DD3 is home. In the end it wasn't until after 5, so OH and I both went.
We dropped her home, saw little E and SIL for a few minutes then picked up a takeaway on the way home.

Gem, thank goodness DD3 was able to go home, and I'm sure she was delighted to see both of you. I hope she has some respite now to build her up. How is your back after your massage?

Oma, one puzzle toy that keeps Eva occupied for quite a while is a largish ball with holes in and strips of fleece type fabric coming out of the holes. You wrap a treat up in the strips and roll it into the ball. Even Cooper takes quite a while to unroll all the treats. If I can't find a link to it I'll take a photo of Eva's. I got soaked on our walk.

Oma, I've found the dog toy online - on Amazon, although I'm sure it must be available elsewhere.

          Good morning ladies.

The interactive dog balls sound fun Daisy (for a dog!)

Glad to hear you have wheels again Oma!

My massage was good and my lovely masseuse had made us a loaf of bread, she just wanted to give us something! In fact it couldn't have been more useful. We had hardly any bread, I had meant to make some and would have ended up buying some on the way home.
As I said on YEO I was able to go with OH to collect DD3 in the end. It's a good job as there was a great amount of things to bring home . It needed us both, and DD just carrying her pillow!

It's half term this week so GS2 will be here all day. He will come with me to collect little E after lunch. We have some biscuit making planned for this afternoon.
DD3 thinks it will be a good idea for little E to stay here every Thursday night now. As his mummy only got back last night from a few days in hospital though, we will see if he would prefer to be at home tonight.

Lizzie, yesterday our aqua instructor told us we are due temperatures of 13° at the weekend!
It was 5 yesterday but felt much colder due to a biting wind

Oma/Daisy. doggo has one of those snuffle toys! It takes me half an hour to fill it with treats and 10 minutes for him to empty it! Off to keep him company for a couple of hours while SiL and DD are at work.

                    Have a good day ladies!

                      Morning ladies

                      Gem
It's surprising how much you have in hospital with you isn't it,
Everytime MIL comes out we have bags of stuff plus meds ,
                      I'm pleased she's home

                      Nanto
                      Enjoy your Evening ,

                      Daisy
I sent the link to DD she said she's ordering one but hopes it's strong as Storm will rip it to pieces to get to the treats😁

                      Lizzie
Stay in where it is warm , only go out if you really must,
Just as well you got the all weather tyres put on the car isn't it .

We have been to Aldi then we are going to MILs at about 11 I will just go for her shopping as it's too cold to take her out yet.

SIL2 bought a magnetic white board to put on her fridge so we can leave messages for the carers to do things she needs doing as MIL won't ask she will say she can do them herself,

Carer rang SIL yesterday to say it was brilliant for them as they just got on and did the jobs rather than asking MIL what needed doing.

Hopefully she's in a good mood today.

                            Good Thursday morning, everyone.

Nanto, have a lovely time tonight. I love rhubarb crumble, but rarely get to eat it as OH doesn't like crumbles, and isn't keen on rhubarb.

Lizzie, what awful weather you're having. But a good opportunity to get your paper work done.

WeeGranny, I agree it takes ages to fill that snuffle toy with treats and Eva empties it far too quickly, but I've now got a bit more cunning. I roll all the tails up but only put treats in about half of them. She still unrolls all of them, just in case she's missed one. I put treats in her snuffle mat at the same time, so she's happy to move on before she's tempted to rip the ball to bits. She is generally quite gentle with her toys, though, so it's not a guaranteed strategy for all dogs.

Oma, I hope Storm enjoys the snuffle ball. It's hard to keep an active dog busy. I hope MIL is ok and in a good mood. What a good idea the whiteboard is. It must save the carers a lot of time and gives them clear information. Is she still coping on less oxygen?

Gem, how kind of the masseuse to make you some bread. I can imagine what a lot of things to carry home from the hospital. But you need some home comforts, don't you. I was shocked at the amount of meds I had to bring home after my first treatment. The nurse went through them all, writing down what each one was for and how and when to take it. That was really useful, and OH made a chart to check everything off. He puts a week's worth of tablets into a pill dispenser and ticks it all off on his chart. He won't let me do it!!! I was (and still am) very grateful though, as I'm sure I'd get in a muddle. He leaves me to sort out the injections though.

The paper carrier bags the hospital use for meds isn't very strong, so I take a fold up shopping bag and put it in there.

I hope you're having a lovely day with GS2, and I'm sure they will both enjoy the biscuit making this afternoon. They will, of course, be very kind and offer to sample them as well.

OH has a friend here helping him with something on the computer, and we've just had a chat over coffee. This friend is very involved with a local cat rescue and he was telling us how difficult it is for them to move to more suitable premises. The council turn down everything they suggest. One of the problems of being in a National Park, I suppose. But the ones who lose out are the cats and kittens they're trying to help. It seems very sad and hard hearted to me.

MIL was in a good mood so shopping was slightly less stressful today,
When we got her home I made her put her oxygen on and her nebuliser while I made her a cup of tea ,
Then B heated up some soup for her and I had bought 4 cheesy buns ,
I'm not keen so I gave her two and she had one with her soup ,
And I put her a slice of cake out to have after it ,
So we know at least she has had a meal,

I then emptied the bin as the carer hadn't and B made the bed,

I had a bit of a argument with her about using her walking frame properly,
She said she was using it but she isn't she is sort of dragging it behind her when she walks .
That's no good if she stumbles 🙄

                              I got told I'm like a school teacher ,
I don't care if that's what I have to do to make her listen.😁

                              Daisy
What a shame about the cats ,
You would think the council would be happy someone is taking care of strays , especially in this weather.

I remember taking a big carry bag for all Bs meds,
We had a big chart as there are so many and so many different times to take them ,
                              You can easily become confused,
Then there is the injections in the fridge isn't there.

I am lucky we both love rhubarb and any kind of crumble ,
GS does too so when we make some we always do enough for him ,
Put it in the freezer and then we can defrost it when he comes 😁
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, I had to smile at MIL saying you were like a school teacher. Does that make her a naughty child, I wonder. I am joking, but it was such an obvious thing to think. Injections in the fridge take up nearly a whole shelf. They seem to come in such large boxes. I hadn't thought of freezing crumbles. Perhaps I should make one and portion it up just for me. I'd have to make something like apple tart for OH to have as well.

I think it's a shame about the cats, too. A similar thing happened to the Rescue where we got Eva. They were told they should get planning for a new, bigger site, but when it went to the Council it was turned down. They couldn't afford to appeal, so a lot of abandoned dogs lose out.

Tomorrow we're taking both GDs out. GD1 needs to visit the Fashion Museum in Blandford Forum to complete part of her project for GCSE Textiles. The whole class was taken to a fashion museum in London some time ago, but the school wouldn't take GD because she had an unresolved medical issue, even though the class teacher wanted to take her. So she's been waiting for a suitable exhibition to catch up with that work. She actually had her last year's project displayed in this museum some months ago, but the times it's open meant her having a day off school. Luckily the current exhibition, Youthquake: 1960s is relevant to her project. GD2 will also enjoy the day out and no doubt cake will be involved. OH has to get his car MOT'd first, so I'll take Eva over to their house and wait for OH there.
