Had a lovely trip out although it was raining hard and the wind was wild ,
Just passed Scotch corner on the A66 they closed it to high sided vehicles,

We had a browse around then went for lunch,
We were going to go to the lambing sheds to see the new born lambs and pigmy goats but no way we're we battling across the farm yard in that weather,
We bought a few treats like cakes, lovely home made marmalade, some ribs B liked the looks of and a small fruit pantone.
It's very expensive and I think more so this year but they always have lovely things in ,
Ideal if your looking for a special gift.

They had a gorgeous white little ram foot stool in , so fluffy with a sweet face but it was £195
Not something you can just say I will buy that 😄
Although it would have looked really good in my sitting room 😁

By then my hip was really painful so we came home and I sat with a heat pack on and took some pain killers.

Gem, it sounds as though you will enjoy going back to where you went last night. It's great when you find a new eaterie you like. How was your friend - I hope she's feeling a bit less sad. I hope your DDs and their Dad have a good time. It's the sort of day to snuggle down and catch up on some tv!

Oma, I'm burning with curiosity to know what you bought at Mainsgill Farm. I've just Googled it and I think I could spend a day there easily, and probably put on half a stone with all the goodies! It sounds such an interesting place. I've been wondering how B is as well. Has the sickness stopped?

Welcome to Mainsgill Farm located 4 miles from Scotch Corner, heading west on the A66 in North Yorkshire, Mainsgill Farmshop & Tearoom is popular with local residents and passing travellers alike! Also known as the Farmshop with the Camels.

Nanto, sometimes the way things are organised can't be improved!

Plant, you certainly had a busy day yesterday. Did you have a good time at lunch with the family today? Our GDs are 14½ and 11 now. Very different personalities and interests, but they're both very good company.

I did salmon three different ways - crispy skin, herby salmon and salmon with sweet chilli jam. It went down very well! They were too full for pudding but they both managed large classic Magnums instead!

We've had a lovely day with the GDs and Cooper. Eva and Cooper have spent most of the day carrying big squashy soft toys round, showing them to us and then wandering off again! The girls had fun trying out my new watercolour paints this morning, and GD1 and I made an interesting (to us!) discovery - we sign paintings with exactly the same signature - just two initials - but identical! GD1 said she spent ages coming up with a signature that she was convinced was unique.

B is much better , still feeling a bit queasy now and then but nothing like he was ,
How strange you both sign the same way , it must be in the blood 😁
The salmon sounds lovely, I like sweet chilli jam with mine or Teriyaki sauce .

        Mainsgill. Is amazing ,
The food hall isn't cheap but all the meat is from their own farm, all the pies and cakes and and stuff like that made on site ,
It's always packed , the Cafe is huge and they have a conservatory bigger than our house and that's always packed too,
You never queue for long though they have so many staff and are very quick.
We brought home some cakes well B got a massive cream slice that he had to half and I got a sherry trifle 😁

We will have the Panettone sometimes during the week it looks lovely

Good morning. The wind has calmed down,it was wild yesterday.

Daisy, what a coincidence you both sign your paintings the same way.

Oma, glad B is feeling a bit better.
The farm shop we go to,sells meat from their own farm.
We don't buy many pies there,
some of the fillings are not to my taste.

Going to change the bedding and clean upstairs.
Don't think I'll get the bedding out on the line, rain is forecast.

Ham and pineapple pizza for dinner. Not had pizza since before Christmas.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

            Good morning everyone.

Daisy, how amazing about the signatures

I like the sound of those puds you brought home Oma!

We don't have pizza often either Nan2. I have to be in the mood for it.

Today is my DD1's birthday. She, her sisters and I are meeting for lunch. I imagine GS1 will be joining us.
Aqua for me this morning, I will go straight to lunch after coffee with my friends.
Tonight DD and her best friend are going out to eat. I will be babysitting.

              Good Monday morning, everyone.

Nanto, those snowdrops look amazing. They look so delicate yet they survive all this awful winter weather unharmed. We're not mad on pizza either, but ham and pineapple is OH's favourite when we do have it.

Gem, very happy birthday to your DD1. I hope she has a lovely day with you all, and a good time with her best friend this evening. It sounds like a busy but enjoyable day for you - and no cooking!

Oma, thank goodness B is feeling less sick now. It must be a horrible feeling, poor man. The treats from Mainsgill sound delicious. No wonder it's so busy. I like panettone but some shop-bought ones aren't great.

It's pouring with rain here and there's a lot of standing water. Luckily we don't have to go out today, although OH is out this evening. I've got a load of washing on with a couple more to do. Eva had her breakfast and has gone back to bed after her busy day with Cooper! But I'm sure if I said the magic "walkies" word she'd be up like a shot.

I hope everyone is ok and the weather is better where you are.

Very wet here too Daisy, some holes closed on the golf course according to OH's email from the club. She's not playing until tomorrow.

I still have to cook Daisy It's my turn to cook tonight. OH isnt joining us for lunch and it will be more of snack lunch during DD1 and 2's lunch break. I imagine I will be making something quick tonight though if I have to eat then get over to babysit for DD to go out!
I am wondering if DD3 will want to come here after our lunch so GS3 can have his afternoon nap here. We shall see

Gem, yes, definitely something quick and easy - or have you got a meal in the freezer you can use?

                    Morning ladies

Gem a very happy Birthday to your DD 🥳 how old is she today?
Enjoy lunch, I'm sure you will 😁🎂🎁🍾

                    Nanto
I'm not a pizza lover like Gem I have to be on the mood and that's not often but B likes them ,
M&S do a nice one just mozzarella and basil I like that one.

                    Daisy
Eva must be worn out , I love the idea of her dragging herself out of bed for breakfast then going back,
                    I wish I could , I said to B I'm coming back as a pampered pooch 🤣🤣

We have been to take the stuff to the charity shop then down to Lidl for a few things and B&M.

Before that I went to our pharmacy to speak to the pharmacist.
When I had my meds delivered on Thursday I just put them in the cupboard,
Last night I went to take my BP tablet Amlodipine, I opened the pack and new instantly they were wrong .
When I looked at the pack the label said Amlodipine but the box and tablets were Amitriptyline 😱

The pharmacist was shocked when I showed him ,
He apologised profusely and said it should never have happened and they should have been checked,
I said I could understand in a way as they are very similar sounding but what if I had taken one and I was allergic to any of the ingredients.
He agreed and said he would be speaking to his colleagues and thanked me for being so understanding.

From now on I will be checking my meds as I get delivery of them.

Hallo everyone, wet here after a lovely day again yesterday.

Gem, enjoy the lunch with your DD's, it is my GD2 birthday today, I have delivered the voucher and card at 7am!! They were all still in bed, I guessed they would be, DS1 phoned to thank me, he said it was a lovely idea, but, what time did I deliver it? GD2 phoned and thanked me for it, she really appreciated the voucher. They are going to Madurdam this afternoon, miniature Holland, then on to a film followed by a meal, the GD's can always choose what they want to do on their birthdays.

Oma, that was not good receiving the wrong medicines, someone will be spoken to about it!

Daisy, Eva must be worn out after having the doggy visitor.

It was busy at the office this morning, that is with it being just the once now, plus, a young man with an appointment at 9am arrived at 10-30am! That causes a problem.

Oma, Goodness, I bet the Chemist was alarmed that this mistake was made, good job you were wide awake.

Gemini, busy day for you, cooking and babysitting. I hope your DD has an enjoyable birthday celebration.

I quite enjoy a pizza very occasionally, it is like a cheese sandwich to me.

Oma, farm shop sounds good if expensive. Their produce must be good straight from the farm.

Family day yesterday, DD made 2 chillies, one for the veggies. H had a lovely time playing with her cousin who organises the games they play. Latest GS who is growing fast, crawling and pulling himself up. My DD is very relaxed, she makes food and they eat it when they are able.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Oma, it is shocking that they chemists put the wrong tablets in your delivery. I'm sure the pharmacist was extremely grateful you didn't take it any further, as you could have done. I know everyone can (and does) make mistakes, but that could have been serious. It's a good idea to take all the meds out of the bag and check tablets and strength of them.

Liz, your family probably know you're an early bird, but still a surprise that you delivered GD2's card and present so early. I hope she's having a lovely day and enjoying her day. Oh dear, it can cause mayhem when people are so late for appointments. I remember there bine a hairdresser where we used to live. If anyone arrived late for an appointment he wouldn't do their hair! He was a very good and popular hairdresser and people just made sure they got there on time!

Plant, what a lovely day for you all yesterday. All your great-grand children are growing fast, I'm sure, and I bet the youngest can't wait to be mobile to join in with the others. Your DD is great at feeding your large family on these occasions. She must be tired afterwards though.

I have had a busy but productive day. Lots of washing done, there's just the bedding to do tomorrow. I used left-over salmon to make dinner. OH is eating out tonight so he didn't want much. I had a long chat with DS2 - we didn't have chance yesterday. I also got lots of odd jobs done, portioned up some dog food and tidied out the fridge. It was pouring with rain this morning, but it cleared up this afternoon and I took Eva for a fairly long walk. Everywhere was very wet so I ended up going further to avoid the worst of the mud. For the first time for months I got home and was actually hot!

I hope everyone else's day has gone well. xx

I am absolutely shattered. I was awake just after 4,and couldn't get back off.
I'm frozen as well, always am when i'm tired.

Got the bedding out on the line, and it just needed airing off, when i brought it in.

                            Bedrooms cleaned.
All i can think about is getting into a warm bed, with fresh bedding.

Nanto, I do hope you have a better night tonight. I agree - I always feel cold when I'm tired (and it makes me feel ratty, as well!). But you can't beat sinking into a warm bed with clean sheets. Sleep well, and sweet dreams. xx

It does make you feel colder than normal when you are tired , I wonder why that is ?
You will feel better getting into a freshly made bed ,it always feels good doesn't it.

I bet GD thought the voucher was a brilliant idea 😁
It must have been a surprise to wake up to your early morning delivery before everyone was out and about 😁

Your DD sounds like my brother's wife , we always say she can feed the 5000 without batting a eye .
The more children and family around her the better.

B has been advertising his tools and almost all the big ones like chop saws band saws , planers etc have gone today , what the neighbours must be thinking all these vans arriving and large machinery being carried out 😁

His phone has never stopped people wanting things.

We just had chicken breast with Jacket potatoes for tea quick easy and tasty .

We have Storm tomorrow and Wednesday,
DD at a conference in Birmingham and SIL at work,
The same next week she's in Leeds Tuesday and Wednesday, she will. Stay at the flat with GS when she's in Leeds .
