Gem - I'm sorry your mum didn't feel up to your family day. I hope you have had a lovely time though. I'm sure she'll be pleased to see you tomorrow when she's had a rest.

Oma - poor you. Swollen ankles are so uncomfortable. Mine were a bit swollen last night with being on my feet all day fro the last few days, but yours sound much worse. I hope you've had lots of ret today.

Plant - I'm sorry to hear about your SIL's mother. Poor lady. It must have been frightening for her being on the floor for so long. I hope her chest infection responds to treatment quickly. It must have been a strange Christmas Day for you. Your GGS is at that lovely age when Christmas is total magic for them. It must have been great spending some time with him. How were the curries. I'm sure there was plenty to go round.

Nanto - sleep well tonight. xx

Enfys - we didn't get much respite from the rain - I hope your SIL wasn't in any of the flooded areas with his cycling event. At least the football contingent were under cover - I hope? (I can remember if Bournemouth seating is all under cover or not.)

My day off didn't go quite to plan. OH's back is still painful, but we decided the best thing was gentle exercise, so took Eva to the paddock. The paddock owner's family were there, and their DIL was just about to take her dog in there, so she said bring Eva too. I explained she gets over-excited round other dogs, but hers was a very gentle dog, bigger than Eva, and definitely more mature. They were fine for about 5 minutes. The other dog told her off for some reason, which was fine. Then she pushed her luck with him and it ended up in a bit of a scuffle. No damage to either dog, but I was furious with myself for letting myself to be talked into letting her off the lead. I still feel upset about it, and I think Eva knows it - she keeps coming to me looking very sad.

        Daisy,poor Eva.

I'm getting a bit fed up of seeing the Christmas decorations now.
Just want to get the house back to normal now.
Unfortunaltely, hubby liked them left up till New Year.

Wishing you all a good day.

          Good morning everyone.
Nan2, I'm glad you slept well. I think people who put up decorations early in December probably do get tired of them by now, I know Oma likes hers down. Mine will be up until 12th night
Daisy I hope OH's back is less sore today and Eva less sad!

We had a good day yesterday. Tonight we are going to see our friends C and P (postponed from last week as they were ill) for drinks and nibbles)
Today we hope for some sitting about time, but also we will look at a car we have seen advertised and drop in on mum as she was alone all day yesterday.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good mroning Nanto, Gem and all who follow.

Nanto - thank goodness you got more sleep last night.

We don't put our decorations up until a week before Christmas (or even less) and they stay up till 12th Night, so we're not fed up with them yet.

Gem - I'm glad you had a lovely day. Good luck with the car hunting, and enjoy your evening with C and P.

Today our baby GD is 6! She's been counting down the days for weeks and I imagine she's bouncing off the ceiling with the excitement of it all. We'll pop over and see her later to take her present, and a little parcel for GD1 as well. Then DS1 and family are coming down for the day. They'll pop over and see GD2 and come back here for a meal, so I'd better get my skates on! It will be nice to see them and atch up on all the work going on with their house extension.

Eva is still in the dog house - we were all going over to see GD2 together leaving her and Bailey in our house, but after yesterday it's not such a good idea, so we'll go separately.

            Have a good day, ladies.

                Morning ladies ,
Poor Eva , you should have stuck with your instincts Daisy but on the other hand she could have been fine , its a learning curve for her ,

Nanto im the same , I need them down but we leave them till 2nd as we have everyone for new years day , B hasn't realised I have already started to squirrel some bits and pieces away he would keep them up all year if he had his way

Gem shame about your Mum but im sure you had a lovely day not having to worry about her being unhappy and tired , enjoy your night out tonight xx

WG hope you have a good journey home , its lovely going away but even better coming home xx

How are all the people who don't feel well or their OH's ?

Plant how is the poor lady after her fall ?

B spoke to his Mam this morning she's not well but much better than she was, we think she went into a panic as she didn't have her in-hailer with her , she insists she doesn't need it but then when she does and doesn't have it she's convinced she is gasping her last breath .

Been out for bread its empty but when we passed our well known Garden centre they were queueing 3 deep to get in for the Christmas sale ,
It didn't open till 10 by 9.30 you couldn't get in car park , all for half price baubles

Not a nice day to say welcome back WG. pleased you enjoyed your trip.

Good luck Gemini with the car hunting and I am sure your mother will be pleased to see you. Have a nice evening with your friends.

Daisy, poor Eva, was it her fault the skirmish broke out? Have a lovely day with the family, the birthday girl will be very excited at now being six.

I will only leave my cards up until twelfth night will probably take the tree down after the weekend. The curry feast at my sons and dil's was amazing, he had cooked huge amounts of at least 8 curries and rice. He starts cooking the sauces 2 months before and freezes them apart from the ones that have cream in them. The house was crowded with friends old and new, ones I hadn't seen since they were at school. He and his wife have a very wide circle of friends and are very good at keeping in touch. I decided I would drive and not drink so took GD1 and her partner. GS and his wife were there too with the children, although they were not with us for a Christmas meal, we have seen a lot of them over Christmas.

                    Morning all .
We were supposed to be having another Christmas get together today as DD, SIL and two youngest GS’s are coming up from Cardiff and usually DS1 and DS , DIL and GS and GD would also be here but eldest DS is working) but he isn’t complaining as he had Christmas Day and Boxing Day off, first time in 25 years, eldest GS is working and DS, DIL and GD are all full of cold so they thought it best to stay at home rather than spread it.
So it will be a smaller gathering than usual.

Nan2 we will keep the decs up till the new year but after that they will come down.

Daisy enjoy your day with your excitable GD .

Plant how is your SIL’s mother ?

Oma how are the ankles ?

Hope all our ladies are well

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

After an enjoyable couple of days it’s quite nice to be on our own today. We both had a good nights, Ive been for my walk and soon I will cook turkey curry. I have turkey and ham in the freezer and lots of cheeses to eat up so we’ll be ok. I think this afternoon we will catch up on some of the tv we’ve recorded and just take it easy. It’s dry today and not cold so might have another walk this afternoon. Have a good day everyone 🌞

                            Evening each!
I would just like to report that my decs are down and put away all but two Christmas ornaments which will stay until 12th night. In my defence I will say that I have had them up since 14th December. (up for ‘Christmas Starts Here’ festivities)
My thoughts are now turning to gardening, and what to do next year. It makes me happy 😁🌼🌹🌱
I do hope all poorly people are feeling better.
When I can think of something inspiring to say I will report back!
                            Sleep well folks.

Enfys - I hope you managed that second walk!

Oma - it's incredible that people will be queuing for the garden centre sale! but I suppose it makes a change from online shops' websites crashing because of the volume of traffic on Black Friday!

WeeGranny - I hope you had a good journey home. I'm sure you will sleep well in your own bed tonight.

Plant - your son sounds like a brilliant chef, and how lovely to have such a large gathering. Pleased to hear your SIL's mother is feeling better. It could have been so much worse, poor lady.

Grauntie - I was only thinking today those £1 bunches of daffs will be in the flower shops and supermarkets very soon. I love them - a promise of Spring in the depths of winter.

We've had a good but rather chaotic day. DS1 and Co arrived just after 11 am (fortunately we were up!!!) We'd decided in the end we'd all go over to DS2's to see the birthday girl and would take Eva with us, leaving DS1's dog, Bailey at our house. He's stayed with us often enough, so we knew he'd be ok.

DS2 and DIL had loosely planned the day that DIL's parents would go over and spend some time there, and then we would, rather than having us all at once and it getting very hectic. It didn't work out quite like that as DIL's parents were about 2 hours later than expected, and DS1 and DIL1 had to get back home for 6.30 this evening (1 to 1 1/2 hr journey away). So we all ended up there together. If we'd know we could have had lunch first and then gone over. It was all ok, but it would have been nice to see GD2 opening more of her presents etc. Anyway, the main thing was she had a lovely time and is so proud of being 6!

We had a late lunch back at our house and gave our GSs their Christmas presents. I do enjoy their company, and I'm so proud of what lovely young men they are becoming. After they'd left we cleared up and I've put my feet up and watched Call the Midwife on catch up.

Plant, hope SIL's mum continues to improve.

We are nipping out to the supermarket later. Just for bread and milk really.
I get enough milk to last the week, same goes for bread.
