Good morning, Daisy, your DH has done so well to learn to cook in a few months, it goes to show what one can do when need be!

Yes, DS2's partners DD and GD are very excited to be moving into their own home, the GD is at her fathers from Sunday to Wednesday evening so in fact she has 2 homes, it seems to be working well.

I may get to Delft later on, it depends on the weather.

Nanto, you should be able to sew!!

      Good morning all.

Nan2, I have zero sewing talents, they would never have employed me at that factory!

Daisy I am very impressed by your OH's new found skills. It proves it's never too late to learn

I'm glad the new cleaner is a success Plant.

Lizzie you will be a great sewing teacher for your GD. When my GD was younger she had a phase of wanting to learn to to sew, taught by her very talented Gran (not me!) The phase didn't last and sadly her Gran isnt able to do any sewing now.

Sunny here at present. We had a lot of rain yesterday.
Aqua for me. The Friday class doesn't start until 11, so by the time the class finishes and I get home, shower and lunch there isnt a lot of time before the school run. GS2 from school and here for tea as usual. So that's my day spoken for!

        Morning ladies.
Nanto my first job was in a sewing factory as a trainee cutter😁
It's ages since I had homemade mince pie, keep me some 😁

        Lizzie
It's nice that step GD can still go home to DS and her Mother even though they will have their own home now.

        Daisy
J is doing so well , it's always a good thing to learn a new skill,
        Was the pie nice?
Hope hospital appointment is quick today xx

        Plant
It's good to hear your cleaner is so good,
Have you seen the fox anymore? I hope it's ok.
Not long for GD2 now is it.

Waiting for the Dog walker then I will pop to M&S
Cats are clean and fed I might give my windows inside a clean today .
Have a good day ladies whatever you do.

Thanks Oma, Friday is the class that originally caused the problem so I am extra cautious!

Hubby out for his Friday meet up.

Dinner is homemade mince and onion pie, carrot, potato and swede mash, veg and gravy.
Nanto, it's surprising what all of us can do when we put our minds to it - my OH could just about find the kettle in the kitchen 6 months ago! Making a simple sandwich was a major task needing me to get ingredients out of the fridge for him. Although he did know where the Weetabix is kept for his breakfast!

Lizzie, I think OH is secretly quite proud of what he's done, and when I suggested a roast at the weekend he gave me a "look". Then I suggested I could get more sea bass instead, he said making a roast dinner seemed a great idea!

I'm sure your GD1 will be a good student learning to sew, and you will both enjoy the shared time together. I hope your DS2's partner's DD and GD absolutely love their new home. Have they got a moving date? (Sorry if you said and I've missed it.). Did you go to Delft today?

Gem, youngsters pick up new skills quickly, so I bet your GD remembers a lot of what her other Gran taught her. She may not use her skills for ages, but one day, who knows. xx. I hope you were ok after Aqua. The later start on a Friday eats into the rest of the day, but at least you don't have to rush out early in the morning, and with shorter days and colder weather that might be a blessing.

Oma, yes, thank you J's cottage pie was really tasty, and I think he enjoyed it as well. How is B today? I hope he's getting over that last cold. Have you heard any more from DD - are they having a great time?

Hospital was ok today - an injection and a calcium infusion. The ward was quite quiet for a change, and I was able to have a little chat with the lovely Portuguese nurse who was treating me. I admired some very pretty earrings she was wearing, and she told me she'd got engaged last week, and as she can't wear her engagement ring to work her fiancé also gave her the earrings. So we had a lovely few minutes chatting about their plans for the wedding.

We stopped for a chat and a cup of tea with DS2 when we went to collect Eva, and got home well before lunch. I've had a lazy afternoon, and OH has gone out tonight, so I'm going to make mushrooms on toast for my dinner.

Daisy, I didn't get to Delft, it was either raining or blowing a gale. It seems to be calmer now, I heard from my neighbours that we had thunder during the night, I didn't hear it though. DS1 phoned, he has been in Germany for his work, he flew into Schiphol at 7pm yesterday evening and the plane couldn't land because of the wind and rain! That is 30 kms up the road from here. He said they had to circle the airport until it was clear enough to land.

DS2 said the DD will be moving in after their holiday. The GD starts school in October, she went today for a few hours to get used to it. They do 4 or 5 times before they start so that they know what to expect.

                  Pleased Hospital was quick,
What a lovely idea about the earrings.

DD said they have been having a lovely time they hired a nice big car so have been all over the place plus the boys have had a few games of golf so they are happy and DD & Lucie have been shopping,

                  Lizzie
I hope GD enjoyed her few hours at school, I like the idea of a few hours at a time, they do that here and the little ones seem to be happier to go in that way,

I was going to take Storm to the Vet today as I thought he had a tick and I wasn't sure how to deal with it,
Anyway he went off with the dog walker but when I checked again when he came back whatever it was wasn't there anymore.

Lizzie, my GD2 has just started a new school and they had 3 or 4 half days there last term, met their class tutor, and some of their other teachers, had a good look round, stayed for lunch etc. It makes such a difference, no matter how old they are (my GD's 11). Let's hope the weather calms down a bit. It must have been awful for DS1 and fellow passengers and crew, just circling and possibly not sure when the wind would calm down enough to land. I know Schiphol is a very busy airport, so there must have been a whole stack of planes waiting. Hopefully the weather is calmer for a while now.

Oma, I thought the earrings were a lovely idea, too. All the nurses are lovely but I have a little running "thing" with her. She has given me loads of injections over the last few months, and has never left a bruise, so I always remind her, jokingly, and she says "no pressure on me then", but I can see she's pleased that I notice. We have a little giggle over it.

Ticks are horrible. Thank goodness Storm's dropped off outside. Eva gets them occasionally, and it usually takes both me and OH to remove it. I once took one of our dogs to the vet to have a tick removed. It was right on his eyelid and I was too scared to do it.

Good morning, ran stopped about ½ an hour ago, after raining for two hours.

Oma, glad you didn't need to go to the vets.

I thought the earrings were a good idea as well.

Lizzie, hope your weather has calmed down.
I can remember a bad accident at Schiphol airport.
We were away on holiday at the time, but i can remember getting up one morning and it was on tv.

Going to the farm shop this morning.
Then onto the garden centre. I need a few birthday cards from there and a few other bits.
We will eat at the garden centre as well.

Good morning, Nan2, Oma and everyone.

We have couple of of garden centre cafes near here with good cafes Nan2. I hope you have a good shopping trip and meal.

Good that you saved an expensive vets trip Oma

Daisy, its a good nurse that can give injections with no bruising. She will be pleased that you commented I bet.

                          No plans here today!

No plans for me either, cloud cover seems to be getting darker, rain forecasted. Feeling very slow this morning but I have managed to give the shower screen a good clean. I had blood taken this week, very young nurse, no bedside manner but very tiny bruise. We have had a fox visiting us and settling in the orchard for the day, we wonder if it is injured. H is very excited to see it. DD has bought some dog food for it.

Morning Oma, looking after Storm seems to be going to plan. Family having a good time away.

Nanto, enjoy your visit to the farm shop and enjoy your lunch in the garden centre, one meal you don’t have to cook.

Gemini, enjoy your relaxing, no plans, day. Have you fixed a few days break?

                                Good Saturday afternoon, everyone.

Nanto, farm shop and garden centre, plus a meal out - this is definitely a good day.

Gem, I think good cafes are essential to a garden centre's success. Sadly our largest garden centre, with wonderful food is now so busy and noisy it puts me off going there. How did golf go for S this week? Enjoy your free day.

Plant, enjoy your slow starts to the day. I know for many years we were all probably rushing round like mad things in the mornings and it can still be hard to say "I don't need to do this, I can relax with another coffee, etc". I hope the fox is ok - is it the same one you saw the other day? Has H started school this week? If so, how did she enjoy it?

Oma, I hope you got your jobs done. It's handy having a dog walker, especially when the weather's damp and miserable. Love the photo of GS. He does look the part.

I followed my own advice and has a slow start today. Then Sainsburys turned up a whole hour early - I was still in my dressing gown - very glamorous, of course (NOT). I still haven't started on my list of jobs. By the time I'd battled with Sainsbury's website to report items not delivered, which I didn't notice immediately as OH carried everything through, and am currently doing some other paperwork, the day is slipping by. I'll take Eva out just before tea, and hopefully it won't be raining.
