Mimi - it was 'whatever is in the kitchen soup'! Today it was sweet potatoes, parsnips, potato and onion. It was actually quite nice so I'll put the recipe in Recipes!

Oh dear, dog training!!! Eva took fright at this location well over a year ago and now she's really reluctant to join in unless the trainer actually walks with us! She obviously has to look after other dogs as well, so Eva has got to learn to be brave and trust me to look after her. We did almost an hour and by then I sensed she'd had enough and my back certainly had! So I took her back to the car, she jumped in and was immediately sick, twice! I cleaned up as best I could and set off home. It's about a half hour drive, but I'd expected it to take a bit longer with it being the beginning of half term. But there'd been what looked like a very nasty accident with the police controlling the traffic as best they could, fire engines, ambulances etc - all on a narrow busy road. But all the stopping and starting has made my back ache again! I can't stop thinking about the poor people involved in the crash.

It's a beautiful warm, sunny day, but I really don't feel like getting out in the garden this afternoon. I think I'll have another cuppa and put my feet up for a bit.

Hope no one was seriously hurt Daisy .
Poor Eva sounds like this location has really upset her to the point of sickness , do you think it would be best not to take her there again Daisy ?

You need to avoid the garden while your back is like that it can wait im sure ,
B cleared all the leaves away again today came in and had a coffee then looked out of the window and it was just as full as before he did it , wish the trees would all fall in one go get it out of the way .

Ive pottered on today and I got quite a bit done , sorted under the stairs thrown out lots of rubbish then I did the drawers in the hall
I have two narrow drawers each side of the Radiator cabinet , two drawers have all our Hats gloves scarfs in , I was surprised how many pairs of gloves I had and scarf's as I usually only wear the same ones , same with B ,
Lots of rubbish in those drawers things I just open the draw and throw in when we come in the door or stuff the kids leave around like erasers and bits of drawings , those toys you get in McDonalds that they never play with and have forgotten they have ,

I also have a little wallet sort of thing I keep my Epipens in and antihistamines in for my handbag , thought I would just check antihistamines as I knew they had been in a while . I was shocked to see the use by date was 2014
I check date on Epipens regularly but never think of antihistamines I was ashamed of myself

Oh dear, poor Eva and poor you Daisy Putting your feet up now is the best idea.
I love whatever you have in the fridge soups!
You are a good mum and grandma having the sleepovers Qwerty!

We have got 2 washloads dry outside. It is due to rain here tomorrow so we wanted to get it done today, as it is so nice.
I went to the village, picked up mum's audio book and went to the card shop for two Thank You cards for our cat sitter and DD3 and OH, and the birthday balloon for GS1's birthday tomorrow. I have been to see my mum this afternoon, who is on good form and was looked after by DD2s 1 and 2 and their dad during my absence Tiredness has come and gone in waves today, but mostly I am fine. As you say Daisy, let's hope we stay awake for the performance tonight!

Qwerty - mentioning New Year was purely in the interests of reminding Gem that it's not long till she sees her DD3 again! I'm definitely not ready to discuss the other topic until 1st December at the earliest!!

Oma - I wish you could come and tidy out my drawers! I really must get down to it sooner or later. I did my t-shirt drawer last week, but there's lots more to be done! What a good job you checked your antihistamines.

I haven't heard any more news of the crash, but there was a very badly smashed small car which firemen and medics were working on. I've wondered whether to stop this particular activity with Eva, but she also needs to move on from the incident which frightened her (boys kicking footballs against the metal fencing). It's the sort of noise she could meet in other situations so I'm hoping gentle exposure to the place it happened will desensitise her.

Gem - I'm pleased to hear your mum is ok, but I'm sure she was pleased to see you. Perhaps you've conquered the jet lag this time.

The Full Monty - the play was really good. The audience despicable! It made me quite ashamed to be a woman!!

Was it full of screaming crude women Gem ? I once went to a show it wasn't the Full Monty but something similar and there was a crowd of women in about 20 of them and some of our age they made a right show of themselves it was embarrassing

Good morning everyone. It's a bit chilly here, but the sun is shining and the forecast is good.

Gem, what a pity the audience was so awful. I hope they didn't spoil the play too much for you.

I'm going to catch up with my washing today. OH is going to do the supermarket shop - the fridge is bare and he'd planned to go yesterday but I was so late getting back from dog training that he didn't make it. It still doesn't seem quite right shopping on a Sunday, but sometimes we find ourselves doing it.

I've been trying to decide how to balance looking after the GDs tomorrow and Tuesday along with the 3 dogs, and I think the only practical solution is for me to look after the girls and Cooper at their house and OH will stay here with Eva and Bailey. Bailey's not eating much, so I think he's a bit homesick and OH can give him plenty of attention. I just hope the girls are happy with staying home!

                  Have a lovely day everyone.

Cold here too. I’m cleaning the church this morning in preparation for harvest festival this afternoon. This will be followed by harvest/Halloween fun in the Village Hall. Competitions, cake and a cuppa then home to roast a chicken!

We are having some gorgeous weather, yesterday was like a summers day and already it is warming up. GD1 is back at work today after two day off feeling poorly, yesterday I looked in her throat and it is infected so doctors for her tomorrow. She has been given so many 5.30 starts to bake the bread at Waitrose I think she was exhausted and then she gets a throat infection, I think she needs her tonsils out, her sister is the same. I am planning to go to JL today and might pop in to see how she is, the stores are very close together. GD2 is back from London later and I will be cooking for them both this evening. I had a nasty experience whilst eating my fruit and cereal this morning a bit of cereal blocked my windpipe and I couldn't breath, thought I was a gonner, coughed and sputtered and managed to shift it, I had put dry cereal on top of my fruit, will not do that again.

That does sound the best solution Daisy, I am sure the girls will understand, have fun.

Did the cast do the Full Monty Gemini?

Popped to a small Morrisons this morning not far from us not our usual as this is more like a Morrisons local but very handy all the same ,
As we were coming out of the car park we noticed a new shop across the road just opened this week ,
The most amazing Continental Deli , lots of German and Polish breads and meats we can only get in Germany , we were like kids in a sweetie shop . wonderful variety of foods from pickles to veg and everything in between .
There is quite a large Polish community in this village so I think it will do well , we will be visiting a lot I think , fresh bread every morning from 7am the smells were mouth watering .

Plant sounds like gd isn’t at all well, antibiotics might sort it, I have done what you did Plant choked on cornflakes once, just got stuck when I inhaled it is frightening all I could think was the Queen Mother choking on a fish bone, I do think as we get older our throats get a bit smaller we need to chew more or mash our food up like you would a babies πŸ˜›
Hope grandson enjoys his party Gem I bet he is excited it’s s lovely age
