Oma, pleased to hear the good news about Clare. I hope B is feeling better. It is horrible when you drop something, it is a job to know where to start. At least you didn't have Storm.

Very dull here, sil says it is forecast to improve next week. I might, I say might pop to the garden centre to find a few plants. It is a very large one so I should be able to keep a distance away from others.

Daisy is right Nanto, how do you run two homes.

      Afternoon all.
I have just put my Tesco grocery delivery away. It takes ages now that we wipe everything over in antibacterial wipe .
Also I have actually managed to book a Tesco delivery slot a few minutes ago . I usually have to sit up at midnight to get the slots as they become free as they are gone within an hour , it's so unusual to see free slots during the day .
I know the delivery is for 16th July but it's a huge improvement for what has become the norm.

      Oma , butter fingers !

Its another wet day here and it doesn't feel very warm either, I'm dammed if I am going to put the heating on

Just talking to B about this morning,
i was telling him I was standing at the back door at 4.15 this morning listening to the dawn chorus from the birds , it was so still and peaceful I thought wouldn't it be lovely just to have a walk about in the quiet , not practical for a woman on her own to be walking about at that time of the morning especially all the trees around us but I would have loved to have gone on a ramble about before anyone was up and about .

Spoke to DD last night and she was feeling a bit like you.
She and SIL are members of the National Trust and they enjoy just going for a ramble, just seeing the beautiful peaceful areas they have visited. She says she enjoys wondering what they will se around the next corner or building and she is missing that very much.
As they live in Wales at the time of typing this there are more restrictions there than in England . She is longing to get out and about

A weird weather day here! Sunshine and heavy showers. Our friend who called in had to leave earlier than any of us would have liked as it got too unpleasant for an outdoor visit to continue!
Its calm again now and the sun is coming out, but lots of dark clouds still about.

Oma, you would need Storm with you for that walk.
Mimi, our neighbour says he only gets the Sainsbury's delivery slots by going online in the middle of the night if he wakes! Well done getting the next one.

              Evening All.
Exhausted of Essex here. Why is it that every time I plan my day, a certain someone comes up with an urgent task which needs my input? Today I had planned to make a card for GD1’s birthday on Monday. She will be 13, and I wanted to make her a special card that involved fiddley stuff. Instead of doing this I had to go to the farm shop, (didn’t mind that too much) then B&Q to look at ladders! OH has got vertigo or something, diagnosed over the phone, so I wasn’t happy with him going by himself. Then he moaned a lot about the lavender hedge at the front drooping over the lawn and it being difficult to mow under! Then it was the agapanthus. The flowers are forming and I needed to stake them all, and on and on...he is not allowed to touch any plants-he doesn’t know the difference between flowers and weeds.
I have sat down now and here I will stay until bed time.
I hope you all had a good day! 😁

I hope you get the card done tomorrow Grauntie!
I feel sorry for the people of Wales with the stricter ruling Mimi, especially the 5 mile limit. I hope that changes soon, I can't see how that helps.

A mostly wet day here today. I am hoping the forecast is right for tomorrow, zero percent chance of rain, as we are going to see friends we haven't seen since before lockdown. No point going to sit in the garden if it's going to rain

                      Morning all

Apparently the five mile rule is under review in a fortnight. Not that it makes much difference to me though DS1 will be able to visit. with a clear conscience as he is about 8 miles away. I am shielding but will go mad if I can’t see someone I love in the flesh soon.Saying. that, today is the first time he is coming for a garden visit. We hope to go for a distanced walk first, no idea if that’s officially allowed. So confusing!

I’m going to get a paper this morning . They are outside the shop and you throw the money in an honesty bucket!

All the heavy rain rain lately has resulted in a leak in the roof. I spent a fortune having repairs done on it only last year. To be honest the whole lot should probably be replaced but that would be Monopoly money. A surveyor is coming in ten days to have a look. I have seagulls nesting behind the heating vent so repairs would have to be done when they’ve gone as they attack anyone going near.( past experience)

I hope we all have a good day and poorly people feel better as the day goes on.xx

A very quick 'good morning' from me. We're visiting some friends this morning for a socially-distanced coffee and to see their brand new caravan which they got at the end of last year and haven't been able to use! So back later.

It still looks showery here, so taking brolly and raincoat - again!

                          Good morning ladies

Oh Oma, thank goodness DD is bringing those napkins, emergency situation!!!!
Enjoy the visit Daisy, I hope the weather is kind.
Nan2, your post reminded me we have no sweet peas. This is the first year since we have lived here that OH hasn't grown any. The seeds didn't take.
Clover, a man on another forum I use is in Wales and like you says he really has no idea what is and isn't allowed. As I'm sure it must be for you it is hard for him hearing the rest of us having a lot more freedom. You and DS do what you need to xx

The sun is out here and the weather is as it said on the forecast! The rain prediction for this afternoon had changed from 0% likelihood of rain to 51% though so that's not as promising.
This afternoon we are going to friends for a garden visit. We have not seen them since before lockdown. One of the couple works in the NHS, the other retired. They have no car and live several miles away, so it means us going there unless they come by bus, so we are going there. It is one friends birthday on Tuesday and part of the reason to see them is to take her card and present. However.. . the main part of her present has not yet arrived from Body Shop. Unless it comes this morning (fingers crossed) I will have to go back over to drop it off before Tuesday.

                          Have a good day everyone.

Very late checking in, I needed to get some plants I bought yesterday into pots, almost done but the rest will have to wait until tomorrow, I know my limits.

I should carry on doing what you have planned Clover, I think your need to see someone you love in the flesh is very important for you.

Grauntie, I hope you were able to get your GD's card made, it did turn out to be a very busy day for you yesterday, your managed to report in to Word Play

Gemini, enjoy your garden visit, I hope it stay fine for you and your friends.

That could have turned into an emergency Oma, only one packet of napkins left, DD to the rescue.

Haven't grown sweet peas for years Nanto, they are such beautiful colours, enjoy them.

Daisy, I hope the rain keeps off for the visit to your friends.

Sorry to hear B still isn’t feeling well Oma. Best to get it checked out I agree.

Much the same here, although P has eaten a bit better the last couple,of days. I put his food on a smaller plate which I think suited him better, didn’t look quite so daunting. Today had sweet and sour chicken, a small portion and he polished it off. Still very breathless, waiting to pick up new meds so we shall see how it goes. Otherwise, a very lazy day here, I put a load of washing out this morning and it poured with rain 10 mins later so since then I’ve had it on the clothes horse in the conservatory and it’s bone dry now.

He’s going to be watching the Bournemouth football match later so it’s back to Call the Midwife for me, I’m really enjoying watching it again.

Have a good weekend everyone 🌞
