Good morning, it’s dry here at the moment but the sky looks very heavy so I think we’re in for more rain.

DD invited me out for breakfast again but I slept in late and didn’t want to rush so said no this time. I’ve been feeling exhausted and very achy, I think it’s a delayed reaction to everything, I seem to fall asleep at the drop of a hat, I get my book out or pick up my knitting but then fall sleep. I think my body is trying to tell me something.

So I’m still in bed, feeling very lazy. Will have my shower then just take things slowly. If things don’t improve I will speak to my doctor but I’m sure it will ease over time.

Daisy, my doctor told me that anxiety can cause all sorts of physical symptoms, hope Your DS feels better soon. Have a good day everyone.

Enfys, it's such early days for all you have been through. Emotional stress gives physical symptoms. Sleep and rest in general are the best cure, go wit your body. getting out and being occupied is so good for you just now, but when your body says rest you should xx

Oma, when my doctor put me on anti inflammatory meds, (Naproxen) he also gave me some Omeprazole, which are to protect the stomach from the side effects of the tablets. Just wondered what he out you on.

Enfys they gave me Naproxen too and I also already take Lansoprazol for stomach but they didn’t even touch the pain even when I took a extra one .

Having a lie in is what your body is telling you to do , you must need it . Stress and tension can cause physical symptoms you don’t expect , you could also be run down and need a boost , a word with your Dr would be a good idea but remember it’s early days everything is so raw xxxx

Enfys, just let it all happen, sleep when you want, cry when you want, it is not being lazy.

WG, I hope your SIL soon gets to know what it is.

I went to my therapist this morning, she took a look at my leg, not thrombosis but congestion that could lead to thrombosis, a combination of all the heat we had and not being able to exersice, so, I must do what she told me to do, exercise in moderation etc, she even gave me special compression for the night so I do hope it all clears. I have brought my exercise bike back upstairs as she said to use it for 15 minutes before going to bed, I have to go back next week so I hope there is an improvement.

Lizzie my friend has been having lots of problem with her legs (lymphodema ) and the support stocking are so hot but a necessity aren’t they .

Took MIL for curtains , went to The Range , Dunelm , Matalan and a couple small places she liked none we seen out of hundreds
Then she looked at rugs , again liked none , didn’t like the sofa cushions either so we at a loss where to take her now , Sister in law taking her to Town on Monday fingers crossed she finds something then we don’t have to do it all again .

Having to laugh at your MIL Oma, hard to please!!! Yes, the support stockings are hot, I had an idea the pain was from the lymphodema, often I won't accept what I have but now I have to!

Wee Granny - yes I got the blood test sorted. I was very impressed at how well organised the surgery is. The nurse was lovely and I was in and out in a few minutes. It didn't cross my mind until I'd done it - but there's not much point in putting lippy on when you're wearing a mask!

I noticed there were notices up about flu jabs at the surgery, but not starting until 19 September. We don't usually bother until well into October, but perhaps this year we should go earlier. The drive through sounds a great idea.

I haven't spoke to DIL yet this morning - I'll do it later. She's got so much on her plate at the moment, but DS has been told to keep device use to an absolute minimum.

Enfys - as everyone else has said, you need to give your soul and your body time to regain strength, to grieve and to rest. Be kind to yourself. Sending hugs. xxx

Lizzie - the hot weather can be very unkind, can't it. Doing some exercise just before bed sounds a good idea - it will help your circulation while you are asleep. Fingers crossed it's much better by the time you go back next week.

Oma - oh dear. It sounds as though your MIL has got a very fixed idea in her head of what she wants, but nobody does it! You're very patient traipsing round all those shops. Perhaps she needs to see soft furnishings in situ before she decides. I've just ordered a couple of new throws in different colours for our bed from Dunelm because I couldn't decide - well I could, but the colour I wanted was out of stock! So I can send either or both back if I don't like them.

I think it's hard to choose rugs, especially online. You see one you like and then realise it's totally the wrong size. I hope your SIL has more luck.

I hope you're feeling a bit better and are taking it easy, young lady! xx

Gem - yes, it's hard for DS. He's not used to feeling unwell and is always on the go. It feels like everything is in limbo at the moment, but we're all on edge hoping he gets a firm diagnosis and a treatment plan as soon as the quarantine period is up.

You've got a busy day - I'm sure the GCs will enjoy the excitement of your new fridge freezer arriving. I'm sure you could do without the rain, though. Friday night takeaway sounds nice.

Nanto - is it fish and chips for you today?

We've still got sunshine, but the lawn is too wet to cut and could become a stage set for a remake of The Jungle Book!!

Yes Daisy,it was fish and chip day. We don't eat many of the chips, the birds get most of them.

                    Still raining here.

Oma, hope MIL gets sorted on Monday.

Torrential showers here! Luckily I did an online aerobics class this morning because I don't fancy getting caught in one of the downpours somewhere along the river with no shelter!

Just heard that SiL is being discharged from hospital. On sick leave and will be seen as an outpatient. The tumour is causing the problems he's been having, but there's nothing immediate they can do. Such a relief...and thank you all for your kind wishes.

Have booked a couple of days in Somerset next month before DS goes back. I think the older generation must be taking holidays next month, it was a nightmare to get somewhere! I shall miss him when he goes as he's been quite a help with OH.

We're having fish pie tonight, but I quite fancy fish and chips now!

Just had GS DD and Storm , of course GS wanted feeding again , no idea where that boy puts it all

Phoned Son in law and asked about rugs for MIL , he doesn’t have any but said if there is any carpet she likes he can cut some and have the edges whipped so we taking her to his unit during week to have a look , if she can’t see any carpets out of the hundreds he has she would have as rugs we giving up and leaving it to Martin to try .

Gem has Freezer arrived yet ? Did you get the other one moved ok .

WG make the most of your time with DS it will pass far to quickly

WG - I'm sure it will feel quiet when DS has to go back, but it will be good to have a short break before then. What a relief that your SIL is being discharged from hospital. Will they eventually be treating the tumour by shrinking it or haven't they said yet? If he's anything like my DS he will be relieved to be home where he can relax in comfort.

Oma - your GD1 is a growing lad!!! All that food is needed to fill their hollow legs. I was wondering if your SIL could find the perfect rug for your MIL. Surely she'll find something she likes in his huge stock.

Enfys - I hope you've had a quiet relaxing day and a few nana naps. You must be exhausted and really do need the rest. xx

Clover - are your DD and family still with you? If so I hope the weather's been ok and you've been able to get out and enjoy it. xx

Nanto - our local chippie always give us huge portions of chips (the owner used to be a neighbour!) and we usually have one between us and still can't finish them!

We've had some very heavy rain today - the sunny start didn't last! I haven't felt like doing much for some reason. I ironed about 4 items this morning, and had a little nap after lunch. I've just faffed about all afternoon, and made cauliflower cheese with a side salad for dinner, and that was it!

Good morning Oma and all who follow.

I hope Nanto is having a relaxing lie in, as she's usually the early bird amongst us.

It's dull and chilly here. I'll have to get on with a few bits and pieces and need to get a move on as I'm feeding our neighbours' cats and they will be wondering where their breakfasts are!

                                Back later.
