Had a lovely visit with our friends , She has settled fine but he is still unsure , they downsized considerably and he's still missing the space ,

We have decided our coast line is the ideal place for us to meet, they live near the coast at South shields and we are about the same distance from the coast in Sunderland so its easy for us all to meet in Sunderland , so that's settled

Sunny here at the moment, sheets out on line and I'm going to plant the bulbs which have been sitting on the kitchen waiting to be planted.

Supermarket shopping with OH was better than I expected. M&S was a bit of a nightmare, but I've found the best thing to do in Tesco's.....send him off to the cafe for a coffee and a bacon butty! I can go round undisturbed and meet him when I've finished! Sorted!!! Even got the car washed at the same time.

I made a Seafood Gratin a la Rick Stein for dinner ( saw it on his new TV programme last week) and though it was a bit of a fiddle it was really nice. Did some fried potatoes to go with it, a nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc and some trifle to finish. Two satisfied diners!

Wish we lived near the coast, Oma. It's one thing I don't like about living in the flat countryside round here, the other is the lack of hills. But hey ho, it's beautiful in its own way.

            Plant,your day out sounded lovely.

Mimi,i remember The Good Old Days on tv.

Must be milder today,i have had to turn the heating down.

Oma,nice that you've sorted a suitable meeting place.

Gem, hope S does well in the competition.

            Daisy,your Christmas cake looked scrummy.

All fine at mums except once again I had to throw food away in the fridge which was past eating.
Her lovely next door neighbours had brought her a Sunday dinner! It looked and smelled fabulous. Roast chicken with all the trimmings. Mum had eaten a tiny amount so I put the rest in the fridge under foil and hope she remembers to have some of it tomorrow.

DD3 is driving me to and from DD1's. Much as in a way I would love to stay at DD2's and be there when little GS wakes in the morning. I'm still not feeling 100%, so it will be nice to be back in my own bed!
OH isn't back yet, so I don't know how she got on this afternoon.

Gem - you're probably better off in your own bed tonight, especially if you haven't got to drive. I do hope you find some solutions this evening.

Nanto - it's been sunny here but not milder!

WeeGranny - I really appreciate living near the coast, even though we don't go as often as I'd like. the trouble is we're doubly spoiled since we only have to go outside to be in the New Forest. You did well to get washing out today. The Rick Stein recipe sounds absolutely delicious.

Oma - I'm glad you friend has settled. I hope hubby sees the benefit of being nice and cosy through the winter. Does he need a new hobby to keep him occupied?

Mimi - you didn't have to smash your pans and lids up. You could just have got new ones!!

We took Eva for a late run in the paddock. It was really cold once the sun had gone down, but she keeps warm running round. OH and I were freezing.

We haven't done much else today - a few loads of washing and a bit of tidying things away. Just off to portion up dog food, feed her and get our dinner. Mustn't get them all mixed up though!

Put some bulbs in today, still got two packs left and some spring plants.

I hope your OH did well in the competition Gemini.

My OH found it a bit difficult when we moved into the annexe Oma but mainly the bedroom.

I have an hours appt. with the dentist tomorrow, not looking forward to it but after I am picking up a jumper from Waitrose, from J.Lewis. I hope that cheers me up.

Plant I hope the dentist goes OK for you tomorrow. I will be at the dentist on Wednesday. I can't wait though as I have had a piece of filling missing ages and been waiting for this appointment!
Daisy, I hope that is the end of fireworks now until New Year, so Eva can enjoy her walks

                    OH's team won the competition

Daisy he doesn't do Hobbies , he did like pottering in the shed hammering bits of wood together , a family joke when he went out there it was always Oh God what's he trying to make now , ( he wasn't good )
Now he doesn't even have that , I have a feeling he isn't going to like living there ,
I asked how he liked it and his reply was well its different its taking time to get used to it

Plant you will feel better once its sorted x

There's so much going on here I can't possibly reply to everything. Sorry. What busy lives you all lead. Plant I'm pleased you enjoyed your outing. How's the table runner going? Oma is it your friend with lymphedema that's moved? I bet she'll feel the benefit. I really feel for her.

Daisy why is it that I go to look on some Grans media & can only see a few pics? On yours with the pumpkins it says 90+ pics but I can only see the one. How do I change the phrase that's included at the bottom of my posts? Don't know what it's called.

Nana - sometimes it just isn't possible to keep up with everything. Don't worry. To be honest, I don't know why it says 90+ pics on my Media - I'll go and have a look in a minute. The phrase at the bottom of your post is called your Signature. You can change it by going into your Profile and scrolling down until you see "Signature", make any changes you want and then scroll right to the bottom and click on SAVE on the right of the screen.

Oma - oh dear, poor chap. It sounds as though he will need something to do or perhaps something social. Would he volunteer for any organisation - there are lots of people in need of help of one sort or another.

Gem - well done to S on winning the competition. I bet she was delighted. I was a bit surprised that there were a few tonight. No respect for Remembrance Day.

Plant - I also have a dental appointment tomorrow. Hopefully just a check up and then the hygienist. Then it will be a mad dash back to collect Cooper from our house and off to pick GD2 up from the shop. Mum will collect her from school, so I don't have to worry about being late.

Daisy although he was a Fire chief then in the Police he is actually a very shy private man , He is fine with us but cant take crowds or too much noise .
Wearing the Mask going into fires he has become very Claustrophobic so doesn't like anywhere that is a bit closed in , even when we go into a café he's up and down in and out all the time . We are used to him so take no notice when he disappears and don't comment when he comes back , so cant see him doing Volunteer work
