Nana, thanks, it is a different way of life, it took a while for me to get used to it, still not used to everything! Plant, you will be pleased with your bedroom. It has managed to stay dry for me to get the washing dry outdoors.

      Plant, rest that aching back!

We spent this morning sorting out a big bedroom cupboard. We made piles for Charity shop, throw away and keep. It looks better for it.
I had a cup of tea and chat with my mum. I wrote all the weeks of snooker in green in her new diary, and birthdays in red. She not really able to think far ahead now, but she only needs to look at the current week as I am around to keep her on track. Hopefully it will help though.
Snooker on Quest tomorrow, hopefully she will remember.

Gem - I know your mum looks forward to the snooker, so hopefully your reminders will help her not to miss any of it. Well done on the sorting out. It makes sense for her to have one freezer inside. I hope she feels the same way. xx

Plant - how funny you mentioning the Jay in your garden, that was exactly what I was thinking of when I said about unusual birds. They're so eye-catching and beautiful. Rest that aching back - you've done very well with sorting out your new bedroom.

Nanto - I bet gammon is lovely done in the slow cooker.

Good morning. Its dry this morning.

Daisy, the gammon was nice. Quite a bit left.

Gem, its lovely to get cupboards sorted out.

Speaking of birds in the garden,i've just been watching the robins.

Good morning, Nanto and all who pop in later. Your little chipmunks (?) are enjoying their autumn feast.

It's still dark and pouring with rain here - what joy! If that means it's gammon, egg and chips at yours today my OH will be there like a shot - it's his favourite.

I'm just off for a shower and then off to collect Cooper. GD1 is going on her first school residential trip today - I hope the weather improves for them.

            See you all later.

                Good moaning each.
The weather is very wet here in dry Essex, reputedly the driest county in England! Not much going on here today, it’s my afternoon for cards and now our ‘friendly’ league games are starting we will be playing more. My partner is my good friend but many couples play as partners. It is very entertaining when they start squabbling over who should have played what. 😆
Back on the diet after a very indulgent weekend, I’ve got until Wednesday to shift 2lbs. No cow pie for me.☹️
Re. the knitting, I really fancied a fair isle jumper for this winter, but they are so very expensive. Not surprising given the work involved. If only I could knit properly. I have full admiration for you ladies who do wonderful things like knitting in the round.

                  Morning all.

Daisy I’m sure your GD will enjoy her trip., whatever the weather. I remember seeing pictures of my DD rock pooling in the pouring rain in a big hooded waterproof coat ,on a residential school trip.

Libra it’s lovely that your fur babies are happy in kennels together.

Nanto I do gammon in the slow cooker. It’s so easy but really nice and with only two of us does several meals.

I want to make a cake today but can’t decide which one.

Bon voyage Libra and happy day to all.

                    Good morning everyone.
Nan2 your graphic reminds me of the squirrel we saw in our friends garden on Saturday. Through the window we saw it racing around the garden, through the fence into the next garden, returning later to scrabble in one of the large garden pots. Our friend told us he was digging out nuts he had hidden
Libra, have a wonderful time and come back and tell us all about it
Daisy, re the diary for my mum. Despite having spent the afternoon with her yesterday and her asking me several times what she had on this coming week (nothing until Wednesday) She phoned me not long after I got home. Asking me what she had on the next day!!!! OH and I talked about and and have decided that as well as the diary we need to buy a small wipe clean white board which Mum can keep in sight in the living room. I can then write all the days of the week on it, and fill in the days which have anything going on, each week.
I hope your GD enjoys her trip.

Today we are going to visit my auntie for the first time in her new apartment. We are looking forward to it, and we will go out to lunch with her.

Have a lovely holiday Libra, lots of sunbathing for you I hope.

Miserable here, although I don't think it is raining atm. I have to pop out and settle my bill for the new carpet and call at DS's and Dil's to pick up a coat, my passport a very small Swiss penknife I left at their house, didn't want it in my bag before we went to Madrid. Should be bowls this afternoon but my back is still sore.

Hope the school trip goes well, I am sure she will have a fantastic time.

I love crib Grauntie but generally I am not good at cards.

Love the squirrels Nanto, don't see many robins in our garden but one did pop in last week. They know we have a cat.

Good morning everyone from a miserable Wirral Peninsular I was hoping for a wee bit of sun to get through but not a chanse.
I am having troubles with my laptop again it is very slow in responding to my commands it looks as though I will have to purchase a new one shortly,I am going to see if "my man who can" will be able to start it up again from factory settings and see if that works I have had it 6 years so it may be on its last.
This week I am on baby minding duties for little Noah (GGS 17mths) am having him Wed/Thurs for his mummy & daddy they are both working and regular child minder has let them down so Friday I shall be in a state of collapse I think,we are off to get some baby goodies for him to have for lunch etc.

After a brief interlude yesterday afternoon, when the sun shone and the sky was blue, we've had yet another day of rain! We'll have webbed feet at this rate. DS tells me it was sunny and a balmy 20 C today with him!

Spent weekend at DD's and had a wet doggo and muddy GS to put up with! Thankfully, our favourite butcher ( Hall's of Hazlemere) supplied yummy sausages and bacon for a late breakfast. DD is so lucky having a good butcher near her.

Not much on this week so I can get done what I didn't get done last week. Tummy seems to have settled down and I certainly feel a lot better.

Did my shopping at Sainsbury's this morning because they have a covered car park so no getting wet going from car to shop!

Have promised GS a belated birthday cake which I'll take this weekend. We're staying there on our way to Brum to see Andrea Boccelli on Saturday night. Trains from here are being replaced by buses for part of the way and we prefer not to drive. So we're staying there and catching the train on Saturday morning.

Hope all poorly people......and pets, are on the mend x
