Good morning. it is wet and cold here, no snow though, I have just been to the village and have to watch on the corners for the wet leaves.

We went to aqua yesterday, it wasn't our usual young man, this one was good though, anyone would be good after last week!!!

A neighbour opposite, she is in her 80's, had her second knee replacement a few weeks ago, I just her saw out walking with the physio, she is doing really well. A friend in the UK had her second knee done in August, her first one was no bother at all, this one, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong, I do wonder if she will be able to use it at all after all this. She has spent weeks in the hospital, is now home with a brace etc and daily nursing for the wounds etc. Poor woman.

I want to sort a few things out then maybe go to the gym for a while.

Lizzie, a good instructor for any activity makes such a difference. It sounds treacherous on those wet leaves, though. Take care.

I friend of ours, who is 90, had a knee replaced a few months ago and he made an incredibly fast recovery. It seems a bit of a lottery. I hope your friend in the UK is soon feeling better and her knee heals up.

This is what she is going through......

I had a knee replacement in July , I have also started with Lymphoedema , then I got cellulitis x had to go back into hospital for another operation. they replaced part of the knee joint also cut out the infection so have got great big wounds but not enough skin hardly to stitch together, they have said if it doesn't heal it means skin grafts..I have a great brace fitted so I can't bend my knee. Got nurse coming in to dress it also different team coming in regular to fit canula and give me antibiotics, what a carry on.

          Morning everyone

          Lizzie
Your friend sounds very unfortunate poor lady, it must be horrible.

          Daisy
You timed that walk right getting home same time as J 😁

How are you today any better ?
Nanto is right you could have a strain of covid have you taken a test?
Keep warm and take care your not in any draughts , it’s so cold at the moment.

          Nanto
It must have been one of those night for us all , we were downstairs having a cupper about 3.30.
Hot pot is just the job in this weather.

I hope your massage helps , I have shoulder pain a lot not only does it ache but it burns ,
My heat pack gets used a lot 😁

Have the kittens seen the snow ?

We had a dusting of snow but it’s melted now,
GS in Leeds sent a picture last night they have a good covering.

Been to the opticians for another eye scan to check the progress of my 3 eye bleeds ,
They are healing well she said no need to do anything else.

We then shopped at Sainsburys while we were there , mostly fruit and veg ,
The shelves are a bit sparse in the fruit department and not much better in the veg isles either.

Its bitter cold out so I’m not sure we will be doing much else today
My hip and back still causing trouble so I’m not pushing myself.

Oma, that's good news about your eye bleeds. Thank goodness the optician is happy with your progress. I'm sorry you're still in so much pain though. I guess we're all getting older (and me older than most!). It doesn't take much to disrupt supplies in Sainsbury's, I've found.

Lizzie, your poor friend. That all sounds horrible and it seems one problem creates another and another. She must be in a lot of discomfort and thoroughly fed up.

I got quite a few odd jobs done today. I gave the 4 orchids in the kitchen some TLC, cleaned and tidied a shelf that had just become a dumping ground by the back door and pushed the sucky up thing round upstairs.

I took Eva out just after 3 o'clock and it was bitterly cold. I put Eva's fleece on her and I wore an ancient waxed jacket that I thought would be good against the cold wind, but it wasn't really windy, just freezing cold so the jacket didn't help much!

I think we need something nice and warming for our teas tonight.

Oma, good news from the optician.

By heck, its certainly cold tonight.

Daisy, like you, i got a few jobs done today.
Washed a load of towels and t-towels. Didn't hang them outside though.
              Then, just general housework.

I had my GD1 doing my housework this morning, I kept having to move around so she could get on. I have felt quite achy today, can’t get rid of this virus. I did wonder if I should do a Covid test but I have only just had a vaccination. GD1’s OH likes making Christmas cakes so I suggested he use my kitchen. He has the fruit soaking and is coming in tomorrow to finish it off. GD1 has been offered a job in our local cafe on the green on Fridays. DD and Sil will take H to nursery and fetch her later. Her speech isn’t getting much better, the school have suggested a hearing test. We had quite a bit of snow overnight and this morning, unexpected really. All gone now.

Your house wll smell amazing with the cake cooking tomorrow 😁
well done GD a little job will help money wise.
If little H has a problem with her ears when they are tested that would account for her speech not being great at the moment.

Hope you start to feel better soon , it’s awful when you feel so unwell.xxx

Nanto, I did a couple of loads of washing as well. I didn't realise how much it had piled up.

Plant, you must have been glad the snow didn't last long. GD1 has done well to find herself a job, and she doesn't have to worry about H with your DD and SIL doing the nursery runs. It's definitely worth H having a hearing test as soon as possible, although children's speech often develops in fits and starts. Our DS2 hardly said a word at first, and then just odd words then one day it was as though a switch had been flicked and he started speaking in whole sentences, grammatically correct, using words we thought he didn't know. I think he was about 3 when that happened.

I love the smell of Christmas cake - the trouble is you want to start eating it straight away.

I cooked a sausage casserole tonight - the first time I've made one. I had cooked sausages in the fridge, so I found a recipe that started with "first cook the sausages"! It was quite nice, but could have done with a bit more seasoning.

Its a bitterly cold morning, but i think its forecast to get a bit milder at the weekend.

Plant, can't do any harm for H to have her ears tested.
Well done for GD getting a job.

Gem, how is GS since his operation?

WG, how are you getting on?

I'm going to see if I can make a bit of room in the big freezer for some fruit crumbles.

Homemade corned beef and onion pie for dinner, with mash, veg and gravy.

Off to do the ironing now.

                        Good morning everyone.
It's minus 1 here just now. I must allow time to defrost my windscreen!

Lizzie, that poor lady. It sounds as though she has been very unlucky.

Oma, I'm glad the optician news was positive.

These viruses linger on Plant. The Christmas cake smell will be a nice addition today.

Nan2, GS1's ears are good now thanks. He is fully adjusted to the louder sounds! I certainly hope we will return to milder weather soon.

I like sausage casserole Daisy, and haven't had or made it for a long time.

Aqua this morning, then my monthly back massage this afternoon. Tesco delivery late afternoon, so that's my day.
                        Keep warm ladies.

My late sister didn’t say a word till she was 3 my parents had her to the Dr and he said she will talk in her own time and she did eventually ,
Our Dr said she was lazy, he was right there also she was lazy all her life 🤣

we had corned beef pie the other night ,
B put a big piece in the freezer for his Mam as she doesn’t make stuff like that now.

Was up early so I have gone through downstairs , washed door handles, polished dusted and B hoovered,
I then disinfected my work tops,
Did a dark wash it’s all been tumbled ready to iron.

B made Chicken noodle soup yesterday it was amazing , enough for lunch today a a pot in the freezer for MIL.

Hes off to Hospital for blood tests on his kidneys,
He was there a couple of weeks ago and the function is down to 26%
They gave him medication to try to preserve them so needed a blood test today to see if the meds are working,
It will be a few days before the results come in.

Im having a quick few minutes on here then I’m off to dust the bedrooms , to be fair they not really dirty so won’t take long.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone. It's cold and frosty here, but the sun's come out now. I hope it warms up a bit.

Nanto, the fruit crumbles sound yummy. Are you making different varieties? I hope there wasn't too much ironing waiting for you.

Gem, sausage casserole is good for this cold weather. It's good to hear GS1's ears have adjusted to the new sounds he's hearing. I do hope it helps with his return to school. Has he said anything about it? I remember you saying the massage leaves you feeling a bit sore but it's worth it afterwards, so I hope today's goes well. Are the changing rooms at the pool nice and warm?

Oma, you have been a busy bee already this morning. Your MIL is a lucky lady to have such tasty meals delivered to her. Good luck to B at the hospital. It's horrible waiting for blood test results, but I hope they bring good news and the medication is helping. Sending hugs.

It's dog training day for me, but OH isn't playing cars today. He's repairing two wooden slatted garden chairs. The sort that have wrought iron sides. The slats were looking worse for wear and some were loose so he'd taken them apart, drilled new holes for the screws and sanded them. He's then going to treat them with oil and tuck them away for the winter. We should have nice smart chairs in the Spring.

Morning ladies from a chilly Bucks!
Will update you on my progress later, just haven’t felt like posting!
Plant, it sounds like you have the same as my DD. She’s been off work, most unlike her, feeling washed out, sore throat, sore ears and spending most of the day in bed. She’s tested and it’s not COVID. I haven’t seen her for nearly a week as she doesn’t want to pass it on! My DS is a bit upset because he doesn’t think he’ll see her again before he goes back on Sunday!
Off to do my exercises and then begin the pantomime of getting washed and dressed! Just as well there’s no cameras in my bedroom 😁
Have a good day ladies and keep warm xx

WG, no wonder you haven't felt like posting much. I know the round of exercises and painkillers etc is exhausting in itself! Every day is one day forward xx

                                Happy dog training Daisy!
The changing rooms aren't too bad, but I get my big towel from my locker and around my shoulders straight away before walking to the cubicle!

Oma I hope it's good news from today's results for B.

Off for my massage soon, see you again later
