We all seem to be very busy at the moment, but Oma is excused because she usually leads the way and is entitled to a day off - or an off day. Glad your tea was a Turkish delight, Oma!!

Mimi - I do hope you've now had chance to talk to your DS and it's good news for him. We never stop worrying about them, do we!

Plant - good luck for your appointment with the specialist dentist. The sooner that tooth's sorted out the better, then hopefully you and your credit card can both recover.

Grauntie - I'm sure green hair would look lovely. So glad the TV has recovered.

Gem - I'm glad your library support group is going well. Our County Council has just announced the closure of 10 libraries and is withdrawing funding from 4 community-run libraries as well. I'm selfishly glad our GDs' local library isn't one of them - they would be devastated if that closed. I don't suppose you'll get much chance to drive your new car tomorrow with having GS2 all day. But hopefully on Saturday you can go for a nice run in it and get used to it.

OH kindly took my car to the car wash place before we met up with the Enfys's this morning, and it looked fantastic - until it rained really hard! Typical isn't it.

A day at home for me tomorrow. It would be nice if we could have a dry day. I wanted to take Eva for a long walk in the Forest, but after today's downpour everywhere is flooded again. It's not much fun when all the paths are mud baths, as well as being slippy if Eva decides to go a different way without warning me first.

          Good morning dear ladies.
          You were all busy yesterday!

My mum was on good form and had taken down her Christmas tree, got it back into it's box, taken cards down and put all Christmas decorations away. She had also pushed the heavy chair back into its non Christmas position. For a formerly very busy lady who is now virtually inactive I think doing things like at does her good! OH and I put everything away upstairs for her. I think she will miss seeing OH as much once I can come and go under my own steam again!

          Nan2, yes I will
Our friends are picking up OH at 10ish. I imagine allowing for the drive both ways, collecting the car and presumably having a coffee before they all drive back, it will be mid afternoon before my car arrives.
As you say Daisy I am unlikely to drive it today. I have GS2 and it will be dark when he goes home. Tomorrow I will try it out. It's a newer version of the same car so there should be no problem. It has been odd not driving for the past 3 weeks or more though when I drive most days normally. The first time after an 'incident' is a bit strange too, but I'm sure it will all be OK once I get going.

I'm looking forward to my day with GS2. No school pick up for GD though as I doubt my car will be back in time, and I prefer to try a shorter run for the first drive. She will go to after school club. I will miss her!

          Have a good day everyone.

Very exciting Gemini, you will be fine. Pleased your mother was in good spirits.

Good morning to you Nanto, have a good day.

Off to have my warfarin checked and then onto dentist. I do then plan to do my shopping, depends if I have had the tooth out or not. Will pop back later as must get a move on.

              Good morning, everyone.

Nanto - your graphic reflects the lovely sunshine we've got at the moment. It would be lovely if it lasts long enough to dry the garden up a bit.

Gem - it must have been lovely to visit your mum yesterday and see how active she had been. I know you worry about her a lot, but on days like that you must feel the cloud lifting a little. xx Are you going to give your new car a name? Was your previous one Bluebell?

Plant - I do hope the dentists goes well. Take care. xx

As I said last night, it's a day of chores for me. I've given the fridges a good sort out this morning before the bin men come. I have the urge to Spring clean. but don't worry, I shall go and lie in a darkened room until the urge passes.

So true about my mum - I worry a lot.
Don't overdo the spring cleaning today

Gem, no danger of me overdoing any sort of housework, ever, but the house looks tired and unloved after Christmas.

Good morning. Very bright and sunny here, chilly but very nice.

what a surprise I’ve had. An email from Hotpoint offering a new machine to replace mine which is one of the dodgy ones! It’s coming next Tuesday! Daisy, have you heard anything. I’m amazed at how quickly it’s been dealt with.

We both have jobs to do at home today so aren’t going out. P has films to edit for his video club and I still have stuff to sort out upstairs. I hope to get a walk in later.

Good luck at the dentist Plant, hope you won’t need to pass the hat round after 🙂. Don’t work too hard Daisy, watch that back. Enjoy your new car Gem 🚙.

Have a good day everyone 🌞

Went to Warfarin clinic, reading was a bit low. Then on to dentist, very nice man talked me through the reason they have to be careful and said he will remove the tooth on 14th Feb. another £90 paid for consultation, not sure what the extraction will cost but that should be the end until everything heals and then my dentist will bridge across the gap in about 6 months time, that will be about £900!!!!!. As Pam Ayres said in her poem "I wish I had looked after my teeth"

I hope you all had a nice sunny day like us. Daisy go easy with that desire to clean, clean, clean.

Well done Enfys, nice surprise from Hotpoint.

Afternoon one and all , back from my trip yesterday but didn’t get home till t time called to see some friends on the way back, we had a nice break it wasn’t quite as nice as it was when my DS married there, it was very cold in the hotel, I couldn’t get warm there had been a shift round in the bar/ lounge , there is an open fire which wasn’t lit till 8 ish and all the furniture had been moved further back in the room, you could have danced at the front there was so much room , but all you wanted to do was sit near the heat. What is it with these new chairs and settees I call them Alice in wonderland chairs , such tall backs must have been 8 ft tall, and the settees were covered in at the sides too so you couldn’t see anything couldn’t people watch , food mediocre, but some happy memories of my DS but wouldn’t go back .
Picked up the kids today they looked shattered , just about to make them tea, we have them back tomorrow for a sleepover it’s my dil birthday on Monday so they are going out for a meal with my nephew and wife tomorrow, no peace here for the wicked. My eldest g/ d won a trophy yesterday in gymnastics I’ll put a pic on later , hope everybody is s little better than when I left, hope your new car is just what you wanted Gem , oh and the Botox has kicked in yay !!!!

                            Good news about Hotpoint Enfys!
                            Expensive business dental work Plant.
Welcome back Qwerty. It's a shame it wasn't as nice as you hoped, but I'm sure the break did you good. Yay for the botox working

GS and I had a lovely day. Very busy, with Playdough, crafting, drawing, stories and some C Beebies. When OH and C and P returned with my car he had a lovely time playing with C. She has been brilliant with kids since we were kids!
My car is lovely but I haven't been in it yet. Tomorrow I will

Qwerty - what a pity the hotel couldn't find the switch to get the heating up to speed. Hotels are usually too warm, but it's awful when they are freezing cold. Thank goodness the Botox is working - you'll need all your energy again with sleepovers etc. I'm sure the twins are tired after their first week back.Hopefully they'll sleep well for you.

Plant - I'm sure you'll be glad to get this round of dental work completed. Yes, it is expensive.

Gem - I'm glad your lovely new car has arrived safely. Enjoy driving it tomorrow. What a lovely time you've had with GS (apart from the Playdough - does anyone else hate the smell of it?)

Enfys - well done to Hotpoint getting your washing machine sorted out so quickly. When we rang up about ours they said it wasn't one of the faulty ones, so it's business as usual here.

Oma - I hope you managed to catch the picture framers today. Strange the onions sprouting like that - perhaps it was the way (or time) they'd been stored before you got them.

I did quite well with the housework, and had a break this afternoon when a friend called round for tea and chat. Downstairs looks quite respectable now. Upstairs shouldn't take so long. I didn't get round to taking Eva out though. I missed the last hour of daylight with my friend being here. Never mind, I'll take her later when OH gets back - he's out for the evening.
