Hooray for finding the slippers WG!
Mimi, I am always losing things like that! A pair of black summer cut offs were missing all last summer.
Plant, I hated dealing with nosebleeds when I worked with children. I have a bit of a phobia about them. In fact I felt very faint and thought I was going to black out once on a first aid course when the teacher kept going on about them. I haven't told DD, because if it happened on my watch I will have to deal with it and I don't want her worrying that I won't cope.

GS2 was very miserable and just seeming very unwell, not long after he got here. I think he was very tired, as he slept for over 2 hours on the sofa and woke up much happier and had something to eat. I think it will be a few days before he is back on form but hopefully he is on the mend.

        We’re waiting for Santa!

Well, the visit from the Nurse was very useful. She talked us through all the support we are able to access so I feel we have back up at the end of the phone 24/7. Also checked out how P was feeling and if we had any worries. She was very nice and put my mind at rest. Obviously she also touched on some topics which we have to face at some point but it had to be done. They also run a Day Centre and a careers group that we might find useful at some point. At the moment however, she will just check in with us once a month as P is doing very well healthwise, but at least we know they are there should we need them.

Nice to hear from you Qwerty. I got your message on messenger and have texted you 🙂.

Its been bitterly cold here and raining all afternoon so we battened down the hatches and stayed indoors. Out to lunch tomorrow.

Qwerty, lovely to hear from you. You have been away from UK soil far too long!

Enfys - yes, there's definitely a Christmas card feel about that picture. It's a lovely idea. It sounds as though the Nurse was very helpful and good that she checked how P was feeling too. When do you go on your little holiday?

Qwerty - hiya! Not long now till you're back in the UK. I hope you know where your thermal undies, wellies and umbrellas are - you'll need them after all that Spanish sunshine. Unfortunately OH's injections are likely to be taking place indefinitely. The time between them might increase if he's lucky, but at the moment it's monthly and seeing the consultant every 3 months. We're grateful he's able to have treatment, and his vision doesn't seem to be deteriorating.

So much for mowing the lawn this afternoon. By 2 o'clock it was pouring with rain and almost dark. I had a lovely catch up with 2 friends from College, and a nice lunch, so we just ignored the weather. The drive home wasn't much fun, though.

Gem - thank goodness GS2 is on the mend. I'm sure a nice afternoon with grandma helped as well. It must be very scary when you can't stop a bleed, especially with a very young child.

Gem and Mimi - when you find your cut off and dress would you check to see if my dog walking coat is there as well, please? I can't find it anywhere.

Pleased you found the nurse helpful.

                Lovely to hear from Qwerty.

Daisy, a pity you didn't get the grass cut,but hope the nice lunch made up for it.

                  Good morning ladies.

                  Raining here as well Nan2.
GS2 day today. GD has a bad cold and wasn't feeling well after school yesterday so I imagine she will come here too. DD will take them home at some point in the afternoon, then OH need to be at their house for 6pm to babysit. Hopefully the sleepover planned for tonight can take place another time.

                  Have a good Friday everyone.

Good morning. Dry dark and dismal here, it’s pouring with rain too. We are going out for lunch later and I wanted to pop to the shops first but I’ll wait and see if the weather changes.

I have had a funny dry sore throat for the last few days so am dozing myself up. My main problem is that I breathe through my mouth, especially at night and that doesn’t help.....neither does snoring!! We also changed our pillows and I’ve had such a stiff neck I think I’ll go back to my old one.

ive been watching the news about the dreadful fires in Australia. DS and family live in Adelaide and I saw pictures of the terrible smoke over Adelaide airport yesterday, which is where he works, it all looks awful. Also DgD is still out there, last we heard she was at the Great Barrier Reef so DD is trying to get in touch so that we know we’re she is. I know they will be sensible and not go anyway risky but these fires are all over the country and travelling at great speed.

Otherwise, not doing much else today, so keep dry and warm everyone ☔️💦

Good morning everyone. It's dark and dismal here too, but it's not raining although the air feels saturated.

Nanto - I'm glad you slept better last night.

Gem - Poor GD as well as poor GD2. Are you still looking after them at their house overnight? Yes, better to have the sleepover at yours when they're both better.

Enfys - those fires are devastating. You can't imagine how it must feel to have your home and everything go up in flames like that. I'm sure your GD will keep well away from them and I hope the fires around Adelaide are brought under control quickly.

It's a day at home for us. I've got plenty to do. How can the house get into such a mess when we've been out so much this week! It must be Eva!!!

Have a good day everyone - keep warm and dry.

Morning all, so far no rain but I am not holding my breath.

Enfys we had new pillows a few months ago and it took me a long time to get used to them , not so for OH, I swear he can sleep anywhere on anything!
Those fires are really scary but I’m sure your family will keep away from them .

We aren’t doing much today, just Tesco grocery delivery and waiting for my teapot to arrive ! We have decided to stop using tea bags when we heard about how they do not decompose when thrown either on the compost heap or in landfill. We did try using some brands that claim that they are environmentally friendly but they kept bursting in the cup. We did look in town for a teapot ( trying to shop on high street) but I was not prepared to pay £30+ for a basic teapot.

                        Have a good day ladies

Oh before I forget, Oma and other ladies who mentioned about Bon Marche closing down in their towns , the one here hasn’t anything on the windows or in store about closing down .

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Woke up late, but since I didn't turn my light out until midnight, it is hardly surprising. JL for me to return a present and then a food shop. Dark and raining here, I could go back to bed!

Got your message on Facebook Qwerty, you certainly need to get into warm clothes when you get back.

I love that card too Enfys, very pleased that you felt it was a good meeting with the nurse.

I hope they can get those fires under control soon in Australia, very frightening.

Gemini, I hope you and your poorly family will feel better soon.

Just quickly checking in from Gemini Children's Ward! GS a lot better than yesterday and the gland behind his neck which has been up for almost a week is now going down. He still has a runny nose so we are getting though a few tissues! No bleeding though.
Poor little GD is full of cold and looks poorly. I am keeping up with their Calpol and just keeping then hydrated and happy.
Daisy we are just looking after them at their house for the evening. We will come home when DD and SIL get in. There is room for us to stay but we'd rather get back.
