    Good morning everyone.

Nan2, a good meal choices for this time of year.

This morning we are going to look at a small unit for sale on FB Marketplace. We have been trying to find something to fit a specific space and haven't managed so far.
    Tesco delivery this afternoon.

    Have a good day ladies.

      Good Monday morning everyone.

Plant, how is your GD today?

Nanto, eggs, chips and peas is fantastic comfort food. Thank you for the cheery flower graphic this morning. Flowers always make a good picture.

Oma, oh dear, your neighbour is such a worry. I do wish they could help her to stay on her meds. It must be awful for her as well as her family and all of you neighbours. I bet Storm is having a fantastic time being spoiled to bits. Did he have lots of Christmas presents?

Gem, good luck with the unit - I hope it's what you're looking for. I'm sure your GS loves his outings with you, and as you say, it give him and his mum a break.

Clover, I'm another traditionalist for twelfth night, but sometimes adjust by a day or so depending on the time of week. We never put our decorations up very early though, so we don't get too fed up with them. I love it when we put them up and the house looks all Christmassy, but I love it when we taken them down as well and get back to normal!

I had another bad night last night. I hadn't taken any painkillers but obviously should have done. My own fault! But I can potter round the house today and it already feel a bit better for moving around.

When GS1 was little (he's now 21) we bought a traditional, old-fashioned Haddon rocking horse. Our sons had loved their cousins' horse when they were little, and we thought it would be lovely for our GCs to have the same. Well, it has been well-loved and used by all 4 GCs but even GD2 is too big and heavy for it now. So sadly it's going to be rehomed tomorrow. It needs a bit of TLC, but we have the hair for a new mane and tail. We've even got a little proper saddle for it. So it will be sad to see it dismantled and taken downstairs today and collected tomorrow. But I have to say, I shall be glad of the space.

Daisy I can understand the feeling of sadness to see the rocking horse leave, but being glad to have the space! We feel that way every time the cot is dismantled and goes up into the loft. OH was keen to get rid of it once GS2 outgrew it. It's good job I didn't agree as along came GS3

Take it easy today. As you say moving helps to avoid stiffening up. Definitely take painkillers tonight though xx

The unit was a small dressing table. We have tried lots of shops and nothing was the right size. This was perfect. OH bought me very big and lovely dressing table mirror with lights all around it for Christmas. This is to go with it. For the first time since we have lived here I will have a dressing table! It is in my ex therapy room not my bedroom but that is fine. We are going to ask our next door neighbour to help get it upstairs but they are out at the moment.

          Morning ladies

          Daisy
You must be worn out and really uncomfortable, are the boys staying today or going home?
After they go get yourself a nana nap try to catch up with your sleep. How are you managing with Eva's walks?
Storm has been very spoilt this year as usual 😄
I loved that rocking horse. 😁

I hope the unit is suitable , it's difficult to find something when you have a awkward space isn't it.Pleased to hear GS enjoyed himself yesterday.

          Nanto
We had chips egg and beans on Saturday , although I'm not keen on eggs it's ok with beans .

Never stopped since getting up ,
I've cleaned through taken the tree down and B hoovered through,
The tree is so heavy it took two of use virtually sitting on the bag to get the zip closed ,
We took it upstairs on the chair lift 😄 it's in the bedroom at the moment till we get the strength to haul it into the loft.

Everything back to normal just the outside lights to come down.

Dog walker came at 10 so we went to see to cats and fish open curtains etc
Came back and flopped onto the chair I'm exhausted now.

DD text all their phones died yesterday and the charger adapters they took don't work in Switzerland so they had to go out and find a shop to buy the appropriate ones.

Waiting for dog walker to get back ,
Storm will go wild we have a family of squirrels on the fence and shed , they don't look in a hurry to move .
He has no chance of catching them but he has a good try.
To be honest if he did catch one he wouldn't know what to do with it 🤣🤣

          Gem
Pleased you got the dressing table , you can be all glamm now 😁❤️

Phew Oma, you must be feeling better! Time for a rest after all that work

DD1 had a slight nut allergy reaction last night and had to use her epipen. She didn't check all the ingredients on a box of chocolates. As soon as she bit into it she could tell so ingested very little. She then got little sleep due to the adrenalin from the injection.
I buy her bars of nice chocolate or Terry's chocolate oranges, boxes of chocolates are too risky.

Daisy, take care of that shoulder, don’t over do it. How lovely for your GC to have a traditional rocking horse.

Oma, decorations down and almost back to normal. I bet Storm is being spoilt staying with you. When is the family back?

Gemini, Is it only nuts your DD is allergic to? Best not to eat chocolates from a mixed lot I suppose. Walnuts are not good for me, they make my mouth and tongue itch.

GD1 is feeling well enough now to go to the cinema with her sister and mother to see Wicked.

Nanto, Chicken Kiev for my dinner today, can’t say I feel like it yet. I might later, I eat my main meal about 6pm

I'm so much better just tired easily so have to sit and rest for 5 minutes in-between jobs 😀
Poor DD you have to be so careful with a nut allergy, they can be in the most unexpected things.
                Hope she's recovered today xx

                Plant
                They come back on Friday.
I think you must be careful if walnuts do that , you should keep a pack of antihistamines in just incase.

Plant we always have our main meal between 5-5.30 unless we are going out to eat 😁

I have just been upstairs to clean windows and mirrors,
Went back into our room and here is Storm flat out on our bed , cushions on the floor his head on my pillow.

He knows he isn't allowed on the bed because of his shedding , never bothers during night to get on the spare bed and I thought he would take the opportunity, and I have put a throw on that just incase he does.
No he messes my bed instead the little devil . Just as well I love him 😂

Sorry you had another bad night Daisy.
Sad that the rocking horse has to go.

Gem, glad you got the dressing table.
About 3 years ago, we wanted a new pair of bedside tables.
We trawled every shop that sold furniture, but couldn't get any like we wanted.
Hubby came across some on ebay, the exact style we wanted. Still have them now.

Nanto, sometimes it seems the shops are full of goodies, but not the exact item you want. Glad you found your bedside tables eventually.

It is a bit sad about the rocking horse, but I'd much rather it was played with than just gathered dust on our landing.

Gem, that dressing table mirror sounds very glamorous. Does that mean you will be able to sit down to do your hair/makeup/whatever?

Oma, Storm just wanted to be close to you even though you weren't actually in bed!! Dogs just seem to have a natural instinct to make the most mess they can!

I did a bit of hoovering upstairs this morning - and emptied an overflowing bin in my study where the GSs slept. How on earth can they generate so much rubbish in not much more than 24 hours!

Then I had a rest after lunch before taking Eva out. Although my side is still really painful walking is ok, and probably better than sitting down. I let Eva decide where to go and she chose a path I thought would be too muddy, but it was OK. We ended up walking into the village and back along an unmade track.

                            Good morning.

Hubby meeting his pal this morning, so I'm going with him. We'll part company, then meet up after for coffee.
I don't need much, but just fancy a couple of hours out.
Checked both freezers and I haven't got any gammon or braising steak, so I'll pick some up from the butchers.

Daisy, sounds like you had a lovely walk with Eva.

Homemade cottage pie for dinner. Took it out of the freezer yesterday. Just needs cooking in the air fryer.

According to the weather forecast there is some bad weather on it's way.
Heard on the news that hogmanay is cancelled in Edinburgh because of the bad weather.

Good morning everyone, the last of the year.

Nan2 I heard about the Edinburgh celebrations being cancelled. It's a big thing there, so a lot of disappointed people I'm sure.

Daisy yes I will be able to sit down What passes as a dressing table in my bedroom is set of drawers almost as tall as I am so not ideal.
                              How are you this morning?

Aqua for me this morning, I feel ready for some exercise after all the sitting around and eating! Our usual instructors dont start back until next Monday, but there are couple of classes this week with stand in instructors.

Our usual New Years Eve bash tonight so the rest of the day will be preparing for that.
Only 8 of us tonight which is a nice manageable number. The most we have had is 13 one year and it's usually 10 or 11, so 8 will seem easy
OH is making chicken in tarragon sauce. Our vegetarian friend cant make it this year so no veggie option needed. I will make mash, and the annual Jamie Oliver mulled wine. We will a serve selection of veg. We have a raspberry trifle and fresh raspberries, and have said anyone is welcome to bring an alternative dessert if they like.

                              Happy New Year's Eve everyone.
