      Good morning all.
I didn't know we were expecting a storm. Mind you a good friend of mine lives in North Carolina where there is a terrible storm, so I don't think ours will compare.
Have a good dog/grandchild day Daisy!

I am meeting a friend in town for coffee today, then going to my mum's. I may also paint my rock!

      Have a good day everyone.

Last couple of days here in Portugal. 31 degrees yesterday! Looking forward to seeing the grandchildren later in the week. I’ll then have to catch up on here 🤗

Morning all. Need to get up earlier than usual as I really, really need to work on my artwork for the local Open Art Exhibition. Oma I might need to call in Ikea for frames would you & Brian like to join me?😂😂

Nan2 sorry our posts clashed earlier. You're right in what you say. I can't help being a clucking hen.

I wasn't aware there's a storm heading our way. Avo, hope you enjoy your last few days. Bet you're suntanned. Safe journey home.

Whatever it is you're doing today I hope you have a good one.

Not sure what I am going to do today, need to clean my kitchen window inside, window cleaners cam last week so shows up my side. I do have some ironing to do but I think I can ignore that. Have a good day everyone.

Washing to hang out it promises a warm day but not much sign of it yet so will wait a bit longer before hanging out
Somedays I don’t have much to say but you can’t be on the ball everyday can you
Glad the family arrived home safely and to come home to home baking can’t be bad Plant
I forgot to mention Nan2 about your sons porch, it’s surprising how it can lift a house outside
                Enjoy your Monday folk

Good morning all after 4 days of having 7 year old GS come to stay I am well and truly exhausted . On top of having GS to stay DS and DIL popped by on Saturday with eldest GS and his girlfriend . It was lovely to meet GS's girl friend ( feel so old ) but it only added to the excitement of 7 year old GS . Then on Sunday oldest DS came for Sunday lunch which was a very tight fit in my small kitchen . After DS had left DD . SIL and 2 year old GS came to collect GS and they all stopped for tea ,.they finally left at about 6ish and OH fell asleep on the sofa while I cleaned up the mess they left behind . I'll sleep tonight I thought , but sadly no such luck.

How is everyone, I feel as if I have been away for weeks , what have I missed ?

                  Have a good day everyone

Mimi - I wonder you've got the strength to keep your eye lids open after all that coming, going and feeding. Especially since you didn't sleep either. You have, of course, missed all sorts of excitements!!! xx

Avo, although it's still warm, at least in the south, we can't compete with 31C. You'll be digging out your winter woollies! Safe journey home. xx

Gem, I hope your friend in North Carolina is ok - the pictures on the news have been devastating. At least Oma's Storm will only wreck one house with a layer of dog hair and nose marks. I hope your Mum's ok today. xx

Qwerty - playing on the swings is definitely better than clearing up after a meal!

Plant, glad your lot are home again and you've handed over control of the kitten. He sounds quite a character.

I'm taking 5 minutes out while the dogs are quiet. Although when they are tooooooo quiet alarm bells break the silence! So far, so good. OH and a friend are making apples and pears in the shed. OH is trying to make enough to fill a large fruitbowl in the living room. We don't put real fruit in it because it's too warm near a radiator, and I don't like seeing it empty.

After lunch I'll take Cooper back to his house - DS2 is off work with a trapped nerve in his neck, so I can leave him there while I pick up GD2. It's the first time I've done it, and I'm stupidly excited. Then back an hour later for GD1 who has an after school club today.

Good afternoon all. Lovely day here, very warm and sunny.

I have at last made a start on sorting out all the pots. Went out this morning and stocked up with violas and cyclamen so that’s a start. I’m sure Dexter will want to “help” me this afternoon 😧

A few years ago we were in South Carolina when we had to evacuate because of a hurricane! We’d only been there a day, so all the news recently has bought it all back to us. It was a very scary time and I feel so sorry for all the residents.

I hope everyone is well, haven’t read back all the posts yet, and you’re all having a good day 🌞

Talking of storms, who rememebers the one in 1987? I'd just flown back from Australia to get our house ready to hand over to a letting agency and was woken in the middle of the night by dustbins blowing down the street. I was in a hotel and as the electricity had gone off I went back to bed and slept til morning. When I got up the street was littered with branches and anything that hadn't been fastened down. No way out of village until the fallen trees had been cleared and I had the gas man coming to the house so needed to get out! In the midst of all the excitement the phone rang and it was OH phoning to check I was alright...and the lines were supposedly down! Anyway, I managed to get out of the village, the gas man came another day and all the devastation has now gone and forests have grown again.

The pump on our showers has gone and died and it was strange having a normal shower having got used to the power shower! The boiler is being serviced soon so we may leave it until the boiler man comes rather than have an emergency call out which will cost a fortune.

Beautiful sunny day here so towels out on line drying in the wind and sun.

Went to have blood taken this morning came out with three large plasters plus a little one ( she did my flu jab too ). My veins were being particularly uncooperative this morning and typically she needed lots of it! Finally got there much to my relief. Just need to wait on results now. On a medical note, I have to have an ultrasound and the appointment came through.....10.00 one the other side of Cambridge, 26 miles away! How do they expect people to get there if they have no transport? It's not even on a direct bus/train and I'd have to negotiate rush hour traffic going the same way as me. Have left it with surgery to sort out for me.

Have written about doggo on YEO for anyone who's interested.

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies.

I am laughing about Oma's storm and me talking about the N Carolina one In my defence, Nan2 mentioned a storm here, and that was to which I was referring - although I did think Oma was referring to it as well

Hi Avo, enjoy the rest of your holiday.
Sunday lunch with family, lovely Qwerty!
Nice to see you Mimi, and know you survived the grandchildren
I hope all went well picking up GD2 Daisy, and she had a good day.
Did you do some planting Enfys?
Ouch WG, you arms must be like a pin cushion!
We have ours done at Asda, and not only are they excellent blood takers , the atmosphere in the room is very jolly OH was there for hers this afternoon. No bruises!
It rained here this morning but by the time I left my friend it was sunny and very warm, I had to come home to change before going to my mum's!
I had a nice morning with my friend, and mum was on good form this afternoon, having had a brief visit from DD2 and GS2!

All pots planted up and looking good. Qwerty, you’re right, we are feeling much better. DH still gets a bit tired but is fine if he paces himself. I surprised myself at how much I got done today, so that’s good.

We must make an appointment for our flu jabs, you have all reminded me 🙂
