Good morning everyone. Just a quick cuppa for me and then off for another busy day. OH has a hospital appointment today for his eye. As Enfys knows, parking at the hospital is a nightmare, plus there are major road works between us and the hospital, which will make it a long day, so I'm taking Eva over to DS2 for the day - he's going to work from home - but I don't think she's very well, she's not asking for her breakfast. My friend, M, who would normally look after her is away. So not sure what to do! Anyway, I hope everyone else is faring better.

I'll catch up on here later.

    Have a good day everyone.

      Morning.

Daisy I hope Eva perks up soon and the hospital trip isn’t too trying. We are lucky that our local bus stops right outside the Outpatients of our nearest hospital so we never use the car to go there as I know what a nightmare parking is. You feel exhausted before you even get there .

Oma I love that picture of Storm. What a dog.

Plant although you had a busy day after all it sounded quite enjoyable. Lots of nice places visited and lunch out.

Nothing major planned here today but I dare say I’ll find plenty to do.

      Have a good day everyone.

        Morning ( just ) ladies ,
Daisy we always have a long journey to Hospital and its the same everywhere not enough parking spaces , we would need to take 4 busses to get to the Hospital we are at now so that wouldn't work for us , your very lucky Clover

Has a dreadful night didn't go to bed till 6.30 up again at 8.15 ,
Been to Morrisons & Lidle and I feel dead on my feet , after lunch im going for a lie down even if I only get 1 hour its better than none ,

Clover bless him he was so tired he couldn't make the full sofa hahaha DD had to lift him on , mind you he is the laziest dog in the world , loves his sleep

          Good morning/afternoon everyone.

I will catch up with all other threads once I'm home, but popping in here every day to check on you all 😊
We had a good day and evening yesterday, I will update the Canada thread tonight.

Oma, I hope you manage some sleep.
Daisy I hope Eva perks up . Once in a while one of our cats refuses breakfast and worries us, then makes up for it later in the day!

          Have a good day everyone.

Just popped by to let you know that today I had my routine eye test and I needed new glasses so by the time vaifocal , thinning down the one lens , adding an anti scratch had been added my £89 glasses had risen up considerably....I need to go and lie down in a darkened room !!!
            I will be back

Oma it sure does, OH was shocked when I told him how much they were He can’t understand why he can buy a pair for under £100 and I can’t but as I pointed out to him his prescription isn’t as complicated as mine , he just has normal short sight in both eyes where as my left eye is far more short sighted than the other so the lens on left resembles the bottom of a jam jar so if I didn’t pay extra to have it thinned not only would it look odd my left eye would look huge compared to my right eye. Added to the fact that I have vaifocal lens and trans lenses it sends the price sky high . They are bright red steel glasses. I always go for a colour, the ones at the moment are purple! I did try some black, brown and tortoise shell ones but they didn’t suit me.

I had a phone call this morning informing me that the new kitchen has been put back to December, I wasn’t too bothered to be honest, I’ve waited 5 years I can wait another month and a half I suppose.

OH was in the garden this afternoon tidying up the strawberry plants and he came in with a hand full of strawberries, what a strange season we are having , they have produced fruits on and off since the end of May .

Hope all our ladies and OH are well

Evening my friends , getting a few too many boring days lately this must ✋. OH went to therapy his last, will write about it when I can
The new mirror we ordered 5 weeks ago arrived yesterday , OH attempted to put it on the wall , it’s a pretty expensive mirror only telling you this because OH measured the gap for the hooks to go on wall when he had drilled the holes and he put the brackets up we put it on the wall and its flipping heavy, when we realised the chain to hang it on was not in the same place as the other ggggrrrr this mirror cost us £170 you would think they would be accurate in their measurements. So he put another hole in my newly decorated wall and went through the wire that connects 3 wall lights , I could have cried , now he is trying to sort that , we havnt had our tea yet ,it’s not his fault these things happen but I waited so long for this last piece of our jigsaw
Havnt seen the twins for 2 weeks and things just get on top of you don’t they, I lie we did face time but it’s not the same
Daisy hope all has gone ok with your OH and the poor dog 🐕
Nanto and Gem hope you are enjoying your time abroad
Buying glasses Mimi should be a pleasurable time like buying a new handbag but it doesn’t seem like that when you pay so much for glasses , I’ve had varifocals for many years now and so have got used to paying large amounts but it makes you think twice when it comes to changing them , shame about the delay on kitchen that is the second person this week I have heard that from ,hopefully it will be up and running for Christmas
Oma you must be sick to death of this sleeping lark, 3 days for me was bad enough I hope you have a better night

                          Good evening from me!

I have only skimmed through all your posts today, but sympathise with the lack of sleep and cost of glasses. Before I had cataract surgery I had varifocals - glasses and contact lenses, and used to think they should offer a mortgage to pay for them. Now they're just a very minor straightforward prescription and I moved from our local shop to a big chain.

Oma - I didn't sleep much last night either, but I did better than you. I don't know how you get by on so little, no wonder you're feeling washed out. I lay down for a snooze this afternoon and slept for 2 hours, and am now ready for bed again!

Today worked better than I'd expected. I took Eva over to DS2's and as soon as she heard Cooper woofing at the door her tail went into overdrive! I don't think DS2 got as much work done as he had hoped, but the dogs were happy! We left loads of time to get to the hospital - the normal half hour journey took an hour - and we found a parking space within 10 minutes so we were very early for OH's appointment. The receptionist said he wouldn't be seen until the appointment time, 1.30, but we decided to hang around anyway, and within 5 minutes he was being see! So we were out well over an hour before his appointment was even due. We decided to go back on the motorway to avoid the road works and queues, but I noticed a signpost to Romsey and decided to go that way instead. It was a lovely drive, despite the dismal weather through lovely countryside with hardly any traffic, and OH complained because he said it took longer! I offered to stop at the next bus stop for him!!! I thought it was much nicer than thundering along the motorway with all the container lorries coming out of the docks!

We had lunch and then I went and picked Eva up, came home and fell asleep!

OH's eye seems less painful than it usually is, but he does find the treatment very tiring.

                          Waving to Nanto and Gem.

Qwerty - I'm sure the mirror will finish off your decorating beautifully. I hope J's therapy session went well. xx

                          Night, night everyone.

                                Good morning Oma and everyone.

Oma - I'm glad you slept well last night so you're fit and full of beans for your outing tonight. I slept well as well - and definitely feel better for it, although my back is still not behaving itself! OH is still dozing but his eye isn't too painful, although blurry at the moment. We're off to the theatre to see Wicked tonight, and the kind friends we're going with are driving. OH is going to take his sunglasses. I'm looking forward to having an evening out.

                                Gem - enjoy your day.

Nanto - DS1 and family aren't staying at your hotel, so you can relax and be as naughty as you want!!!

I hope Nana and Grauntie are enjoying their hols, too. Have I missed anyone? There seem to be a lot of people coming and going at the moment.

It's nice and sunny here today, although definitely getting colder. Still, we've done so well with the weather for the time of year, I won't grumble!
