Good morning everyone, very sunny here for the celebrations, it was much cooler yesterday though.

I am still not completely recovered, certainly not coughing as much as I was.

I went on the bike to DS1 yesterday to take some veg etc, , DIL1 is going to Wimbledon, from her work, she has no idea about tennis, but, it will be an experience! Then both of them are invited to a gala dinner hosted by the navy, Princess Anne will be there, that is in October, in Greenwich. The same source, her work!

Gem, garden centres are always busy here, I see the one not far from here is going to be much bigger, more land, bigger restaurant etc, the one here in the village are doing the same, it will be another year before it is completed, the restaurant there is finished, looks really nice as well. DS1 and DIL often go for plants etc.

Daisy, a lady I knew has 3 cats, the youngest of them, was only 4 at the time, was diabetic, it needs 2 injections a day and exactly the same time, very strict and difficult to live a life round the exact times. Plus the cost of it all.

Nanto, I hope you hubby got what he went for at the car boot sale.

Good morning, sun is shining, but we noticed some spots of rain on the patio doors when we got up, but the ground is dry.
We didn't have any rain yesterday.

No plans today for us, we'll just see how the day goes.

The sun is out here but spots of rain in-between, it's cold also.

How lovely to get invited to these occasions, I like princess Ann she doesn't get enough credit I think.

I have the same with my Insulin , it has to be the same time each day , half a hour before I eat.
I inject myself as soon as I wake up then wait 30 minutes before breakfast, then again just before tea.
I can have a little flexibility with the tea time one if I'm out for tea ect , but it is difficult arranging things around it.

The men are supposed to be coming to clean my facias and guttering this morning,
I'm not sure if they realise it's bank holiday.
I haven't heard anything so I'm assuming they are still coming.

We were both up early this morning so everything done,
I do have some ironing I didn't get done yesterday with being at the baby shower.

DIL is doing some exciting things for her job Lizzie

Oma, it's a bit of a none event really this particular bank holiday, so they probably will come to do your gutters.

Today is my DD3's birthday. They have been to Nottingham for the weekend as it was her FIL's 80th birthday over the weekend. They are coming back today and we have loose arrangement to possibly meet up with them, depending when they are back etc!
I have aqua this morning, no other plans apart from possibly seeing DD3 and family.

Good Bank Holiday Monday everyone. I hope the sun is shining for you.

Lizzie, your cough must be getting you down, so I hope it really is getting better soon. Your DIL has an interesting job, and even if she isn't a huge tennis fan, I'm sure she will enjoy the atmosphere, and the strawberries and cream. A few years ago my BIL was invited to a naval gala dinner which Princess Anne attended. I remember him saying artichoke hearts were served and everyone waited to see how she dealt with hers. I agree with Oma, Princess Anne doesn't get enough credit for all her hard work. Your friend certainly had her work cut out caring for such a young diabetic cat. It must be hard to let it outside because you never know when they'll come back. At least our dog was in the house and I found it easy to give him his injections at 7.30 and then 5 o'clock in the afternoon.

Nanto, enjoy your go-with-the-flow day and easy dinner. Hopefully it will be warm enough to sit out in the garden for a while.

Oma, quite a lot of people seem to be working today, and you've reminded me we need to get our gutters cleaned. I wish this Bank Holiday could be moved to say the end of June/beginning of July, or even the end of October to coincide with half term. We get so many all at once then have to wait till the end of August for the next one.

Gem, very happy birthday to your DD3. I hope they all enjoyed the week-end in Nottingham and her FIL's birthday celebrations.

We've nothing special planned for today, apart from some washing and I need to give the kitchen a good clean. I meant to do it yesterday but never got round to it.

I have spent most of the day watching the celebration in London, wonderful show. Lovely to see the Royal Family joining in. Of course I remember the street party in our road and the relief that the war was ended.

We haven't bothered watching the VE celebrations.

Daisy, we had a quick cuppa in the garden earlier this morning when the sun came out.
But, its been quite cloudy as well and cool.

OH has spent most of the day steam cleaning the part of the patio he regrouted last week. It's looking much better and means we can put plant pots etc back in place. I did a bit of washing and cleaned half the kitchen before I decided enough was enough!

It went very cold this afternoon, and I still can't get warm again. I fancy an early night!

Good morning, I think it's forecast to be a bit warmer today. It's looking nice and bright now.

It took me hours to get to sleep last night.

Usual Tuesday morning for us. Hubby out with his pal this morning, then this afternoon he's got the quad booked in for it's MOT.

My plans are to clean upstairs this morning.

Pork steaks for dinner with veg, mash and gravy. OH, and apple sauce.

Oma, my OH is strange like your DD! I love all the sauces with meat. OH wont even have horseradish!
I'm sure MIL will enjoy her cream cake. We didn't see DD3 yesterday in the end, but I had a chat on the phone with her last night.

Library for me this morning, I am expecting a busy morning as the library was closed yesterday for the bank holiday.
Golf competition for OH. I may go shoe shopping this afternoon.

Good morning, I must be like your OH Gem, I don't like any sauces on my meat, I never have done, I don't like the taste of anything with a different taste added! If you can follow that, I love coffee, but, it has be coffee and nothing else, the same with tea, no fruity tastes.
