Plant, sounds like a lovely lunch for you.

It's absolutely wild tonight. Strong wind, rain lashing down.

Lizzie, Happy St Nicholas' Day. Are you having a family get together today, or is it more of a working day?

Nanto, it's raining here but not too windy - yet. I've just got back from walking Eva and it was all ok.

Oma, poor you. You must have felt awful feeling like that in the supermarket. But it's a clear message that you really have to take things easy and build up your strength again. I do hope B isn't starting with it as well. Big hugs. xx

Plant, how lovely to meet up with an old friend. Cars seem to get parked/dumped all over the place these days.

Gem, your GS3 will "get" Christmas this year - I bet he's already picking up on the excitement. What did you do today? We're having salmon for dinner tonight. Quick and easy (provided it's defrosted!). I hope S enjoys her golf club dinner as well.

I feel a fraud for moaning last night - I woke up feeling perfectly OK, thank goodness but thank you all for your kind wishes.

OH had a hearing test booked for 9.15 this morning. It was only about 6 miles away, but after heavy overnight rain we had to gamble between navigating floods or up to 4 sets of temporary traffic lights. We chose the lights and it was the right choice - they'd all gone. OH has now got new hearing aids - NHS ones that he can control from his phone. Time will tell whether he finds this a good idea or not, as he's not great at carrying his phone with him.

We got back home in time for me to get changed and play flood roulette getting to the golf club to meet up with my college friends. The golf club has just reopened after extensive alterations. The layout works much better, and it looks lovely. Unfortunately the new hard floor makes it very noisy and echoey so there was a lot of "sorry, what did you say"s! Still lovely to see them.

It must be December, because tomorrow it's OH's Pensioners' Club Annual Lunch in Bournemouth. We're giving two friends a lift and have to drop Eva off at DS2's first (for once, it's on our way!), so another fairly early start.

Daisy, it is very much a children's thing, they go to school, get their surprises, poems etc then maybe celebrate it at home, most do it at the weekends, we usually do something with the girls but DS1 is in Istanbul, the first time he is away, GD1 will celebrate with the children at her work project, GD2 probably at a friends. It had rained all day long, in fact, been dark all day!

I went to my friends hubby's, he is coping on his own, flying to his son and family in Norway this evening, the couple have a house there and my friend loved it, it will be difficult for him going alone for the first time. The son and family are close so they will all have a nice family time, in fact the GD will be 16 tomorrow so they will be celebrating that.

Lizzie, I think St Nicholas' Day sounds fun, especially for the children. At least your GDs are old enough to find different ways to celebrate with their Dad being away. It sounds like a dreary day weather-wise, though.

Your friend's hubby is doing well, although I'm sure it will be strange for him going to Norway on his own. I hope they have a lovely celebration for the birthday girl.

Daisy, I'm happy to hear your cold didn't materialise!

            Lunch sounds nice Plant.

We had a terrible rain storm this afternoon and early evening. GS3 and I had to abandon the conservatory/playroom as the sound on the roof was deafening!
It did benefit me, as DD and SIL3 arrived wet and wanting to wait a while before their drive home. They had fish and chips and treated me to the same So the salmon is in the fridge for another night. Little GS sat in his highchair and had some bread a few chips and bit of fish as a second tea .
I bought him a Christmas jumper from Vinted (new with labels, half the shop price) he tried it on and loves it.

                Good morning, still windy here.

                Love the Christmas jumper.
GD1 gets a lot of our Tommie's new clothes of vinted. Brand new and often less than half price.

I'm going to get some washing on, then do a few more jobs.
Hubby out for a couple of hours with his pal.

Toad in the hole with mash, veg and gravy for dinner.

Plant, please have a turn at doing the advent calendar.

                  Morning Nanto/Ladies.
A bright morning here and the wind has dropped Nanto.

Plant isn't early riser so we need to leave a day so she can post on advent in her own time , we will just remind her it's waiting 😀

Not a good night so all the lights went in the wash very early , they all dry courtesy of my new tumble dryer that arrived yesterday,
I have pottered and did some tidying but that's as much energy as I can muster.

I feel very lazy but I just don't care at the moment , it's not like the house is dirty I just feel like I have done very little .

How are we all today ? Xxx

Good Friday morning, everyone. We had a beautiful sunrise and it's still shining.

We'r off out soon for a Christmas lunch. We're picking friends up and taking Eva over to DS2's first then heading into Bournemouth.

I hope everyone is ok. I'll catch up later.

                      Good morning everyone.

The jumper is very cute, and the snow part is a bit furry.
Nan2, they get a lot of GS3's clothes from Vinted too .

Oma you.would have to leave the housework for a very long time before your house would be dirty! Listen to your body and take it easy.
There seems to be a lot of poorly people about generally. One of OH's friends had to miss last night's golf dinner due to a bad cold/virus.

It's a GS day today. He is here this morning so that DD can go to her monthly Friday morning group. She is going out this evening so I will go over there to babysit. Her dad had offered originally, but as often happens he realised he was double booked

Last night's storm knocked out our Sky so none of the programmes we record were recorded.
We will find them on Catch up this afternoon.

Oma, pleased to hear you are feeling a bit brighter, now don’t over do it. Only now am I feeling like doing gentle jobs.

Daisy, enjoy your lunch in Bournemouth, I would love a blow at the seaside.

Nanto, I am off over to the Advent Calendar now.

As you can see, I have failed miserably to post and Advent picture. Feel free to fill the space.

I had my regular bowel cancer screening and OH her mammogram in the past couple of weeks. Both results come back clear, so that's nice for Christmas

Good afternoon Ladies! I'm sitting waiting for my DB to arrive for the weekend. He was at his company's Christmas part last night somewhere in the Midlands and thought he'd come and visit me since he was half way here already. Looking forward to seeing him.

Making progress albeit slowly! I can get about indoors without a crutch, but am still using them outdoors and if my leg feels sore, indoors with one. It was bliss earlier this week when the dressing finally came off and I could sit under the shower!

I even managed to dust and hoover downstairs yesterday, though I had to have a sit own to recover! I don't know the last time I did any housework!!! Apologies to the bleach babes

I think I've dome all my Christmas shopping. I just ned to get birthday cards for DD and DS. How could I have forgotten to get them before I couldn't get to the shops?

We're off to a Thai restaurant tomorrow evening. DB has never been to one but he likes Thai curries. So I've booked a table for us and DD and SiL. There's a Thai in the village, but none of us like it, so this is one that we've been to many times in another village.

Lizzie I have many happy memories of The Sint. We arranged for him to visit the house while we were there! An absolutely brilliant experience for the children. The Black Petes were there too, but I believe they've been banned now!

Hope all poorly people soon recover. Have a good afternoon ladies x

Believe you can and you're halfway there.
