Been a wet, dark miserable day, till 3.30, then the sun came out.

Oma, pleased you managed 45 minutes sleep.

Came home from in laws, then listed something on ebay.
Dined on fish and chips. then cleaned the little oven.

I’m out for lunch tomorrow with one of the girls I meet up with usually for cocktails also meeting Richard the husband of my best friend Clare who died 3 years ago, we usually try and meet up once a year with him , it’s a difficult meet up as he still hasn’t come to terms with her death , but I did hear for the first time he had gone to the Xmas do at work so hope he’s a little more cheerful .
Enfys good for you booking whilst health isn’t too much of an issue something to look forward to Hun .

Despite everywhere being soaking wet I did get a little gardening done this morning, but by lunch time it had got windy again and much chillier. Just a quick whizz round with the sucky up thingy after lunch and a bit of TLC to the bathrooms and that will do!

I didn't mention we had a power cut about 4 am last night, but I think I know why

People living on the Hampshire coast woke to find damaged windows, fences and walls.

This is just 4 or 5 miles as the crow flies - or the wind blows! - from us. Apparently it can't officially be classed as a tornado because they have no video of it. I presume there were no such things as tornados before video was invented!

Oma - I do hope you get some sleep tonight - you must be exhausted. I hope B's phone can be repaired/replaced quickly. He must have been gutted. Pleased to hear you're happy with Martin's wedding photo. Lovely memories, eh! x

Gem - such good news about your mammogram. You can stop worrying now and concentrate on looking forward to your holiday. I bet GS is excited about his swimming lesson tomorrow.

Mimi - that was a bargain day out and a very nice one, too. Just what you need to cheer up this miserable January weather, and you were a good girl having coffee instead of something like sticky toffee pudding.

Nanto - thank you for the flower.

Plant - I hope you got your shopping done without too many pothole problems, especially those filled with water so you can't tell how deep they are. I didn't realise things like green veg could affect warfarin, although I did know about the alcohol. You have to be really careful, don't you!

Enfys - how lovely to have another short break booked up, especially as an early birthday present for P.

Qwerty - it seems to be time for everyone to have their hair cut! It sounds very chilly up your way though. I'm sure Richard appreciates meeting up with you and Claire's other friend, even if he doesn't show it. It probably helps to bring Claire a little closer to him again. It's still relatively early days, and she was so young.

I haven't heard of Miller and Carter - I'll have to see what Mr Google says about it.

Good morning Nan2, happy shopping and dining
Good morning to everyone passing through.

Oma, did you have a better night?
I have never heard of Millie and Carter either Daisy!
I hope you enjoy the lunch Qwerty.

We had a nice catch up evening with our friends. They were fine, had a really good holiday and seemed very 'loved up' Good to see.
Tonight we are socialising again! Other friends invited us round for a meal. Not sure what the rest of the day holds yet.

I hope yours goes well whatever you plan.

                    Good morning. Very cold here...brrr.

Opticians for me this morning, pity I’ll miss my Family History meeting, messed up my dates but never mind. Nothing else planned.

DGD has arrived safely in Adelaide so her mum will be happy. They will have two weeks together before DD comes home.

Hope you slept better, Oma. Nothing worse than a bad night.

Have a good day everyone 🌞

Gem, good news of the mammogram. I hope the swimming lesson goes well, so important to learn to swim.

I hope the weather improves for you all, you seem to be having a lot of wind and rain, ours will come now I have done the windows.

Oma, I wonder how you cope with so little sleep?

I want to get some shopping done this morning. Have a nice weekend all!

Good morning everyone. Nanto - that graphic reminds me of when any of my GC's were babies and at that lovely moment when they're waking up still sleepy and cuddly!

Gem - pleased to hear your friends are in a better place in their relationship. Lovely to have another social evening to look forward to as well. We're obviously both missing out on Miller & Carter. I've just checked and our nearest ones are Southampton or probably the one that Enfys mentioned. It's a steakhouse chain. Let us know how GS's first swimming lesson goes.

                        Oma - I hope you've had a good sleep.

Enfys - yes, very cold - quite a heavy frost this morning. What a pity you're missing your Family History meeting. I bet your DD and GD are having a wonderful time in Adelaide.

Lizzie - clean windows are lovely, aren't they, even if the weather messes them up again. For us (south coast) we're actually forecast a dry week-end, but with being frosty lots of events have been cancelled because everywhere is flooded and will be treacherous! You just can't win sometimes.

I was hoping to do gardening today, but I'll have to see how the weather goes I suppose. If the frost doesn't melt I might just have to stay indoors and read my book.

I had every intention of getting into the garden too Daisy but frosty and waterlogged here, see what tomorrow brings. Hope to see Sil's mother today to see how she is getting on with her carer.

I hope you had a better nights sleep Oma.

Querty I hope you have a lovely meal out with your friends. I have never heard of Miller and Carter.

Enfys, enjoy your few days away. Your DD and GD will enjoy their time together.

Gemini pleased to hear your mammogram was clear.

Well I tried to stay up as late as I could last night so I would sleep but by 10.30 I was literally wobbly on my feet with tiredness , I had difficulty getting up the stairs in a straight line
Went to bed and slept till 1.15, came downstairs and was up till 3.30 am went back and slept till 7am so I didn't do badly at all considering

Did washing, drying and ironed it all this morning popped to Aldi now I have nothing at all to do today , I do intend having a nana nap after lunch I think I deserve one

At least your night was better than the one before Oma. I hope it's even better tonight.

DD sent a photo to the family WhatsApp group of GS2 in his swimming lesson . Having lots of fun

Good morning all, it’s a bit nippy but at least it’s not raining and the sun is out , thought I’d whisper that , just in case it gets all shy on us and disappears agin .

I’ve done a few loads of washing and at the moment the machine is doing a drum clean , it tells me every so often it needs doing, honestly it’s bad enough with OH talking non stop without machines beeping at me demanding their attention.

While I was hanging out the washing the little boy who lives upstairs was chatting to me through his open bedroom window.
”Mummy is making some new white drawers for my bedroom “
”Oh that’s nice “ I said, “Are you going to put your clothes in it? “
“ Yes “ he said “ And I want it in the middle of my room “
“ And what does mummy think of that idea”
A voice from within the room said
“ Mummy thinks it might be a bit inconvenient “
Then I also heard a tired voice say
“ And I tell you what else mummy thinks, mummy things she had had enough of this stupid easy home assembly furniture, mummy wants a cup of coffee “
Oh how I remember self assembly furniture, many a cross word has been said during the whole process!

Oma, I never eat steak, haven’t done since I was about 17 , I don’t personally understand why all the hype about a chunk of meat but each to his own I suppose. When we go to Miller and Carter I usually have fish or chicken, OH will occasionally have steak . By the way , how is B ?

Gemini so pleased to see that your mammogram was all clear . I hate waiting for the results. I have to sit down and take a deep breath before opening the envelope.

Daisy we are itching to get outside and do some gardening but it’s either been too wet or we have had frost. OH has just come in and he says it’s icy on the pavements so I think I will stay indoors today .

Talking of gardening, has any one saved their ground coffee dregs to put around the garden plants as a fertilizer . I have just started saving ours from our coffee pot. Seems a shame just to throw them in the bin

                                Have a good Saturday everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.
