Clover - it's a pity you are so far away, because my GS1 would be delighted to have your old computers, monitors , speakers etc. We regularly go round collecting things for him. He strips the machines down, cleans and repairs the parts and then either uses them in repairing other things or builds new things or sells parts on eBay to fund his hobby. We gave him an old computer tower and he built a fantastic gaming computer in it, using various components he had plus some new bits like a top notch graphics card and other parts.

It's so sad that your OH gets angry like that - I suppose he knows in his heart that there are things he can no longer do, and it's so sad for him, but also it must be incredibly difficult for you, too. Mind you, my OH thinks a 10-year old computer is still brand new!

WeeGranny - that's another item of great news. Going through this cycle of regular tests is draining and you can't help worrying, but when you get a good result you just have to relax and celebrate. xx I hope you will be ok after the flu jab, too, Mimi.

It's still very warm here - I've been out today in thin trousers and t-shirt, and even though it was quite blustery it was warm, but I think it's all going downhill tomorrow. I'll have to pack my thermals after all!!

I don't know what you're all talking about buying at the moment. !!!!!!!

Qwerty - I could do with harnessing some of that energy for the 'big jobs round here. Don't over do it.

Plant - enjoy your meal with the family tonight.

Clover it must be so difficult I know little of this awful illness but I do know the person can be a bit irritable and bad tempered , such a shame from what was such a gentle man , can you get rid of some stuff without him knowing if he doesn’t go in there, a bit devious I know but sometimes needs must take care of yourself xx
Daisy that’s why I’m going away to get some rest, isn’t that what we are all doing , me and Plant will be propping up the bar all day hiccup

Such a shame as the others have said Clover, very hard for you, G was such a gentle person.

If it is raining we will certainly be propping up the bar Qwerty.

When I was at the hospital today a lady was driving out of the car park but couldn't quite reach the machine you put your ticket in to lift the barrier, she opened the door to get closer and must have taken her foot off the brake and the car carried on and took the barrier. I was standing alongside and said to her your car is okay just go back and a man came and lifted the barrier as she had broken it. It was obviously an automatic. The cars behind her just drove through, a car park attendant was soon on the spot to make sure we had all paid for exit tickets. I wonder if she will have to pay for the damage because they must have caught it on camera.

Did you see the news item last week,Qwerty, where a woman driving an automatic put her foot on the wrong pedal, apparently, whilst she was parking and unfortunately hit a man who was jogging nearby. Sadly it was fatal.

If they have it on CCTV I’m sure they will track her down. Pleased she didn’t hurt anyone though.

Have spent day in bed being brought cups of tea and magazines and feeling marginally better than I did last night. Yes Oma,it was full blown flu symptoms! An Qwerty, no it wasn't my first jab by any means. I think I first started when OH was diagnosed with cancer and it's carried on since then. If this was to prevent me catching it I dread to think what a full blown dose would be like.

First time I drove an automatic Enfys, I was going downhill and put my foot on what I thought was the brake only it was the accelerator! OH just about had kittens, but I managed to slow down before we hit anything!

Birmingham ladies have a wonderful weekend.....I'm sure you'll find something to do, even if it's just keeping the barman busy! I'll raise a glass on Saturday evening to you and all GRUers.....as long as I'm off the co-codamol!xx

Plant - these automatic barriers can be a problem. When we were leaving the hospital yesterday, I had a similar problem - I couldn't reach the machine so got out to do it - and the machine wouldn't accept my ticket, saying I was out of the time allowed to pay and leave and I had to get another ticket - £5.20!!! We'd been in a flippin' queue for ages, and OH had the sense to press the button for attention and said we'd been waiting to get out while they'd been faffing about with the barrier. It lifted immediately!! I'm glad the lady herself was ok. Enfys, what an awful accident.

I've never understood with an automatic why you're supposed to use your right foot for brake and accelerator, apart from that's what you do with a manual. If you used your right foot for the accelerator and the left for the brake surely that would be safer. There are so many accidents that seem to be caused by people hitting the wrong pedal. Wee Granny, I bet it startled you as well when the car speeded up.

Wee Granny - Poor you, it sounds like real flu to make you so poorly. I hope you are ok to raise that glass on Saturday. We'll do the same - several times just to make sure our good wishes travel well. xx

Good morning, Nanto, Oma and everyone.

It's quite nice here at the moment - bit of sunshine and light winds. Hopefully none of us will get delayed by fallen trees or whatever.

My train isn't until 10 o'clock and OH will take me to the station.

I'm taking my iPad to keep an eye of everyone, Oma, so will hopefully have a chat tonight.

Wee Granny, take care of yourself. xx Yes, we may well be keeping the barman busy.

                      Good morning all

My train is at 9.44. The same one Oma will be on, and Qwerty will join. OH is driving me to the station.

Rain and wind all night long, but the rain has stopped now
Safe journey to our travellers, and have a good day everyone.

                        Good morning all.

I hope our travelling ladies all have a safe, straightforward journey and have a wonderful time when they reach Birmingham.I’ll be thinking of you. Perhaps we could see some pictures to show you are behaving yourselves ( or not as the case may be )

It’s still very windy here but the sun is appearing now and then.My poor garden has suffered.I had twe very tall Sunflowers which although staked have snapped off. I’ve cut off all the flowers and buds and now got two vases full.

Daisy I did think of your GS and the computers though I think even he would be overwhelmed by the quantity.

WG poor you.You must have felt rotten to stay in bed,but it was the best thing to do.I hope the improvement continues.

                        Have a good day everyone.

We had the best time in France. Saw lots of untouristy, interesting things thanks to our host who is very knowledgeable about the beautiful area we were in. Seeing my school friend was great, it’s been 15 years since we last met.
Home to a bucketful of rotten luck for DD2. Her car was driven into by a criminal being chased by the police. She and 6 year old J were in it at the time. They weren’t hurt thank goodness. The garage has been appalling to say the least. The insurance company don’t seem much better. The courtesy car which arrived yesterday has broken down this morning, and on it goes....🙄 poor child.
Off to Boots Travel clinic for holiday vaccinations today so that will be another job jobbed.
Enjoy your day, think happy thoughts. 🤗
