Good Thursday morning, everyone. (Well, not strictly morning by the time I've posted this!)
Nanto, what a bright perky little bird to greet the new day. Your dinner sounds just what I fancy. Can I pop round, please?
Gem, you're right, about the UXBs - fortunately. They must have thought it was safe enough to move to the golf course. How did the members feel about having it detonated there? Enjoy your day with E. When does SIL get home - Saturday?
Oma, I can just imagine your face when B said keep walking and don't let on it was one of "ours". Quite scary, though. I hope your hand's ok. Were you doing something repeatedly with it - like sweeping up? I hope you got MIL a nice big cream cake.
Eva is curled up on the sofa, fast asleep! Poor dog had to be starved from midnight last night and for a dog who expects her breakfast the minute she gets up, she was very puzzled that we ignored her pleas this morning. But, we got to the vets, and she checked Eva's gland - and it had healed up! So we were in and out in a few minutes, with only a small bill for her ongoing eostrogen tablets. Very pleased and very relieved.
OH is going to his wood turning club tonight, so he'll drop Eva at DS2's on the way. It's worked out well as GD1 has a bad cold, and they were worried about me catching it.
No plans for the rest of today, but I'm hoping I might feel like pottering in the garden this afternoon - it's a lovely sunny day, but not too hot yet.
"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
Daisy, good news about Eva.
You may feel like doing something later, just play it by ear.
A dull and not very warm day here!
Little E and I have been to the library this morning. We played in the garden a bit first, but I wouldn't want to spend all day out there today.
The bomb was dealt with at the golf course early in the morning yesterday, so in fact the holes where then open again for the competition.
The course joins MOD land so they maybe have an arrangement to let bombs be dealt with there.

Gemini,How exciting and worrying for a WW2 bomb to be found. E will be excited that he is staying the night.
Daisy Good news that your OH didn’t need to have an injection in his eye. Games afternoon was good, I did win one game. Good company makes it enjoyable. Veg and lentil curry sounds good
Nanto, Overcast here too, quite chilly. Your dinner would suit me fine.
Oma, I hope you find Mil in good spirits, she will love her cake surprise.
I have ordered myself a Rollator walker. I am okay around the house but I am sitting down regularly but walking a small distance outside I am anxious about falling and I get backache. We shall see how it helps.
GGS 2 is next door today (mother working) He is an absolute delight. I have been in there watching him play. GGC5 is cooking nicely, GD looks well.

Plant, yes, gD1 has been under pressure for two or three weeks with internal exams , but she wants to get 100% in every subject!! It's good she aims high, but she's a total perfectionist. Eva tucked into her breakfast as soon as we got home! GGS2 sounds delightful. I've lost track of how old he is now, though. Well done on the game you won. The Rollator will make a big difference when you're out and about. It will help you to feel safer, and if you can sit on it it means you can have a rest if you feel like it.
Gem, little E must love all the interesting things you do with him. Glad to hear the bomb has been dealt with safely.

Good morning. Sun is up. I think it's forecast to be a bit warmer today.
Yesterday turned into a busy day. Hubby was helping bro in law move some flagstones he'd had delivered.
I helped sis in law to move some plants in the garden.
Hubby out for his usual Friday meet up.
Gem,glad the bomb was dealt with.
Daisy, good that OH didn't need an injection.
I'm sure you're GD will do well with her exams.
Upstairs cleaning for me today.
Baby potatoes, bacon and beans for dinner. I think there is a bit of coleslaw that needs using up as well.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
Nan2 I certainly hope it is warmer today. It was quite chilly here yesterday.
How is your hand Oma?
Plant I'm sure you will find your rollator useful. I think they are a really good aid to maintaining mobility. Your little GGS sounds adorable
DD3 wants to go for a run before work as she hasn't been able to with SIL away (until tomorrow night) I am up now so once she's ready she can go and I will be here for little E.
This morning they are going to visit the new nursery he starts next week. This afternoon they have his appointment at the eye clinic, to discuss options. DD1 is going with them and GS1 will come here, and with me to collect GS2 from school. Both boys back here for tea.
OH and I are having our hair cut this morning. Golf again for OH but not until 4, so a bit of a rest first!

Morning ladies
It's bright but still on the chilly side,
Nanto
I bet they were glad of the help in the garden , both heavy back breaking jobs,
I have bought those stands on wheels for my big Lilly pots I can't lift them.
Gem
Hope his eye appointment goes well , nice that mummy has aunty's support.
My hand is still bruised but not painful just sore if I press on it , the bruise doesn't look as dark today so must be getting better.
MIL has another chest infection so won't get out this week,
She's on oxygen and 15 minutes bursts of nebuliser 4 times a day,
She was very chatty though, we had a laugh and she ate her cake.
We had to keep pushing her to drink though , she's terrible for not getting enough fluids.
I know she isn't thirsty but they have told her she must drink more.
Dog day today so not doing much,
I had a really bad sleepless night, I started in our bed then the spare bed then the sofa and back to our bed.
Eventually at 5 am I gave up and just got up.
So everything done ,
I think I will have a nana nap after lunch, Storm like to come in about 1 and have a nap so I will follow him 😁
Oma, Sorry to hear your Mil has another chest infection but I suppose with her smoking it is to be expected. I hope she will be home soon. Go slowly today after your sleepless night.
Gemini, Hope all goes well at the clinics for GGS3, good that his mummy has support. Busy day for you collecting GS etc.
Nanto, I hope you can get outside after you finish the cleaning. Dinner sounds yummy as usual.
Daisy, your GD1 is certainly a perfectionist wanting such high grades, I hope she achieves the grades she wants. How is her sister doing? GGS2 is just over a year now, not walking yet except around the furniture.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
Nanto, you did have a busy (and tiring?) day yesterday, but I'm sure Brother and Sister in Law were grateful for the extra pairs of hands. Yes, it's warmer here today as well. Dinner sounds tasty. I don't often think about cooking baby potatoes, bacon and bean, but it's something I loved as a child. But bacon was very different then. Do you get yours from a proper butcher/grocer?
Plant, GGS2 will soon have you all chasing him everywhere. He's probably already at the stage where you need eyes in the back of your head to keep track of him. Does he crawl quickly? Our GD2 is fine. After 4 days of SATS tests she went in really excited today - they have organised an "adventure" day for Year 6, so no classroom lessons, just lots of fun, and of course, the promised doughnut. It's a lovely school who really do work hard to make school a happy place. GD1 had online parents' evening last night, and all her teachers were full of praise for her work ethic. We don't know where she gets that from - neither her mum and dad nor any of her grandparents were conscientious students!
Oma, poor MIL, that can't be pleasant for her. I wish hospitals could find some way of making sure patients do drink enough water. Those plastic jugs are awful, and water tastes flat out of them. Does your MIL like those 'sweets' which are very hydrating - almost the size of gobstoppers, but fruity liquid inside? What a terrible night you had. I hope you (and Storm) have managed a nap this afternoon. Would she eat something hydrating like melon/water melon slices?
Gem, I hope GS3's new nursery is nice. It must be hard trying to make judgements about a new place. Does DD3 normally run regularly? I'm sure it's very good for her - she's a busy lady and I keep reading about the benefits of running (not that I'm thinking of starting any time soon!).
It was a long slow wait at the hospital today. The pharmacy is short-staffed and the injections are made up individually for each patient. Mine didn't arrive for nearly 2 hours! I mentioned that that was the end of the current cycle but I hadn't got a appointment with the doctor yet. No letter, no info on the App. I finally got a phone call to say they'd speak to me on Tuesday afternoon (telephone appointment?). The chap thought they'd want to see me. I pointed out we live an hour away and the main route into the hospital will be closed next week so phoning me for an appointment on the same day wasn't an option, and I wouldn't have time to get a blood test anyway. So they took the blood test on the ward today, and I wait to see what happens next. The care is amazing, but sometimes communication is very poor, and possibly their knowledge of local Geography isn't good either. I'll wait and see what happens. Otherwise all ok, and I'm having a nice lazy afternoon. We collected Eva on the way home, and she's sleeping off her play date with Cooper!
I hope everyone is ok.
"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "
That bedding will be dry Nan2. I do appreciate being able to dry everything outdoors over summer.
Daisy, long waits are tedious, frustrating and tiring. Lack of communication about appointments is a stress we can do without.
I'm glad to hear your GD enjoyed the final SATs day. Doughnuts help
GS1's nursery visit went well. I haven't heard about the hospital yet. They could still be there.
GS1 and 2 are relaxing over Teen Titans while I have a cuppa before I make their tea. Tortellini and garlic bread is wanted tonight, so an easy make for me. They usually have something ice cream based from the freezer for pudding.
OH won't finish this golf match until around 7. There is a good Chinese takeaway close to the golf club so she is picking us up a meal on her way home .
Lovely sunny afternoon here, with breeze.
