I love the smell of playdough 😊
GS brought one of his Christmas presents, a playdough fire engine with him. A bit gimmicky, I prefer just playing with playdough!

Not keen on the pong but happy to play!
We have just been to our local Indian restaurant with friends. There was a large party as well as us. It was a retirement do for a hospital consultant. It was fine until they started the speeches. By the time we left there had been 7 speakers and they were still going strong!
Off to bed now, night night all.

Grauntie you would have thought they would have had a private area or room wouldn't you ,
Not everyone wants to listen to someone's speech's when out for a quiet meal

Daisy yes the Framers was open pick it up next Friday , he has a little unit on a industrial estate , only him no other staff , he is building a steady business up after leaving the Army ,
We try to support the little firms if we can , not always the cheapest or possible to do but we try

As for the onions we only had them a few days , but lord knows how long the shop had had them , they were in a bag and you cant always tell their freshness can you , that's why I rarely buy bagged ones I usually buy loose , that will teach me to make the effort to go to the grocer rather than supermarket

Gem funny enough we were in Aldi the other day and overheard two women talking about Play Dough and one was saying it stinks and sticks to the carpet , the other one was saying she doesn't have that problem she has wooden floors
I like the smell but it does stick everywhere , my boys loved it .

Qwerty what a shame it wasn't what you hoped for , next time choose a different hotel , we were there a few weeks ago but stayed at the Crown it was lovely and food superb xx

Been up since 4am so going to get housework done , out later to pick up a new tall storage cupboard for the bathroom , I have one behind the door had it since we moved in 15 years ago ,
Love it its very slim and tall but starting to drop to bits now so time to get rid

Hope everyone is ok speak later xxx

Had an early morning visit from DS1. Dropped a couple of things off for his dad to look at.
Hubby loves to get something broken and try to mend it.
So, just Asda shopping for us today.

Oma,hope you manage to get your new storage unit.

Enfys, well done for the replacement washer.

            Good morning ladies.

Nan2, my OH is a fan of trying to mend things, and usually succeeds. There are often projects on the bench in the garage!

When I was a playgroup leader of course, I made all the playdough for work and also for home, Oma, so my DDs rarely had bought playdough. No nice smell though I think I made it once when GD was tiny, but I just buy it now.

Today I will become acquainted with my car. I will check it all out as some things slightly differ in this model which is 10 years younger than my last. I need to put my Mickey Mouse aerial topper back on, then I will know it's my car
All the Christmas stuff, which is in a bedroom is to go up into the loft today.
I am meeting DD and GS1 for lunch. I haven't seen them since Boxing Day, so have missed them!

            Have a good day everyone.

Good morning. Very wet and dull here but still mild.

Just about to FaceTime the family in Australia so will enjoy chatting to them. Then DH wants to go out so we’ll probably go to the garden centre and have a coffee and a little mooch.

I have some knitting projects I want to,start so fingers crossed zi can do that this afternoon, but I want to make a cake first so I’ll be busy.

Some people have had problems sorting out their washing machines but it’s gone very smoothly for me.

Enjoy getting to know your car Gem, always exciting. We’ve had ours for 3 years and still finding out how things work!

Have a good day everyone ☔️

Enfys, one thing I am excited about it the time correcting itself at the end of March! I have often driven around for 6 months, adding or subtracting an hour from the time on my dashboard

Good morning everyone. Wet windy and dark, here. Such joy!

Enfys - I'm sure your family had lots to talk about when you Face Timed them. You are going to be a busy bee today. What kind of cake are you making?

Nanto - my OH is another one for mending broken things, but he's got so much junk in the garage he can't work on the bench, but he's also got his wood turning shed, but that's getting overcrowded, too.

Gem - home made Playdough is lovely, and I love the smell of plasticine, but you don't see that these days. Is it still made? Enjoy getting to know your new car. I've got a friend who keeps a table tennis ball on her aerial so she can find it in a car park. I'm like Enfys - still finding out what half the buttons are for on mine which I've had about 6 months! I liked the manual time change on the clocks in my previous cars. I used to leave it on BST all year to reassure me in the depths of winter spring and summer will follow. Enjoy your lunch with DD and GS1.

Grauntie - how annoying to have someone else's speeches foisted on you. The restaurant should at least have warned you.

Oma - well done for finding places like your picture framing man. When I was involved with it I got quite interested - there's much more to it than I realised. But I really enjoyed helping people to find the right combination of frame and mount - there's so much choice.

No firm plans for us today. Bit of washing and a bit more housework is as exciting as it will get.

Thinking of all the poorly and sad ones, though. xxx

Qwerty, sorry the hotel wasn't up to scratch, try another one next time.

In my nursery work it was plasticine, not sure when playdough came in.

Gemini, enjoy your first drive in your new car, have you Christened it yet?

Not sure how my day is going to pan out, I think we are seeing and possibly going out to lunch with Sil's mother, she is back on her feet and the family have organised a live-in carer for a few weeks. The carer doesn't do housework or cook apart from microwave meals. I suppose she would wash and dress her but she doesn't need that. My lovely Guiding friend moved into a McCarthy and Stone flat yesterday, I am wondering how her first night went, might give her a ring. I also want to see my GS3 today before he goes back to Birmingham University tomorrow.

Morning all. It’s a wet drizzly day here.
We are waiting for the last plumber to arrive this morning and then we have all the quotes we will decide which one we think is the best, not necessary the cheapest. When the first plumber arrived our cat ran and hid, she sat and stared at the one who came yesterday, perhaps she knows something we aren’t aware of ?

I can not bare the smell or touch of plasticine or playdough.
When I was a child I would give my sister any plasticine that I had given to me as a present. At school I would feel extremely nauseous if we had to do pottery as I hate the feel of the clay .
Also , Blue tack, can’t touch that without feeling nauseous... I a delicate little soul aren’t I 😉😆

We have talking about our garden at the back of the patio . One area is extremely damp, even through a long hot summer. The grass grows more moss than grass so we are going to widen the boarder and plant some shrubs there which will hopefully soak up the rain that runs from our neighbours garden into ours. Their lawn dips towards our fence and we think that’s what is making it so damp.
Also we are not growing any potatoes or tomatoes this year , we are just planting a few planters with flowers, we both feel we aren’t up to doing too much .

Good grief Plant , who would have thought hanging on to your teeth could be so expensive!

Enfys I thought of you when I heard on the news about Hotpoint offering to replace faulty washing machines, I should think so , they do appear to have dragged their heels when it comes to how they have responded to the on going problem. I would think all of this has done considerable harm to their sales

Have a a good day everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi we had the same problem , our neighbours garden is slightly higher than ours being on a slight gradient ,
Our Garden was always wet , we had 4 lots of turf put down and it all died off , that's why the back is Astro turf and the bit down the side of the drive we had paved ,
Its annoying but the lay of the land cant be altered can it

I think you should listen to Puss maybe , they do sense things about people

Plant its a McCarthy & Stone apartment my friends have moved into , lovely but very small .
Send our regards to your handsome grandson from us , such a nice young man xx

When hubby gets in the shed or garage, he loses all track of time.
He's fixed one thing, just looking at a Gtech hoover for someone.
Good job he's got heating in there, because i think its turned quite cold now.

Mimi, we don't grow veg, just flowers/plants and tomatoes. Well i say we its hubby that does all the growing. He loves to grow tomatoes.

Plant, good to hear SIL's mother is back on her feet.

GS3 just gone, he was his usual charming self. He finishes at B'ham after Easter his third year, then he will be working with a company for a year before going back to B'ham for his final year. His degree is called a fat sandwich Masters degree and is 4 years plus a year out working an internship.

Hope your OH appears out of his shed before bedtime Nanto.

I'm sure you enjoyed seeing your GS Plant.

I hope everyone's day has gone well.

OH came with DD and GS1 and I for lunch to our favourite cafe in the village. We then had a look in one of the charity shops, where GS bought yet another soft toy. He has dozens!!!
I drove OH to the golf club a couple of miles away this afternoon, to collect her forgotten body warmer. The car felt fine, but a bit different, which may be because I haven't driven for a while. It's very smart, I will take a photo as Oma requested

Gem - your new car sounds lovely, and I'm sure you will soon get used to it. Even two cars of the same age and model can feel quite different. I look forward to seeing a photo.

Plant - very best wishes for your lovely GS3 for his final term at Uni. Has he already got his internship for the 'sandwich' year? It sounds a really good way of getting a first degree and a Masters.

Nanto - we've said it before, but our OHs are so similar. Mine also loses all track of time and wouldn't notice the cold until he stopped.

Mimi - I hope you find a good solution for the damp part of your garden - moss and ferns? I read somewhere recently that conifers are better for making we ground drier than deciduous trees/shrubs. I suppose because the year round canopy keeps the ground drier. What did puss think of today's plumber?

Enfys - did you get started on your knitting projects this afternoon?

Oma - did you get a nana nap after your early start this morning?

Do you ever plan to do a job and then find yourself doing more than you'd planned? Today I wanted to give our bedroom a good clean - it's been getting a quick dust and hoovering for what seems like months, and it was looking a bit neglected. I didn't intend to be hoovering the top of the built in wardrobes from the stop step of a rickety aluminium ladder, moving our king size divan bed to clean under it, or steam cleaning the hard floor. But I did. All the time I was at the top of the ladder manoeuvring the little hand-held sucky up thingy I was remembering Oma's flight and crash landing from the ladder when they were decorating. Eva trying to climb the ladder with me didn't help! Anyway, it's all spick and span, our new rugs are down, and I steamed our bathroom and the main bathroom floors while I had the machine upstairs.
