Good morning Nan2, Lizzie and everyone else.

That's a bit of an early start for noisy workmen Lizzie! The car is probably the best option in that weather.

Rain here too, it started yesterday evening.

Daisy, glad you got home safely after your long day.

How are you today Oma, did you go out for the meal?

Aqua for me this morning. I have something to collect from M&S and I will have a browse at the same time. I may write some Christmas cards this afternoon.
    I hope everyone has a good/better week.

Good Monday morning, everyone. The new working week has started with a beautiful sunrise here. There's no rain forecast, so fingers crossed!

Nanto, that cold sounds really nasty. Take care of yourself - I hope hubby is ok too. The cheerful chappie in your graphic made me smile.

Lizzie, you must all be pleased the work on the lifts is over, but even so, that is a very early start. Take care in the rain.

Gem, no coffee after aqua this morning? I need to get on with Christmas cards as well. Days just slip by, don't they.

The memorial service at the hospice yesterday was lovely and very well attended. We were given candles as we arrived and towards the end of the short service we all lit them. As it happened it was a clear day and was still light at 4 o'clock when the service started. The lights were all turned on in the trees and even vapour trails from planes going in and out of Heathrow were lit pink by the setting sun. There were well-known carols, and a couple of poetry readings and solo singers, and the Chaplain spoke briefly. It was beautiful and moving and at one point I found tears rolling down my cheeks as so many emotions came back. We went back to DIL1's and were able to spend some time with the GSs as we won't be seeing them at Christmas. DIL had made a delicious lasagne. We finally got home about 10 o'clock. We'd left Eva at DS2's, so we'll go over and collect her today.

Daisy, the memorial service sounds very moving, not surprised the tears flowed.

The Hospice is in a beautiful location, beside Bray Lake in Berkshire. It has such a peaceful atmosphere and all the staff and volunteers work incredibly hard to make it a source of tranquility and comfort. We will be forever grateful for the care that DS1 received and the support everyone gave to us and DIL. I don't want to get political, but when funding for the hospice movement is being discussed, as it is at present, I feel it's nothing short of scandalous that many hospices are having to cut back on beds or even close because the NHS only provides funding for the medical staff and everything else is down to the individual charity. In the current economic climate many supporters are having to look at their charitable giving very carefully.

This morning started off quite mild, but I've just got in from a walk with Eva and it's gone chilly. This morning I went over to DS2's with a 3-D printer which DIL1 had given to DS2, and to collect Eva. She gave me a good welcome, and so did Cooper. I stayed for a cup of tea and a chat with DS2, and OH had made lunch for when I got home. I've written a few Christmas cards this afternoon, and need to go and decide what to make for dinner.

I hope everyone is feeling a bit better today.

Daisy, i agree with what you say about funding for hospices.

Its turned cold here,i did here on the weather forecast temperatures would drop in our neck of the woods.

Daisy, hospices are so important, it's disgraceful that they don't get more NHS support. There is always a lot of fundraising going on for our local hospice.

Hopefully you will be on the mend tomorrow Nan2.

We haven't heard from Oma today have we?! I hope she is improving too.

I had coffee with my friend at the pool, then ran into another friend in M&S and chatted to her.

This afternoon our next door neighbour and his baby came to see the kittens. She is 15 months old now, and giggled a lot at their antics

                  Night everyone!

I noticed yesterday that we hadn't heard anything from Oma,hope everything is OK.

I think we are getting over our colds a bit now, but if you spoke to hubby, he'd say he isn't, but i can tell he isn't as bad.

Plans for today, hubby is meeting his pal later. No plans for me.

I think I'll do fish in batter, homemade chips and peas for dinner.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

It is certainly the season for bugs and viruses, I hope everyone below par is on the mend soon.

Library for me this morning, presumably GS1 this afternoon. I will write some Christmas cards whilst he is here.

Hoping to hear from Oma, Plant, WG, Grauntie, Mimi and any others MIA, hoping all are well.

Poor Oma is having a rough time She was poorly in bed all day yesterday and couldn't even get up to see GS1 when he came for lunch. The constant cough is making sleep impossible. Get well soon Oma.

                            Good Tuesday morning, everyone.

These colds and bugs seem to be laying everyone low. Dear Oma, I do hope you feel a bit better today, but honestly, don't worry about posting - we just want you to get better again. Big hugs.

The same message to anyone else who is laid low with horrible viruses or other "pooly-ness" . I'm sure there's no such word, but it describes everything.

Nanto, I had to smile at your comment about your OH. It's good to know you are both getting better, though. Dinner sounds very tasty.

Gem, a busy day for you. Is the library keeping busy? It's definitely the time of year to curl up by the fire with a good book. Enjoy seeing GS1.

This is my last free day for this week, so I want to get on with one more load of washing - although I also need to do Eva's bedding as well if I have time. The duster and can of polish are calling me as well. But at least the sun's shining and I'm looking forward to taking Eva out later on.

                            Take care, everyone.

Good morning everyone, poor Oma, I do hope that she feels better soon, it isn't like her to stay in bed is it! DS2 phoned yesterday and he has the coughing etc, he had bronchitis as a child and it still affects him.

I have been to the therpist to borrow a frame, I can't pull my new sleeves on, my hands won't work!! If this works she will order one for me, it does work so I will tell her to order one for me.

I have a double dentist appointment after lunch, one the dentist, the other the mouth hygienist.

I want to hoover through and get the kitchen cupboard doors done, with the low sun everything shows up!!!

Daisy, not much of a free day for you when you are doing washing and polishing furniture.
I know what you meant though.
