I'm late joining in today, but hope everyone is having a good Saturday.
Nanto, you must be relieved to hear your hubby is over his operation, and I bet he's looking forward to sleeping in his own bed tonight. Did they do the keyhole procedure? Will you have to be strict with him to stop him doing too much while he recovers? I've got a friend who swears it can take two weeks for a general anaesthetic to completely clear your system, so I hope it's not the case for your hubby. I can imagine he'll want to be up and doing things. Sending lots of love and very best get well wishes.
Gem, I hope your day has gone to plan and little E is back to his normal sunny self. How did the foraging day go for DD? I'm also wondering if the floor is finished now?
Oma, you just can't win sometimes with the sizing of clothes. But it's a nuisance having to make a special journey to take things back. Can you just change them for a smaller size - short sleeved cardigans are so useful for the summer. Your new bedroom decor sounds beautiful - restful and serene. Any chance of a photo or two when you've finished the footstool?
Plant, is it today the family go on holiday? Has the person helping you with the borders been yet? The weeds seem to thrive despite the dry conditions, don't they.
I've had a very lazy start to the day, despite waking up at 6.30 for the bathroom. OH cooked salmon, Anya potatoes and three veggies for lunch, and has rewarded himself by taking the kit car out for a run. He did wonder if I wanted to go as well, but it's not something I could cope with at the moment.

Daisy, you need take it easy right now and not push yourself. Your OH is doing a good job with the meals by the sound of it.
Nan2, hoping your hubby is home soon and settled in. You will need your nurses cap!
DD didn't go to her foraging day. It is the second of a course she is booked on so she will be able to go to the next one. She really wanted to go but GS just wasn't happy to be left. He was better today ( maybe because he wasn't missing mummy) He is still not right though. He's not eating much and we could tell when he was due medicine. We all spent the morning feeding the ducks and going to play park. We were in the garden most of the afternoon and GS had a good nap. We didn't go back with DD as I'm sure SIL could do with an easy evening after his busy days.
OH and I have just had a lovely Chinese takeaway.

You need a couple of days rest after treatment then you just start feeling a bit normal and it's Friday again 🥴
Yes I will take a photo when it's done.
DD rang B in a panic , she and SIL had been to the garden centre and a car pulled along side her on the way home ,
He was flagging her down to tell her her back tyre was on fire.
She was on the slip road so SIL managed to put the fire out and push the car onto the grass.
B went to have a look he thinks something has been caught inbetween the break pads and brake discs.
They waited till it had cooked down and B had a look and said there was red dust from the disks so he thinks his theory was right,
SIL drove it slowly home with B & DD following.
He's told her not to use it till it's been checked out.
Only problem is the mechanic that deals with her car who is a friend is going on holiday for two weeks.
Not a problem really as she works from home .
I'm pleased SIL was with her , although she is a very capable strong woman this scared her a bit.
Aww poor E but I think DD did the right thing , especially if she can do another day.
Gem, I'm sure your DD wouldn't have enjoyed the foraging - she would have been thinking about E and probably worrying, as all mothers do. I hope he's not sickening for something, You mentioned he might have been starting a cold - are his ears ok? I remember that happening to our GS2 when he was around E's age and it was actually an ear infection needing antibiotics.
Oma, what a shock for your DD. Thank goodness she wasn't on her own, and B was able to go to help. .
Nanto, thinking about you and your hubby. I hope he's home and as comfortable as possible. Sending hugs. xxx

Hubby doing OK.No pain from the surgery.
Just sorting his hydration out now.
Sorry I haven't been on much, not feeling my best. Felt sick all the time he's been in hospital.
Probably me getting worked up over nothing.
Stupid aren't I.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
Morning Nanto
Your not being stupid, it's a shock when someone is taken into hospital suddenly ,
Then the worry when they go down for the op .
Hopefully now he's home you will start to relax and feel better,
Good to here he's not in pain xxx
Daisy
How are you today , did you sleep ok ? Xx
Gem
I hope E is feeling better now poor baby , you so feel for them at that age as they can't really say what's wrong can they
Just did my housework, got washer on , B washed all the floors just had to wait till I had been in the shower to finish off,
He said he thought I was staying in there for the day I took so long , cheeky 😁
Need to go for veg this morning but apart from that nothing else to do,
I hoovered the garden yesterday just to tidy it till we get the new astro turf down ,
Moved my Lilly pots they coming up nicely so they are in the sun now but the pots were heavy and I strained my back slightly , it's ok just a bit sore.
I went to my elderly neighbours yesterday, I watched him getting out of his son's car and he was using a stick and stooped over ,
I went to see if he was ok , he had fallen over one of these metal bollards outside the supermarket,
The sun was glinting off it and he didn't see it ,
It hit him in the groin and he went over.
He really should have gone to the hospital as he's in pain,
He said he will ring the Dr on Monday ,
His son tried always to get him to the hospital but at almost 90 he's from that get on and deal with it generation,
I told him he could have fractured his hip he just doesn't know,
Hopefully he will go to see someone.
Good morning, I haven't been able to get onto the forum, after a few mails and new passwords it has worked.
Nanto, naturally you would be worried, that is what we do
Oma, that sounds awful with the car, I hope it can soon be checked and repaired.
Gem, your poor GS3, I do hope he is soon feeling better.
Daisy, take it easy and let your DH look after you, I bet Eva is looking at you with her "want a walkie" face!
Our "new" lift wasn't working yesterday evening, a long story, we didn't have a number to phone so I found it on the internet, apparently the man was here very quickly, I am wondering if it was the heat that did it, maybe the fan not working right, it did feel quite hot in there all the week, I dreaded thinking of how it would be in the summer months.
Nan2, worrying isnt silly. When our OHs are ill or undergoing treatment or surgery we do feel anxious and not right. I'm sure you will both feel better once he's home xx
Lizzie well done you for persevering and getting back onto the forum!
That poor man Oma, he could easily have broken his hip and would be wise to have it checked over really.
Daisy, we weren't sure if it was his ears, but he said they didn't hurt. He did have temperature a couple of time though. Report this morning is he seems a lot better
No plans for us today. As I had 3 consecutive childcare days booked in I kept today free! Of course in the end DD was here too yesterday so there wasn't as much to do.

Nanto, of course you are anxious about your OH, it was so sudden but it has been dealt with now. You will be pleased when you have him home.
Gemini, I hope your GS3 is feeling better, difficult when they can’t tell you what is wrong. Enjoy your days off.
Daisy, my DD and Sil go on holiday on Wed. Just for a week. My DS and Dil are away too for part of the time so I am pleased GD is here.
Lizzie, How do you manage when the lift is not working? I hate lifts, always worry they are going to breakdown.
Oma, what a dreadful thing to happen to your DD’s car, good job she wasn’t far from home. Nearly at the end of your jobs, you will be able to sit back and enjoy. (Pigs might fly)
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
Nanto, I was quite surprised when you said hubby might have been home earlier. Keyhole surgery is amazing, but it's still surgery. You can't help worrying though and your system and emotions will be in shock as well as his. Be kind to yourself. Sending you love and hugs.

Today isn't going to plan. We woke up later than usual, had breakfast and sat and relaxed for a while. We'd just got out into the garden ready to tackle some weeds and the heavens opened! The rain lasted all of 5 minutes but of course the garden was soaked, so OH is doing some dusting and hoovering (He's much more thorough than me, I've noticed) and I've done a bit of ironing and am now having a rest.
