Lizzie - I'm allergic to wool as well. It's probably why I never did much knitting as a child - 'wool' in those days was proper wool and it would make me itch and my eyes would run.

I remember at secondary school having a routine medical. We all had to get undressed down to our knickers and were given a blanket to put round us as it was cold. When the doctor saw me she was furious with me as I was covered in big red blotches and lumps. I think she was furious with the wrong person - I couldn't help it!

Enfys - I'm glad you're feeling better - enjoy your natter. We need some dry weather for those odd gardening jobs, don't we!

I've been thinking about Clover too, and hoping the repair work will soon be finished so it's one trouble less on her mind. xx

Daisy, I once thought I would make a coat, 100% wool, cutting it out made my face and eyes swell so much, like the Elephant man!! My doctor at the time had to come out and see me as no way dare I have gone out looking like I did. Can understand you being covered in bumps from a blanket.

Sun shining, I think we had a light frost, the roof was white. No plans today, it might be my chance to change the plants in my two urns.

Oma, will you be allowed t see the GC to give them their presents, I do hope so. As the others have said, it certainly doesn't seem like 3 years since the transplant. Take some ear plugs to the doggy party.

Enfys, enjoy your natter without the knit.

Well Daisy you have the stamps, I must really get the cards done.

Nanto, you are always on call for your in-laws, didn't seem like there was any need for the doctor to call if the bleeding had stopped.

Enjoy your overnight sleepers Gemini and Nana.

Thinking of you Clover and sending hugs.

Lizzie - ouch. That must have felt so uncomfortable. At school our uniform cardigans were wool (there was no other option as they had to come from the uniform shop) and I was always pulling my blouse sleeves right down on to my hands so the wool didn't touch my skin, and in the summer when we had short-sleeved dresses I never wore a cardigan no matter what the weather was like.

Good morning all. I’ve Been using that hot, flat hissy thing and I have had to have a sit down to get over the shock !

            Oma I can’t believe it’s three years since B’s transplant .

We don’t have to go far to get the Christmas decs out, they are in the cupboard in the bedroom, I literally just have to open the door and there they are. I would think by this time next week they will be up even though OH thinks every year they don’t go up until the last week before Christmas. To be fair last year they did go up late because we were up to our eyes with the kitchen refit.

As I am typing on here I am listening to some Christmas music, at the moment Mary’s Boy Child by Harry Belafonte is playing . I love this song.
OH has made a Christmas play list on our Alexa , at the moment he has put 130 songs on there, I need to start early to hear them before Christmas is over !

Enfys do do you think your allergic reaction was more intense because of the stress you and P are bound to be experiencing, stress can do alarms things to you .

Nan2 I feel for you I used to be forever on call for my dear dad, it seemed no sooner was I home that I had to turn around and go back . Hope you have a quiet weekend without too much back and forwards.

Keep warm ladies and have a good Saturday

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

              Afternoon everyone.
Thank you all for your comforting thoughts and wishes. I realise I must adapt to the changing situation as OH can’t. The other night he blundered about in the spare bedroom in the dark in the middle of the night and sustained a long cut on his nose and a black eye. By the time I woke up the damage was done. Last night was okay despite 4 trips to the bathroom which wake me up every time as I have to make sure he comes back to the right room despite the light being on! Anyway I know there are hundreds in my situation so mustn’t let it get to me.

On a lighter note the roof has been repaired but as I feared more work was discovered and has virtually doubled the original estimate. To be honest the whole roof needs replacing but heaven knows how much that would cost.

Bitterly cold here today. The wind is biting.I hope you’re all keeping warm. I must get going on the Christmas cards.
Sorry I haven’t replied to everyone individually but I have been reading all the posts.

Very special thanks to a dear granny friend who sent me some beautiful flowers. I have sent you a private message. The flowers are beautiful.x

Clover, it must be so hard. I wish we all lived close enough to pop in.
Maybe a low wattage lamp left on in other rooms in case G wanders into the wrong one? xx

Welcome back Qwerty. You have chosen one of the coldest days for a while! Our company will warm you up though

I got mums Christmas cards and decorations down and the tree from the garage.
Just awaiting the arrival of GS1, plus Kindness Elves and Advent Calendar! It is the Christmas lights switch on where he lives, and he wanted to see that before coming over. He's seeing Santa tomorrow. Exciting times

                      Evening ladies ,
We have had a lovely day at the Doggy tea party , at first there didn't seem like a lot of people turning up , 30 minutes later it was packed with about 200 people and dogs ,
OMG the noise I must say the dogs were very well behaved the most vocal were the little yappy dogs barking and screaming at anything that walked passed , but even they quieted down after a while ,

The tea was lovely they came out on little picnic tables and far too much , lots of people took boxes home .
Dorothy DD's MIL was poorly so couldn't come so just me and DD and Storm ,
He was so good and enjoyed everything he ate
He was a bit nervous meeting Santa but as soon as Santa brought his present out of the sack he got excited obviously could smell the treats

I have put a few photos on my Media , some wouldn't download they were too big and im not sure how to resize

                      The room was decorated beautifully

We came out with headaches it was so noisy but agreed we will go again next year
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, pleased you enjoyed the doggy party. 200 there, thats a lot of people and dogs.
A pity your friend was poorly and couldn't make it.

Nana and Gem, hope the sleepovers go well.

                        Stay warm ladies.

Oma - Storm was a very good boy coping with all those people and dogs. Eva would freak out - she only has to see a dog half a mile away and she gets over-excited! What a pity DD's MIL wasn't well enough to go. Has Storm got to save his present till Christmas?

Clover - poor G. I hope his injuries soon clear up. Could you put one of those motion sensor light in places where G might wander? You just plug them into a socket and can have them on all night or just if they sense movement. I've got a couple on the landing so visitors don't fall downstairs on the way to the bathroom. You must be getting very little sleep, so perhaps that might help a bit. Sending hugs. xxx

This is similar to the ones we've got:

Qwerty - looking forward to hearing all your news when you get home. Yes, you'll definitely need your winter woollies. xx

Gem - exciting times indeed for our little ones. I hope you get a peaceful night, though. You, too, Nana.

Plant - did you replant your urns? What were you thinking of putting in them?

I managed to get out in the garden for a short while and swept up leaves from places we need to walk. It's been too wet to do them before. But then it suddenly turned cold and I was glad to get back indoors. I portioned up a load of dog food and wafted the yellow thingy round as well as the sucky up thingy, and cleaned the bathrooms, so feeling quite virtuous. I've just tried to place the dog food order for December, and their website's down. Hopefully not for too long. The owner says she's waiting for her web genius to mend it.

I think I'd better start thinking about Christmas tomorrow!

A bit of frost this morning, but not as much as the past 2 days.
No particular plans today, will just take the day as it comes.

Clover, those lights that Daisy suggested are ok.
My in laws have them. Might make things a bit safer for G.

What a night!! Up and down since 3.30 with awful pains in my head. My sinuses seem completely blocked and can’t breathe through my nose at all. I could have ripped my head off at 4 o’clock this morning 🤯. Found some decongestant tabs in medicine cabinet and now I’ve been up for a while it’s eased off so am going to have a steaming hot shower to see if that helps. Even my hair hurts! Oh dear, something else to add to the list.

Enjoyed knit and natter yesterday, so pleased I made the effort to go. Someone there mentioned that she goes to a chiropractor for her neck/shoulder problems so am wondering whether to try it. Has anyone been to a chiropractor? She gave me the details of hers who she recommends so I’ll think about it.

Clover, the lights sound like a good idea. Poor G, and you too, not something you want happening in the middle of the night.

hopefully we we can get out into the garden this morning, I haven’t had my nose out of doors yet so have no idea what the weathers like. Have a good day everyone 🌞

                                Good morning everyone.

                                It's a hard frost here Nan2.
I like the sound of those lights Daisy. There was something like that in our hotel room in Majorca, low level light at floor level coming on as you pass, on the way to the bathroom. It would be very good for GC getting to our bathroom in the night, but we have no socket on the landing.
Oh Enfys, how miserable for you I hope it improves.

All good overnight with GS1. We watched Elf together before bedtime. He slept well, and went on his tablet when he woke up to avoid disturbing us. He is going with his mum and dad to a coal mining museum today, where he will see Father Christmas.
OH and I are meeting up with SIL, GD and GS2 for a country pub lunch. I love Sunday lunch (and my GC!) so am very happy to be invited
DD and 2 friends have been on holiday in France since Thursday, back this evening.

                                Have a good day everyone.
