Nanto - that's a stunning graphic, I love it. I hope OH enjoys his car boot sale! If he's like mine you always hope he's just looking, not buying!!

Qwerty - that's very stylish paper. I'm not brave enough to go out on a limb with decorating, because I know if I hate it I'll still have to live with it for years!

Plant - I hope it stays sunny for the village fete - it's lovely here at the moment - but whatever the weather I bet your cakes will be gone in a flash. How nice to have such a spontaneous family.

Gem - you and Qwerty could be celebrating new settees together! Have a good day.

      Morning ladies
Qwerty Paper is lovely it will look even better when the full wall is done ,
Gem you and Qwerty have something to look forwards too , new sofas how lovely
Plant always the best get togethers with family when you don't know what's going to happen
Daisy bet you were hungry when you woke this morning although your Muesli and yoghurt did sound scrummy ,
Nanto brave you tackling Asda on a Saturday afternoon

Was dragged around the builders merchants this morning he's decided to make a custom made little shed to house my garden table & chairs for the winter , so I had to carry the wood to the car , got the wood for the framework and for the roof but he decided the side boards he would get from a different place , so no doubt that will be tomorrows job

Keeps him busy and out of the way I suppose .

Went to Asda about 11.30. it wasn't too bad, just wanted the essentials, plus a few non essentils.
DS1 came for his dinner,we had meat and potato pie.

Weather has brightened up here now.

Oma, B sounds like my hubby.he's in his element if he is making something.
Been to look at DS1 new porch. It does look really nice. makes a big difference to the front of the house.
Hubby gone to help him put a picture up in his living room. Its very big,so needs two pairs of hands.

Oma - beware. Building sheds can become addictive! My OH had two smallish sheds behind the greenhouse (the sunniest part of the garden!) and when he retired he took them down and built a huge 10 x 15 one for his wood turning hobby. After several years I managed to get a small (about 7' square) summerhouse and we put it up leaving enough room behind it for the shrubs to continue to grow and enough room for me to get in there to prune them. Then one day, another shed appeared, behind my summerhouse! He painted it the same colour so he said it looked like an extension of the summerhouse. This shed is for storing wood for woodturning! This was never in the agreement. Then he tried to take over the small garden chest I use for pots etc, and I pointed out that in the winter that chest is packed, so if he uses it I will have to put pots etc in his shed! So he got another chest to add to his shed city! It's full of wood now, so I dread to think where the next shed will spring up! It's a good job I love him!

Ooh Nan2, I haven' t had meat and potato pie for ages, my mum used to make it!
Daisy it sounds as though you live at Shed Central
Good to keep B busy Oma!

This morning OH got her friend's hedge cut and lawns mowed, with a little assistance from myself. We then took 2 bags of the resulting garden waste to the tip, as these people don't like to mess up their green garden waste bin
This afternoon we pottered around the village a bit, and had coffee and a good chat in our favourite cafe.

              Afternoon /Evening all.

Just come in from gardening with a back that feels as if it is being sawn in half,a cut, bruised knee and a scratch across ny forehead worthy of Harry Potter. I should add I did more than I intended including breaking branches and pulling up a dead 6foot Viburnum.(Over zealous pruning a couple of years ago sealed it’s fate )

Gem sounds like a nice relaxing afternoon and a productive morning.

Daisy you must guard your remaining garden with your life

Enjoy the rest of your day ladies.

Daisy our garden is too small for anything else thankfully ,
We have a huge double door shed he keeps all his tools in but we left enough space down the side by the fence to house the bins out of sight,
At the bottom by the back of shed is enough room for this storage thing , its only about 4ft high enough to get the table and fold down chairs in

Gem I thought I was picky but not liking the garden bin messed up is a bit over the top

Daisy you will be surrounded by sheds soon. Village show isn't a fete Daisy, it is a Show for all sorts of produce, flowers, art work, children exhibits etc are judged. I used to enter and OH entered the men's class. I and a friend used to judge the children's entries and Mary Berry used to judge the domestic classes. Hope there were lots of entries, I should think there will not be many runner beans. the fair was in full swing when I came home from shopping. Family back tomorrow, I shall be pleased to hand back the kitten.

Love the picture Enfys, you clever lady. I bought a pot from a lady on holiday, she covers them with decoupage using fabric she cuts them into patchwork shapes and uses wood glue to fasten them to the pots. We had a very long chat about her work, she used very expensive fabrics and she also does the same with chairs.

Sounds a bit ridiculous Gem,about not messing up the green bin.
If you and OH did our hedge and lawn, there is no way we would expect you to take it to the tip.

Gem, you ought to make a meat and potato pie when you have time.I bet you would enjoy it,not having had one for years.

Oma - our garden is very small, too!! Clover - I shall guard the rest of the garden with every hoe, spade, fork and shovel at my disposal! To say nothing of the lopers!

Nanto - you posted about your meat and potato pie while I was typing earlier. If I'd known, I'd have been round to yours like a shot! Homemade meat and potato pie must be the ultimate comfort food. What meat do you use, Nanto - beef?

Plant - it sounds like a lovely village event with lots of enthusiastic contributors in every way. I hope kitten keeps up his good behaviour until his family get back tomorrow.

Gem - Do the friends you and OH were helping ever fill their green bin, or is it just for show? It was kind of you take the grass etc to the tip for them. I hope they realise what you've done.

I didn't get any housework done today, but (sit down to read this, ladies!) I did get the hot hissy thing fired up and waved it about for hours and hours and hours!

Phew I just had a marathon catch up. Had to go to page 13 or 14. Sounds as tho everyone & your OHs are keeping busy. Don't remember if I said we picked up our new school starter GS on Thursday? He's started to miss his mummy a bit more now. A few tears but I'm sure he'll settle before long.

They came to see us today & boy are they full of energy. We pick up GS2 from school on Monday (Sheffield) as mummy has a hospital appointment.

Nana little one will soon get into routine but its heart breaking when they cry for Mummy isn't it ,
It takes some time catching up on threads doesn't it ,

Did all my housework during night so only had hoovering to do this morning , off out to meet friends for coffee
After lunch I want to give the boxing in -in the downstairs loo another gloss I noticed yesterday certain ways the sun light shone it looks a bit dull in places like some paint has been missed

Nanto - the graphic made me smile, too. I love Eeeyore - I always want to give him a hug to cheer him up!

I love pies too - in fact I love ordinary short-crust pastry.

Oma, such little faith! I DID do hours and hours of ironing. I hadn't done any for about a month! And it's still not finished! Can you bring your paintbrush down here, please. Our hall, stairs and landing are crying out for some TLC and a coat of paint.

Nana - I do hope your GS will be skipping happily into school soon. Is it possible for him to go in with a friend? I bet you need an easy day after yesterday! Feet up, a good book and a cuppa.

It's a nice sunny day, so more washing on the line soon. I need to run the sucky up thing round too, but really want to get out in the garden. I'll see how the day pans out.

                              Happy Sunday, everyone.

By the way, Nana - it took me several days to catch up after our holiday!

                                Good morning ladies!

A nice Disney morning greeting there Nan2
Nana, I remember my youngest DD taking against school in her 2nd or 3rd week and wanting me. She soon settled in though.
Our hall stairs and landing are in a similar condition to yours Daisy!
Oma, you are always busy! Have a nice catch up over coffee with your friends, I know you will.
I hope your gardening injuries are not too sore Clover!

It is dull and a bit drizzly here. We have a trip to the Designer Outlet planned, so it makes no difference to us, but I hope it clears up for those with outdoor Sunday plans.
In defence of OH's friends, they do pay her to look after house and garden in their absence. I find it annoying that we have to bag everything up and go to the tip when there is a perfectly good green bin there, but OH says it's what they want and they are paying her. Their house and garden are showroom perfect, everything very expensive. You would actually doubt anyone lived there! But they almost never entertain, have no pets, no GC, so what's to make a mess I suppose?!

                                Have a good Sunday everyone.
