Oma, no the figure is made from cardboard and papermache. Yes the girls can smile together.

I remember my mother getting her "Christmas boxes" ready for all the delivery people, including the dustmen!

Oma, i can remember when we used to have all those delivery people.
We have never tipped the binmen at Christmas though.

      Gem,hope the meeting went well.

We always give our milkman a Christmas Box, and our regular postman because he's so good. He goes beyond the call of duty, like retrieving Eva when she's gone walkabout! OH usually gives the binmen beer. It's the same crew every week - 2 vans, 3 men on each, and they're also very good and will take 'odd' things with no trouble.

"Poorly" GD2 has polished off a huge plateful of sausages, egg and chips, followed by chocolate ice cream for lunch, plus a glass of Ribena. That's after a sandwich and a chocolate chip cookie for elevenses. She's certainly feeding that cold, bless her.

Ribena is the go-to treat for poorly GCs here. They all love it, and it does make sure they get plenty of fluids. I'm sure their teeth will survive - provided they don't get too many colds.

            Good afternoon all.
I haven’t actually done a lot today as DS came for lunch and by the time he had left my get up and go had well and truly got up and gone! I didn’t get much sleep last night as my one big toe was causing me so much discomfort, I can certainly say since it’s gotten colder the arthritis has been absolute hell.

The only person we tip at Christmas is the Tesco delivery driver.
We used to tip the postman/ woman but as we get a different one nearly every week its impossible to judge who our postman is supposed to be.
Like Nan2, we don’t tip the bin men

Daisy it seems like GD is on the road to recovery.

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I hope GD feels better soon Daisy. I'm sure a day with Grandma will do her good.

Well despite the level crossing going beserk ( lights continuing to flash after the train had gone, gates going up, down, up down, so no one dare cross) I got to the meeting on time. I had to get myself out of the traffic queue, go back on myself and leave the village another way. I also got from the meeting to school on time for the start of the Christmas Fair.
I got some little gifts from the craft stall, and GS won a box of Matchmakers on the Tombola. He started reading his little book from Santa on the walk home and finished it just after we got in!
His Grandpa, my ex phoned which surprised us both. Me that the landline was ringing, as I have never heard it before, and him that it was me answering when he expected DD! We had a nice chat when we got over the confusion.

Definitely feed a cold Daisy, hope GD will be better soon.

My Sil tips the bin men and I always tip our postman, he is so good. Problem is near to Christmas we tend to have different, I suppose temp. postman so I have to catch him early, probably next week.

                      Good morning everyone.
Frosty here but not as bad as a few days ago when we had the hard frosts.

Getting on with your day Oma!
I hope to get on with card writing today Nan2.

This morning we have a Tesco delivery. Then I am going to the Halifax to withdraw some cash for my mum. The friend who kindly makes OH's photo calendar for me each year lives down the road, so I will collect the calendar and have a cuppa.
I need to write Christmas cards, do some online shopping and make 2 Christmas cakes. Some of those things will get done today.
Tonight is my Christmas meal with the 2 friends I worked with.
OH is going to the Barbican to watch snooker!

Thinking of all poorly people, and ones who are anxious or down. Hoping you all feel better very soon.

                      Keep warm ladies

Good morning early risers and later risers.

We've had a hard frost overnight - brrrrr..... - and OH had to go our early to get to a 9 am dental appointment in Bournemouth. He wasn't looking forward to battling through the rush hour traffic. He's got a problem with his gums and our regular dentist recommended some specialist cleaning/treatment.

As usual, I was too tired to get back on here after dog training. It overran and I didn't get home till nearly 11pm, so it was a full-on day after such an early start. I haven't spoken to GD's mum or dad yet, so don't know if GD was ok for school or not. She was quite tired by the end of yesterday and fell asleep in the car going home.

Gem - I'm glad you managed to fit everything in yesterday, despite the traffic problems. Enjoy your Christmas meal tonight.

Nana - thinking of you - I hope everything goes well for DD xx

Oma - I'm tired just thinking about getting up at 5 am let alone doing housework etc. I hope you get a Nana Nap this afternoon.

Nanto - I like the happy graphic - a nice alternative to traditional Christmas colour schemes. Were you posting cards in the dark, or have you got street lights?

Wrap up nice and snugly ladies if you're braving the cold this morning.

Very hard frost here, very sunny now and the rooftops are steaming. I should go out and cut a few plants down but ........ I probably will not. I need to get on with writing Christmas cards and make some mince pies. We are out this evening celebrating GD1's 26th birthday.

Is the snooker being televised Gemini, your mother will be happy if it is. Has she been to see snooker live.

I hope your poorly GD is feeling a bit better Daisy

I woke up at 5am Oma but turned over snuggled down and had another 4 hours.

Morning everyone. Not sure what we'll do today. Might need to take GSs out somewhere.

I have my election form on my lap & I still don't know who to vote for. BJ using deaths on Bridge in London to enhance his campaign is appalling. Worried JC might ruin our NHS. I'm at a total loss. Anyone else?

Nana, I agree with you.....not sure what to do. Pick the best of a bad lot I guess, I don’t trust any of them ☹️

What a night I had! Woke at 3.30 to find my tongue really swollen on one side. Just like my mouth had last week. Took some of the antihistamine the doc gave me but it was really scary. Debated to ring NHS but thought I’d leave it for a bit. So sat up until 7,00, too frightened to lay down but then nodded off until 8. Luckily it’s gone down quite a bit now but it was a horrible feeling.

Also, neck still not right so have made an appointment with a local osteopath for Friday. I debated about chiropractor but after reading up about both, decided I liked the sound of osteo better. It seems they look at the whole body and are gentler which I liked the sound of. We shall see.

otherwise, a quiet day. Car in having a little scratch repaired, not me honest guv!! P reversed into a rubbish skip after getting into a difficult parking bay a couple of weeks ago. He was going to try and sort it out himself but I said no, theses things are always more difficult than they look and there was a little dent too. Getting it back this afternoon.

Hope everyone is ok, and keeping warm. It’s turned very cold here lately brrrr.
