We watched Jurassic World on TV tonight. All highly far fetched but great fun!

It isn't raining.
Gem, glad you managed to shake off your low mood.
I got up early,so most of my jobs have been done.
Post office will be opening about now, need to post a letter to friend in Australia.
Decided dinner will be chips, scampi and peas, with tartar sauce for hubby. I can take or leave the sauce.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.
Nan2, OH went to our Post Office last week and it was quiet and well organised. Once again I forgot to put scampi on the last shopping list! Now you have mentioned it I will pop it it on the list for Friday.
The first of OH's 3 golf days today (they increased the days you can play from 2 to 3) This morning I will go to my mum's. The washing machine there is now full, so I will put that on then bring it home to dry. There are a few things I can be getting on with there that don't need an extra pair of hands. No other plans for the day.
Have a good day everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Off to the tent in the doctors surgery car park this morning for the injection for my bones. I presume my blood test was okay as they haven't been in touch. Dull here but at least it isn't raining. I have to get a shift on so I will pop back later. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

I like tartar sauce, but I also like tomato ketchup (Tizzy thought I was heathen because I have it on scrambled eggs with smoked salmon) It's always a big decision, which to have on fish and chips and scampi!

Good morning one and all. We've got patchy sun and a bit of a breeze, but it could go either way - there are some dark clouds up there.
Last night OH and I said we'd have an early start this morning. We failed! I didn't wake up till just before 9 am and OH never wakes up till I send Eva to jump on his chest!
After all that talk of scampi I meant to order some as well - and forgot. I like tartare sauce and ketchup (not together) but I also like mayonnaise on chips, so it's a real dilemma what to choose!Did anybody's children or grandchildren go through a phase of wanting tomato ketchup on everything except cake! One of mine did!
Oma - I don't see enough telly to notice repeats and OH will watch pretty much anything that moves. I did watch a bit of Casino Royale the other night - the high-rolling card game. Even though you know Bond is going to clear the table it's still tense to watch the cards being turned over.
I'm so impressed with grannies who get up early and get all their housework done before breakfast. OH has just been speaking to a friend and he and his wife are coming round for a coffee tomorrow at 10.30. Both OH and I said in chorus - "we'll have to get up early then"! These friends only live about 6 miles away and they had no rain yesterday while we had a real downpour that has left all the doorsteps, pots and furniture splattered with mud. I'll have to hose them all down later!
Plant - I hope your injection goes ok. It sounds very painful, but I hope it isn't.
Gem - I hope S enjoys the golf. She must be so pleased to have an extra day. I hope you get done what you need to at your mum's, but be careful with your back. xx

Good moaning each.
I have to report the pud was a success, and the gift of 10 more puds with suggestions was met with ecstatics. SiL has chosen pineapple upside down cake (with custard) for his next pud.
Scampi sounds good Nanto2, I have some in the freezer.
Oma we are heartily fed up with the repeats. We watched Carousel the other day, I have no idea why!
Nothing exciting here today, I have to mend a bit of horsey kit for DD1 and finish the dreaded knitting as far as I can whilst waiting for the extra ball to arrive. I only hope the different dye batch isn’t going to be noticeable.

Grauntie - I'm glad the pud was such a success. What a wonderful present, and I can imagine how delighted your SIL is! It sounds as though he's a custard fan! I hope the extra ball of wool matches perfectly after all your hard work.

Bit brighter here than yesterday, but showers and cold wind are threatened. The local church has just opened up a Food Hub, so I took the excess stuff from food parcels along. Better getting use than sitting under the stairs. The Food Bank declined to collect it and at that point I couldn't take it to them. So it's been waiting for lockdown to be eased before going somewhere.
Some climbing plants arrived the other day, so I really should go and get them planted. They're growing well in the box ( I took most of it off but left a bit to support them). Otherwise, I have no idea what I'm going to do for the rest of the day. The bed is needing changed and I could probably get them dried in this breeze, so will probably do that.
Having gone on the scales this morning, I do not like the way they're heading, so a rethink of my eating and exercise routine is called for.......and quickly!! Says she after having just eaten an iced bun on jam!
I've just undone a sweater after running out of wool and started again in the smaller size. The one I'd originally started was HUGE! This looks much better. I have the yarn for a cardigan to do next. Still working on my cross stitch and the odd bit of painting and quite a lot of reading!
Haven't made proper puddings since I don't know when! OH isn't a pudding person and neither were the DC, so it seemed pointless making them just for me. So I got out of the habit. Brilliant idea for your pudding lover SiL, GM.
Gazpacho used to be a dinner party staple when we lived in OZ. Again haven't made it for a while, but that's something we do enjoy. Will keep an eye out for it ready made!
Enjoy the day ladies xBelieve you can and you're halfway there.

Sort of weak sunshine for us, I don't think we were forecast rain. Had the jab this morning for my bones, the nurse said it was my 6th so I need to have a bone scan before the next one early December, must remind the surgery to arrange it. Just made a batch of scones, taken some next door.
Your Sil does have a great taste in puddings Grauntie and I expect he is stick thin. Grauntie I hope your new batch of wool matches, I thought I was going to run out of yarn on my latest project but I just made it. Now waiting for another batch of yarn and pattern, I like the King Cole patterns and yarn, this one is Opium
Oma, I think they have run out of programmes we haven't seen so they are nearly all repeats. I don't mind repeats of programmes like Vera, I am really pleased to have Netflix.
Daisy it is good that you are both late sleepers, it would be awful if one of you is up with the lark.

Good afternoon all.
I must take this opportunity to vote on the tartar sauce debate, I love it but I would have to pass on the scampi, I don't like it all
Grauntie I'm pleased the pudding was a success, now on to pineapple upside down cake , again , thats something I used to make. I do tend to think of Dad's Army whenever its mentioned as private Godfrey used to mention his sister's pineapple upside down cake, though where they would have got pineapples from in war time I don't know.
It's been a far better day today production wise, yesterday I didn't get much done but today so far I have several loads of washing drying outside, the flat has been dusted throughout and the boarders at the top of the back garden have been tidied up. All the flowers that were blown about in the strong winds have been cut down with a hope that they regrow.
I then cooked spaghetti bolognese for lunch and cooked a baguette for tea . We will have it with some of the thick cut gammon I had in our grocery delivery.
On the subject of TV we watched the last of Killing Eve last night and as the ending might suggest, will there be another series.
Apart from that we stumbled upon reruns of the Bill . We don't watch it so much for the story lines but to comment on how everything looks so dated and when an actor, then unknown, comes on screen we say... 'Oh, now what was he in '?
We were discussing where or what shall we do for our 47 th wedding anniversary tomorrow. After much debate we decided to stay at home for a change, we are always going out every night painting the town red !! Some hope
Hope I find you all wellBring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi - I think you've managed a week's productivity before lunch today! Slow down, Oma will be getting even less sleep trying to keep up with you. xx If we watch reruns of really old programmes we're the same plus we find ourselves saying things like 'you never see <them> now, do you!'
Plant - my DS2 has Netflix and the GDs love the children's programmes on there. Glad the injection went ok.
WeeGranny - well done on finally finding a good home for the unwanted food at last. It sounds as though you're keeping busy with some nice things, not all chores!
Grauntie - being very old and growing up in a corner shop, I can remember tinned pineapple being 'on allocation' after the war. The wholesaler would get some in and deliver it to the shop where it would go straight under the counter and would be offered to 'good' customers. Tinned salmon and other tinned fruit were the same.

Grauntie, pleased the pudding was ok this time.
I haven't made a pineapple upside down cake for years. All this talk has made me fancy one.
Sun has been shining since 5.30, pity it didn't shine earlier in the day.
Daisy, better set your alarm for in the morning. You don't want to still be in bed when your friends come.
I think we are going to watch the programme about Monte Carlo tonight.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
