoy the doggy day today!
Today we will be taking down trees, decs and lights. We made a start yesterday.
I have to be at my clients house by 4.30. As I have no car OH will take me. She knows my client as he was my ex next door neighbour. He won't mind her waiting in the living room for me - he has his treatment in the dining room end . It's only an hour so not worth her going away. Life would be very restricted for us both if we had only one car!!
Have a good day everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning Nanto, Gem, Oma, that happy smilie girl in the graphic, and everyone who follows.
As Oma, says, first day back to 'normal'. Doesn't Christmas already feel like the distant past!
Cooper gave me a good welcome, and both GDs were anxious to show me wobbly teeth. Their tooth fairy will have to get finance if they all come out together!
Back later - window cleaner here and Cooper very excited!

Bit late checking in, I had a gentleman here (get me) looking at a job I needed done. I have a problem with the tiles in my shower, the lower ones have gone darker as if they have become porous. He is a bit mystified, not seen it before. He is going to see if the tiles are still available and go from there. Any ideas welcome. I would like to get back to bowls today but I have a dentist appt. at 3.45, right in the middle of the bowls session so would be difficult to fit me in. I might pop in to see them at tea time break. Very quiet here, everyone back to work. All my decs and cards are stored away, need to get dusting.
Qwerty have a nice break, hope you are feeling comfortable now.
Hope Sunshine had a good trip and is safely there now.
I love your GS1 putting his order in for his meal, us GP are a pushover but they give so much in return.
Gemini, when do you pick up your car? What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Good morning everyone, the sun is shining here at the moment. I have been to the hospital, had heart tests etc last week, now for the results, I had to go every year but it looks very good so can go back in 5 years! Only my blood pressure is high, never has been before so he said it could be with the worry, I do worry, I worried about this morning and now in a few weeks for a MRI scan for my ears, worry about that as well. Now I have to go to my own doctor a few time and see if it goes down before they think of medicine. I was really surprised as never had a high reading before.
Gem, friends of mine are always going to Maastricht for his concerts! He played in our village about, 20 years ago, we used to have shows etc for the Kings birthday and he came once, I know my neighbour went at the time.
Pleased you are feeling better Qwerty. Enjoy the break in Harrogate.
I must go and get ready, 50 fit in the pool, a neighbour from the first floor goes with me then I am going to pick GD2 up from school, a change for me so looking forward to it. DS1 has meetings all day so won't be home. He just phoned and asked how it went at the hospital, I told him and he told me NOT TO WORRY!!!! Easier said than done with me.

Enjoy your swim Lizzie, good exercise. It could have been just being nervous that sent your BP up Lizzie, how many times did they take it? It used to happen to my OH, so he bought his own machine and took the readings when he saw the doctor. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant is starting the year entertaining men 😊.
The car is being picked up on Friday, Plant. As it is GS2 day and nearly 3 hours round trip I won't be going . Our good friends C and P will drive OH there and she will drive it back.
Lizzie your son is right, try not to worry! BP is often high for no reason and rights itself. If not meds will sort it out. Enjoy the swim!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
