    Good moaning each.
After one of ‘those’ nights I’m avoiding any kind of housework or anything much at all. I will sit here and read my book. We need fresh veg and fruit but if I send OH out on his own we will probably end up with cauliflower and swede and not much else, so I will have shop at some point today.
There is a box of Turkish Delight on the coffee table and it is calling me, trying to make me eat it...how long can I resist? It would be a terrible waste to put it in the bin...wouldn’t it?
    Have a good day ladies.

Terrible waste Grauntie. Eat it and get it out of the
way. I did the same with 2 Thornton's chocolates before breakfast!

            Good morning all.
I’ve just come in from a lovely walk along the walk / cycle track that runs along the side the fields that are just a few steps from where we live . We are very lucky here , turn right and we are near the local shop, turn left and we are in the country.
It was lovely to hear the birds in the trees and saw a few squirrels running back and forth across the path. So nice after the hassle and bustle of Christmas and new year.
On the way back home I posted an envelope full of used postage stamps I saved for the blind. It’s surprising how many I collected during December.

            How is everyone today .

Grauntie sit sit and relax with a good book, I might join you but I will pass on the Turkish Delight , it’s not ‘my cup of tea ‘

Daisy enjoy your shopping but don’t let OH carry anything too heavy, bad backs can be hell.

Really ladies, you really are going to explain this ‘ironing’ malarkey to me, has it got anything to do with a crumbled shirt that is languishing in the airing cupboard?

Gem I know someone who puts up their decs on the 1st November and she has had enough by Christmas, once she took them down Christmas night !!

Have a a good day everyone

Off to town in a bit to see if I can restock Christmas cards, crackers, wrapping paper & the like from the sales. I hope I haven't missed them & all the Easter displays aren't up yet.😉 Need to buy some birthday cards too. Always try to stock up this time of yr.

Our decs are down on the 12th night. I love them.

                Honestly some people.
I have just spoken to my neighbour.
She said to me “ Hasn’t it been terrible in the news over Christmas and New Year “
I said , “ Yes, it’s dreadful in Australia, all those fires and drought “
She said, “Good God no, all that’s happening in EastEnders “
Unbelievable !! You couldn’t make it up !

                  Afternoon ladies ,
I thought after the last two days I would sleep well …., I didn't
This morning I cleaned the windows put washing in then brought the glass tables in from the shed and had to wait till they warmed up a bit before cleaning them as they were covered in condensation , so while I waited I had my shower then hand washed my white Bra ,

We then went to Morrisons and Aldi ,

My Back and knees are giving my some pain today so im leaving the ironing till tomorrow.

House back to normal looks bare but will adjust in a couple of days to it

Mimi sounds a lovely walk I bet it was peaceful too xx

Gem you will be pleased to get a car again , hope your Mum is ok today

Nanto we both had the same thought get the windows cleaned

Daisy enjoy your shopping , hope J takes it easy with his back xx

Enfys two days out for lunch , you will be getting used to it you gad about Will your DD ring when she's half way ?

GM eat it get it out of the way and then no more temptation

Nana still lots in the shops they will be desperate to get rid now xx

Mimi I cant believe how people believe what's happening in the soaps , I don't watch them but my MIL tells me all about them and gets quite involved hahaha .

Oma, i cleaned the windows. Then made 2 corned beef, baked bean and mash pies for the freezer.

Tidied round the house, but didn't get the ironing done. Looks like a job for tomorrow.

Cold here today. Came really dark here about 1ish. Thought it was going to rain.
                    Brightened up a bit now.

Hello everybody and a happy new year , 2020 just slips off the tongue doesn’t it. We had a superb Sunday roast at Dds yesterday of course I taught her all she knows, we played a game the kids would love it as it’s about poo lol I’m not going into details but it was funny if not disgusting with it .
Today we took the decs down usually I find it quite bare but it wasn’t for some reason very odd but I didn’t put out as much this year and filled a charity bag full of stuff today.
We have Eldest coming for a sleepover tonight just because she asked bless her , but this is the first time she asked if she could sleep in one of the spare rooms, when I asked why she said because she is older now, I seem to have a lump in my throat mindst you she says that but wait till tonight she'll be in with grandma will let you know.
Oma that sounds a good plan for next year I’ve spoke to a few people my age that say they are not doing as much entertaining next Christmas I had my share this year .
Mimi I never watch soaps they are unreal, I did watch the first part of three about Dracula it was a bit gory but the longer it went on the more it was like a carry on film don’t think I’ll bother with the rest .
Brave woman Nana can’t face going down for essentials never Mind Christmas 🥴
Enfys your social life takes some beating at the moment good for you 😀

Gem I ve put a box of milk tray, dairy box, mint creams and chocolate Brazils away until those times of desperation .
Im in the doghouse today I’ve had candles burning on the manltepiece over the festive season, but the mirror above as a plume of black gunge now from the smoke so OH is chuntering as he cleans it ha ha .
Daisy poor OH bad backs are the pits I know, hope you don’t walk him too far .
Antibiotics done onto thrush meds’ now , it might be 2020 but nowt changes 🤨

Qwerty, have a lovely time with GD, she loves her GM. Hope the meds sort out your problem and make you feel more comfortable. Watch out those chocs don't go out of date, get OH to hide them.

Soaps, don't watch them. Mimi your neighbour needs to get a life as they say. Your walk sounds lovely, we can get straight into the woods but a walk in the open sounds more enjoyable at this time of the year.

Hope the bad backs and knees are feeling better.

I must confess to buying some Christmas cards at the garden centre last week, never done that before, hope I like them next year. I have a job to find suitable cards for friends who have had a bereavement, "Merry Christmas" doesn't sound appropriate and these cards had a more suitable greeting. Just been out to lunch with my DIL, I had some trousers I had repaired for GS and another couple of items so we met half=way and had lunch. They only live 20mins away but there is a nice cafe half-way.

Qwerty, candles make the ceiling black as well. I only use the on the hob, under the extractor fan.
Awww bless GD saying she is older now.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Qwerty - how lovely that GD is asking for a sleepover. They do grow up quickly these days, so perhaps she does feel brave enough to sleep in the spare room.

Plant - you are good doing repairs for the family. I hope you had a nice time with your DIL. I agree about cards for friends who have had bereavements, or other sad events. I try to look out for Christmassy ones that say something like 'thinking of you' or 'in my thoughts' - but they're not easy to find.

Oh, naughty Qwerty, blackening the house with candle fumes. I hope the marks cleaned off ok.

On the subject of chocolates, I always gift wrap a box of nice chocolates as a 'spare' gift, in case I've forgotten anybody. They are still lurking in our sideboard!! Now we can't waste them, can we!

Mimi - it sounds lovely where you live as well as being convenient. I get 'cabin fever' if I don't get out for a walk in the Forest every few days. It's so wet at the moment I've been taking Eva round the block, which is good for practising lead walking, but that's about all! We'll perhaps take her to the beach next week when it's quieter.

Grauntie - you'd better eat up those Turkish Delights in case I call round unexpectedly and you felt obliged to offer me one, and I felt obliged to take it out of politeness. It would be such a waste - like Mimi, I don't like them.

Nana - I hope you put your Christmas bargains in a safe place for next year! If I did that I'd forget I'd got them or wouldn't be able to find them.

Mimi - your neighbour does need to get a life. It really annoys me when news programmes report on storylines on the soaps as though they were real. Do you remember when Tony Blair was daft enough to support the "Wetherfield One" and it made the news!!

We celebrated the New Year with a trip to that big yellow Swedish shop! We know how to live. We called into Richer Sounds first (I've mentioned it elsewhere) and then on to the BYSS. My treat is to go right to the top of the car park, for the amazing view over Southampton Docks. I know I need to get a life as well, and today it was a bit disappointing. There were some huge container ships in but not many cruise vessels, and it was too misty. If there were more ships in they were hiding in the mist! Why it it in that shop within 5 minutes you want lunch! We resisted for an hour or so, but when we saw the sign saying how many steps we'd already taken in the shop we were a pushover!

We finally got a new rug for the hall and two new bedside rugs for our bedroom. OH got a new office chair and I got a new container for cooking spoons etc, a handheld two sided grater and loads of batteries for electric candles. As we were waiting by the checkout, I was telling OH about Oma and the paper napkins. She would have been in heaven - there were piles and piles of them.

Nana, as I mentioned on another thread I got several £7 boxes of Luxury crackers in Sainsbury's for 70 pence a box!
Oma my knee was very bad today. I lent on the trolley all the way around Tesco, and the 10 minute walk from there to mum's took me ages as I had to keep stopping. I felt like a very old invalid!
Qwerty enjoy the sleepover with GD1. Sorry about the thrush, it used to plague my younger days.
