Wee Granny - my memories of the storm were a bit late! I slept through it all, only to be woken by a friend phoning and wondering if the schools would be open. In fact, our village, being in the middle of a forest, had all the roads blocked. The devastation in the Forest was heartbreaking.
We need to get out flu jabs done as well. Last year we went to the chemists - quicker and easier than going to the surgery.
Enfys - well done to both of you. I bet your pots look lovely.
Qwerty - glad OH's blood tests and ECG seem ok.
WeeGranny - ouch, several times! We have the same problem travelling to hospitals that are miles away. In fact ours is only about 12 miles, but the traffic is horrendous! I hope you can get your appointment moved to a more convenient time.
Gem - I'm glad your mum was in a cheerful mood. It makes things so much easier for you, and must be nicer for her, too.
Hopefully storm Helena will be more of a damp squib before it lands in Clover's front garden.
My first school pick up for GD2 went fine. I dropped Cooper off at this house and then went to DS2's shop to park the car - parking near the school is a nightmare and it's almost as quick to walk from the shop. Anyway, it just happened that the girls' other grandma was there, so we both went to meet GD2. We both got great big hugs, and she chattered non-stop all the way back to the shop. By the time we'd got there it wasn't worth taking her home, not even to her house which is only about 1 mile away. So I played with her there and then walked back the same route to collect GD1 who had been to Production Club. She was floating on air - they're doing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and she's so excited.
GD2 was telling us grannies that she had been doing yoga today.

We’ve had terrific winds here all night, really blustery and rain too. Everything was shaking and I wonder if it caused any damage. All ok here this morning luckily.
Off to do shopping this morning and we are also picking up our new specs from optician. Otherwise nothing exciting planned and if the weather stays like this we won’t go far. Have a good day everyone 💨💨☔️

Apt graphic Nan2, it's windy here too!
Being in 'Joseph' is very exciting for a child Daisy! We love that musical in our family.
Staying put is probably a good idea Enfys!
OH has a golf competition this morning. Her playing partner this time is a lady in her 80's. I hope she doesn't get blown over
School pick up with GS1 this afternoon. I will organise my packing today I think.
Have a good day everyone.

It's windy here too. Nanto - your graphic is spot on.
I have an unexpected day off! DIL2 rang this morning to say DS is still not well, but neither is GD1 - she has a sore throat and a cold starting. Mum and dad have had it too, and say it made them feel poorly, so she's got a day at home and her dad is staying home with her. I've said I'll go over and pick GD2 up if necessary but the other gran may be able to do it - she lives about a mile away from the school, so much easier for her than me. I really hope GD1 will be ok - she's due to go on her first overnight trip with school tomorrow and she's beyond excited at the idea of the sleepover in a dormitory.
Gem - getting your packing organised is a good idea. I've been waiting to see what the weather might be like, but nobody seems to know for sure yet. I don't want to pack my winter woollies and then find it's hot and sunny! Or the other way round!! I hope the wind isn't too bad on the golf course.
Enfys - I didn't hear the wind in the night, and we don't seem to have had more than a few drops of rain, but DIL2 was saying that a branch on a huge oak tree on the path behind their house is hanging on by a thread, fortunately not in their garden, so it must have been quite rough.
I might wave the hot hissy thing around and get that out of the way. Lovely!

Plant - my wireless mouse had a 'moment' a few days ago. It perked up again after I'd cleaned the runners and mopped round the little light with a cotton bud.

Enfys its wet and dull hear but quite warm and no wind yet , Expensive job buying new glasses ,
Been to shopping centre had to get milk and few bits and call into the solicitors , B in his wheelchair managed to bang into the receptionist's desk and her monitor that was balancing on a pile of books fell off and crashed to the floor , Wasn't a lot of space to get around in a chair and sitting it on a pile of books wasn't exactly best idea was it
Luckily she had another one to use
Just pottering this afternoon not much to do really
Good morning all , can you all hear me above the racket that is going on around here all do I need to shout
The gas men have arrived . They are replacing the old gas pipes in the street and in each of the flats and houses, At the moment they are in the upstairs flat and at the moment I can hear myself think ! Just bracing myself for them to get to us. Poor cat doesn't know where to go and hide . This is nothing compared to the noise we will have when we have the kitchen gutted !
Its a very windy day here but its very warm . Very odd for middle September .
Allo , Allo to Grauntie in France . Is it windy there ?
Daisy you have reminded me about the flu jab This is the last year I will have to pay for my jab , well that is unless the government move the goal posts like they did with my pension . Not saying how old I am this year but the Beatles but the Beatles sang about it !
Hope you all have a good Tuesday I am going to find some cotton wool to put in my ears
Breezy here, alternating between sunshine and drizzle.Warm though.
Mimi, i can hear you loud and clear.
Oma,put some L plates on B's wheelchair.
Been to inlaws.MIL wasn't well,so she has stayed in bed.
Made them both breakfast, just tea and toast, but she ate it all,dad said he had enjoyed his breakfast.
They've got some M&S ready meals in, so they will have those for dinner.
Anyway, mam has perked up, so no need for me to go back, unless anything drastic happens.
Gem,hope its not too windy for OH on the golf course.
Daisy, hope the family are feeling better soon.
Hope GD doesn't have to miss her trip.
Plant hope you get sorted with a new mouse.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
Mouse replaced so I can get on here. Went up to JL to find one and found a top which might be suitable for my birthday lunch and Christmas, haven't tried it on yet. sun shinning here but a bit windy but warm.
Sorry to hear MIL was feeling a bit poorly Nanto, pleased they both enjoyed their breakfast.
CAN YOU HEAR ME MIMI? Your poor pussy cat, the noise must be bad.
Oma, there are always a lot of books and files on the floor of Solicitors offices.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
I hope your MIL is much better tomorrow Nan2.
It sounds a successful day for you Plant, new top and new mouse!
It was very warm here too despite the wind Mimi, 22 degrees according to my car.
B causing havoc so I see Oma
I had a busy morning doing a lot of things, including preparing the evening meal , then dropped a prescription in at my mum's (which annoyingly wasn't ready when I called for it on the way to see her yesterday) I collected GS from school, and he chose to come back here. He had a good day at school and all the class got the gold award, which he was excited about as it means they can choose what to do on Friday. How much freedom they have I don't know LOL! I had bought him an iced bun as an after school treat, and took a big pile of Lego cards, so he was a very happy boy!
When we got home OH was in the garden cutting the lawn - after playing golf for hours! Hard to believe there can be much wrong with her really!
Off to bed now with my book, dropping into the Granny's Arms on my way.
Good night everyone. Sweet dreams.
