Waiting for a new cooker hood to be delivered today , can't go anywhere as it's a 8- 6 delivery so could be anytime.

I have had to cancel my appointment at the Eys infirmary for tomorrow,
It took 35 minutes to get through ,
They open at 8-30 but I suppose Monday mornings are always busy,
I seemed to be number 3 in the queue forever,
Then I just took a drink of my tea when she answered🙄

I have been up since the crack of dawn so the bedrooms have had a clean through ,
They just need hoovering ,
I've done what needed doing downstairs and then I bees waxed my coffee table ,

Not much else to do now ,
I think I will settle down with my book for a hour 😁

Good Monday morning, everyone.

Plant, I share your frustration about the garden. There's so much I'd like to do, but have learned the hard way (the only way I ever learn!) that I can't do too much. I'm trying to see the benefits of certain weeds, like hairy bittercress. They act as ground cover and keep some of the more troublesome weeds at by! I keep reading about "weeds" that are edible but haven't got round to trying any of them yet. I let dandelions flower for the bees then take the seed heads off so they don't scatter. It's lovely to see the snowdrops flowering and winter aconites. I found a pulmonaria and a clump of primroses in flower in a sheltered corner the other day. Just try and enjoy what comes up and try not to worry about the gifts Mother Nature plants in the garden. It's lovely to have a well-stocked fridge and freezer so you can choose what you fancy at any time. We've been struck by the amazing scenery at the Winter Olympics. It's spectacular, isn't it. We've also enjoyed the snowboarding events partly because of the two commentators. They're so enthusiastic and spontaneous, and I'm sure they must be snowboarders themselves.

Nanto, I hope it stays nice. We need a bit of sunshine, don't we. Wouldn't it be nice to enjoy that pot of coffee sitting out in the garden, listening to the bird song.

Oma, have you cancelled your eye appointment because of the transport problem? Isn't it frustrating when you have to hold on the phone for so long. You've already done a day's work by the sound of it, so you've earned time to relax with your book.


It's sunny here, but chilly and very wet everywhere. I'm feeling lazy this morning, but I've got some paperwork to do, so I might see to that and get it off my desk.

Oma, you make me feel very lazy. Breakfast eaten, need to shower and get dressed. Dishwasher to empty. Stop it madam, making me feel lazy when I am. Lovely sunshine, I have at least fed my robin who comes every morning for its dried worms.

Right dressed, H has been in to test my heartbeat, I think I passed. Done some mending, feel quite pleased with myself. Now to unload the dishwasher. Had a visit yesterday from Dil, DS and GS (Birmingham Uni. One). He is about to buy his first house in Cheltenham, had enough of London. No GF in sight as yet. GD2, her partner and their little one were here too, so a house full. H was with her daddy. (I will fill you in)

Gem, how was Aqua, was it the deep water one? Was DD3 going to be in hospital overnight? Thinking of you all.

For goodness sake Oma, leave that dust alone, don’t disturb it. I hope your car is sorted soon.

Hallo everyone, a very excited GD1 has just phoned, she has passed her theory for driving! Her BF went to one of the day courses last year and he passed straight away, I was at theirs a few weeks ago and I said if she wanted to go I would pay! She soon got it all sorted and she had to be there at 6-30 this morning , I was going to take her but we actually had snow last night. No problem as DS1 took her. It is in the same building as where my friend lives that lost his wife 18 months ago, that is why I knew where it was. She was so pleased.

I have been to do the coffee, not busy at all, I only saw one client, 2 never turned up so I was home early.

I don't know if our lift is working or not, being serviced today. I have said I would pick GD1 but probably DS1 wants to go, it isn't far from here.

My car has to go for the MOT tomorrow. Then I have an appointment with my physio later on.

I got quite a few jobs done today, including the kitchen done top to bottom.

This afternoon was lovely and sunny, could feel a bit of heat from the sun.

Plant, you will never get bored. Your family will see to that. I hope your GS's house purchase goes through ok. Cheltenham is a nice place to live I should think, and although not cheap, it's less expensive than London. Is it closer to you and the rest of the family as well? You've been a busy bee today. Perhaps the sunshine helps.

Lizzie, congratulations to your GD1 on passing her theory driving test. Did the snow put off clients, do you think? I hope the lift was just being serviced. Fingers crossed for your car's MOT and your physio appointment tomorrow.

Nanto, I always think cleaning the kitchen is a big job - well done. Did you get out and enjoy the sunshine?

The lovely sunshine we had this morning had gone just after lunch. We had a small shower but it had clouded over and was very cold and windy. Eva and I wrapped up warm for our walk early afternoon. I got a couple of loads of washing done, rather than paperwork. You have to be in the mood for some things, don't you. I'm ready for an early night tonight.

We had some lovely sunshine today too Daisy and Nan2. Sadly just as our window cleaner drove off this afternoon a sharp rain shower arrived!

Plant the deep water Aquafit is on Sundays. I'm giving it a miss for a few weeks. I am the oldest there and it's hard . I'm not in the right place for struggling to do things at the moment. I hope to go back to it eventually.
Yes DD3 is in hospital. I will update on YEO, probably tomorrow.

I did my aqua class and quick coffee with my friend.
SIL went to see DD this afternoon. GS didn't want to go so stayed with us.
They have gone home.
We went to see DD tonight. We were ladened down! A big bag of clothes and other things SIL bought for her, an M&S meal cooked and wrapped in foil in a cool bag for her tea, an insulated jug I bought her to keep water cold, and a pillow!!
A good visit. Some tears, but laughs and good chat.

I will update YEO tomorrow.

Library for me. I didn't go last week as I was taking little E to nursery so I want to go today. I am very tired though so I think I may have a sleep later!
The golf course is yet again closed, they are getting together for bingo in the clubhouse.

Good morning, very cold and showery here, I have just taken my car, I usually walk back but borrowed a bike this time, not my thing! No hand brakes so I have to be careful!! Luckily it is not far and the schools have half term to not dodging the school children!!

Thanks Nanto, I don't drive much at all, but, I hope it passes , otherwise I would miss it! I have said I will drive to my 80th.

Sometimes when you need to do paperwork your mind just doesn't click into gear does it,
When your like that you take twice as long so better to wait till your ready,

Still waiting for a courtesy car,
If we haven't heard by later B is going to ring them,

SIL2 went to see MIL yesterday and after 30 minutes walked out,
MIL screaming and shouting at her and everyone was looking ,
She was refusing to get out of bed or eat so SIL just walked out.

Then last night MIL rang her a complete change of character all nice and chatty,
Honestly you couldn't make it up ,
Threatening to sign herself out , she wouldn't do it she just needs the drama,
Wants people to cajole her and pander to her , it didn't work yesterday .

I think I might sort some clothes in my wardrobe today just a tidy up ,
I know I have some PJs that need throwing out and I noticed this morning there are at least 4 blouses I haven't worn since last year,
They may go as well ,

The garage has just phoned, my tyres need replacing either now or next year as they are dried out! I told him I want to be safe so they are doing the all-season tyres, my DIL has just had them fitted there as well. The ones I have are 10 years old!!! I did expect that so no surprise there.

I have just got my suite oiled!! The chairs as well so all is nice and clean.
