    Sounds like good advice Nana.

What a lovely sleep Oma, you must have needed that. Now rest those knees.

I shall be pleased to get back to my usual activities, WI talk sounded very informative Enfys.

Qwerty, I hope the botox gives you some relief and the infection is all cleared up. A new woman!

I sorted out my Christmas decs. last year but I shall have another cull when they come out again.

Family are going to the local Panto this afternoon, of course they are taking GS. DD does ushering there so has seen it several times already.

All this talk of cleaning ovens is making me feel guilty - ours is a disgrace.

Oma - well done on catching up with some much-needed sleep.

Plant - I bet your GGS will love the panto. Oh yes he will.

The tree and all the decorations are down, but not too much cleaning yet. It took far longer than I expected, but I have cleaned the fridge to within an inch of its life. OH thoughtfully put the three packs of defrosting dog food in there last night - and they leaked! Then when I carefully lifted them out of the fridge they leaked all over the kitchen floor, and then into the small washing up bowl I keep for defrosting dog food. By then I needed to give the work surfaces a good scrub with anti-bac cleaner as well.

Oh well, the best laid plans ....

Oma, what a good sleep you had.
Only did grocery shopping in Sainsburys. Don't like looking in shops for clothes.
Must get looking on the internet, still need an outfit for GD1 wedding in march.

Oh Daisy what a mess for you to clear up. I do hope GGS does enjoy the Panto Daisy, he sometimes says he feel frightened. Even SIL his GP has gone and he hates pantos.

Nanto, I hate buying clothes for special events. Then you usually only wear them once.

Daisy I bet ours is a worse disgrace!!
            Good sleep Oma

We have sorted some Christmas boxes out - some stuff thrown away, some to charity shop. We will take the decorations and lights down tomorrow but I will leave the tree until Monday morning.
I paid the vet for our dear little cats last services in December, then we went over to DD3's. They are away until tomorrow night but we wanted to leave SIL's present and card for his birthday on Monday. We usually give it to him on Boxing Day, but I forgot to take it with us. The cat was starving!! I have never seen her like that so we fed her and left a note for the cat feeder to explain. DD3 will not be happy as they keep her very restricted in what she eats, but I have never seen a cat so hungry. We both felt we had to do something

Happy New Year tae ane an' a' !
Been out clearing leaves from lawn this afternoon, bet I ache tomorrow! The lawn does look a lot better without its coat of leaves now.

Not a good start to 2020 for GS. He got a stunt bike for Christmas and he took it along to our village skatepark. Sadly, he's not as good at stunts as he thought and he came off the bike and now has a broken wrist! Not a happy chappy I can assure you. DD took him to Addenbrookes and they were there and back within 4 hours and that included two lots of xrays and a plaster cast being put on. She was very impressed with the service there, so were we as it's been known for patients to wait for 4 hours before being seen. Anyway, that's him out of action for 6 weeks at least. I don't envy having to keep a very active teenager occupied for that length of time.

Have taken cards down but tree is still up. Couldn't face doing any more today. Think we're going to take ourselves out for the day tomorrow. Will make chicken casserole tonight then it'll just need heating up when we get back. Tonight OH can have the lamb which was for tomorrow and I've got a steak pie.....lamb is not my favourite meat!

Hope all the aches and pains are getting easier and that everyone has a good evening x

Oh WG, poor GS, what start to his year My DD3 broke hers in her teens. She was running home from the video shop with her (bigger) friend when they both tripped and friend fell onto DD's arm and broke her wrist!

Shepherd's Pie for tea here. It's the remainder of the one I made when our friend T came to eat with us between Christmas and New Year. I couldn't think what to make for tonight, then I remembered that in the freezer, so just some veg to prepare

Poor GS WG not the best start of the year for him , hope his new bike wasn't damaged too .
When my DS was 15 he was in drama class and fell off the chair he was made to stand on he broke both wrists , took 6 weeks to heal then had to have several weeks of physio

Gem had the Cat feeder actually fed the cat ? poor thing I bet it was glad to see you xx

Daisy funny how a good deed ends up causing more work isn't it , if nothing else the fridge got a good clean out

Plant hope they all enjoyed the Panto , you never know he may have been fascinated with it

We had a unexpected guest this afternoon , a friend we haven't seen for a while was up this end visiting so called in out of the blue , really lovely catch up

For days I have been searching for a 6pk of stubby candles I bought to use in a tall candle melt as the tea lights are not big enough to heat up the melts ,
We looked everywhere even places you wouldn't expect them to be , but they were no where to be found ,
This morning while we were out I bought another set , came home opened the cupboard where I would normally keep them and right in front of me was the missing ones

Honestly we looked in that cupboard at least 4 times even taking things off the shelves .

Im sure we have sprites hiding stuff from us

I’m all packed and ready to go. I’m off on a trip of a life time to Australia and New Zealand. The taxi will collect me at 4pm tomorrow heading for Heathrow Airport. We will be stopping at Singapore for refuelling. I believe the shops at Singapore Airport are to die for. Then on to Sydney. Overnight stay in Sydney then I pick up the cruise ship and sail to New Zealand. So exciting. On 16th January I will meet-up with my nephew and his family when we stop in Tauranga. I’ll only get to spend one day with them before we will be off again to the next port. I can’t wait to see them all again. They emigrated to NZ two and a half years ago. Although we get to ‘face time’ frequently, I still miss them.
                    i don’t think I’ll sleep tonight. I’m too excited. 😀

Evening ladies this is a quickie I’ve had the Botox done thank goodness the local anaesthetic wore off this afternoon and I was quite sore so took some painkillers I was prescribed and slept for 2 hrs, but I didn’t sleep that well last night it’s coming back on so will take some milder tablets
I won’t know if it’s worked for maybe a week, I’m told these blips happen and if it doesn’t work again I’ve been given the secretary’s number for my urologist whom I haven't met before as my own retired a couple of years ago and I have had no reason to visit him , I’ll speak more tomorrow thanks again

Ouch Qwerty, I feel for you & hope that you're soon better. Sunshine no wonder you're excited. Safe journey & have a wonderful holiday. Poor GS WG, bet he'll get frustrated not being able to ride again for a while. So much happening & we're just a few days into the New Year.

I started back on the quilt this afternoon. I will enjoy it. If I say it often enough maybe I'll talk myself into believing it. Ha!😉🤣
