Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.
I did some of that upstairs cleaning yesterday Nan2.
My reflexologist is coming at 10.30. My ibs, neck, knee, wrist etc etc will be glad!
Not sure what else is on the cards. I would like to see Mary Poppins while it is still on, I suspect OH will want to get on with decorating though.

Good morning, everyone. Sorry I didn't back on here yesterday. When I got back from the school run both girls needed me (it's lovely to be needed!) - GD2 for cuddles, and GD1 with Maths help. I'm much better at cuddles than Maths, but she was working on Year 4 stuff - she's Year 3. I'll have to do some homework of my own.
Nanto - you won't know yourself with your posh new loo downstairs. I hope it's all finished today. Don't overdo the cleaning.
Clover - your poor lady. That must be so painful.
Enfys - you wonder with hospital appointments sometimes. I'm glad they managed to reinstate P's appointment, and it sounds as though the Consultant was very thorough.
Gem, how frustrating about your DD's key. I keep the various keys to DS2's house on a separate keyring and clip it to mine on the days I'm going over there - but of course, sometimes I forget!! Enjoy your reflexology this morning, and go and enjoy the film - the decorating will wait.
I've got a busy but nice week. Today we're meeting up with ex-colleagues of OH's for coffee and lunch. Tomorrow is housework day (unless something better turns up) and on Friday I'm going with the girls' other granny to choose fabric for our dining room chairs. She's making them for us. We've got nice new foam pads cut to size so they just need covering. Saturday is extra dog training and Sunday might be a day off!
It's raining quite hard here at the moment, but is still very warm for January.

Daisy,we have decided, OH will do some painting after my reflexologist is gone (My room is upstairs so a bit tricky to paint the stairs while she's here!) Later we will go to the cinema
I have DD1's and auntie's keys on my keyring, and mum's in the glove compartment of my car - I'm not sure why not on my keyring, probably because there are several. If I had to actively remember to take any of them I would probably forget!

Gem - that sounds like a good compromise - the decorating makes progress and you stil see the film. Enjoy it.
It's nice to get out for lunch sometimes - we don't do it often enough.
I hate loads of keys on my keyring - I only have my car key and my house key on normally. OH always seems to have loads on his keyring, and I'm sure he doesn't even know what half of them are for."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Good morning ladies, just popped in to say I doubt if I will be able to report in before this evening. Drs. appt followed by WI, then I am going to visit a friend in hospital , she has been very very poorly. Probably I will not be back before 4.00. Want to get back before it gets dark, it is a long drive.
Enfys, it sounds to me as if the hospital staff cancelled the wrong appt. I had an appt. last week and an automated voice rang me three times to remind me.
Enjoy the cinema GeminiWhat is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Hello all.
Well I took the plunge and rang a local tree surgeon about the overhanging trees. I rang on Monday morning and the boss came at 4 o’clock to see what needed doing. He gave a reasonable quote and seemed very professional so I agreed to his firm doing the work. I was surprised when he said they would come Wednesday and sure enough two men arrived about 8.30 this morning. They worked really hard in a difficult area and despite rain coming in had finished by 1p.m I paid them, got my receipt and the job was done.Hopefully though some trees are left the ones I was frightened might fall on the public footpath are gone.
Gem we we saw the Mary Poppins film a couple of weeks ago. I really enjoyed it and thought it was better than it could have been as a sequel.
Plant I hope you’re back safe and sound after your packed day.
Hope everyone else has enjoyed their various outings and chores today.

Spent yesterday popping pills because my back was so sore. Upside was that I had a fantastic night's sleep!
Thankfully today I'm in less pain and more mobile and so far haven't had any painkillers. Touch wood quickly!
Miserable here now the rain has started and getting colder too.
New alarm being fitted tomorrow. It's wireless and I'm not quite sure how it works, but the engineer reckoned we have the only original system left in the area! So maybe it's time we came into the 21st Century.
You'll notice a difference with your trees gone Clover!
Have a good evening everyone xBelieve you can and you're halfway there.

Visited friend in hospital, journey home bit unpleasant in the rain, I decided to come back on the main road instead of the lanes as it was getting dark and the rain was a nuisance forming puddles.
Be very careful with your back pain Wee GrannyWhat is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant - much better to stick to the better roads when the weather's that bad.
Nanto - glad your new loo is earning its keep!
Oma - I hope you sleep better tonight.
WeeGranny - I have a lot of sympathy for your poor back. I find it helps if I can get a good night's sleep when mine is bad, but don't try and do too much. Did youmanage to avoid painkillers today?
Gem - didyou enjoy the film?
Clover - that was good service from the tree surgeons, and a weight off your mind. Do your house and garden look lighter now?
