Sorry I haven’t checked in today. I felt very unwell this morning and was sick. Rang surgery and had a telephone conversation with a doctor, she has prescribed an antibiotic, fingers crossed. . Tomorrow I have to take a sample.to be tested.

Nanto, after today, I doubt my ability to learn to crochet! I was all fingers and thumbs, but was very tired and not concentrating. GD1 has left me with notes and diagrams and has said she'll do a slow video of the stitch she was trying to teach me, if I can't manage. She's actually a very good and patient teacher, but she was let down by her pupil today! I'm sure your DS1 will make sure everyone stays safe.

Gem, we've had lots of heavy showers today as well. Summer already feels like a distant memory.

Daisy, I can neither knit nor sew but at school we had a lunch time crocheting craze when I was about 12. I was surprisingly good at it! I haven't tried since and doubt I would be now.

Little E day today, golf for OH. They only play a fun 9 holes on Thursdays generally, not a competition.

We had heavy rain overnight, and heavy showers this morning, but the sun's out now, so I might try and get some washing done. At least the garden doesn't need watering with this mixed weather. . No other plans for us today, and it's nice to have a day of doing nothing much.

No golf for OH!
It's called the Roll Up and they make teams of 3 or 4 from whoever turns up. The average numbers vary between 6 and 16, maybe more.
Today no one was booked on! OH oversees this and asks someone else to step in if she can't. No one to arrange into teams today ,so she won't be going.
I think rain is forecast this afternoon and she is playing at the weekend so I don't think she minds much!

We have just had rain, like its never rained before. The heavens certainly opened up.

I got the last of the apples sorted and in the freezer. W e don't need anymore.

Hallo everyone, we just had the one shower yesterday, more rain forecast for next week I think. We did have a lot of wind yesterday afternoon, there was a beach concert in Scheveningen with UB40 and it was cancelled

I have just fallen off my bed end. There is not much room between my bed end and the wall, just enough for me to walk through, I was measuring something on my bed (flat), thought I had sat on the end, I hadn't, I fell between the bed and the wall, I was well and truly stuck!!! I thought to either phone M next door of the fire brigade to come and free me!! After I calmed down and realised nothing was broken, I squeezed myself down to the floor, I was still stuck though, so , slowly but surely I wriggled out and managed to stand up, not easy with my knee's but I did it!!!

No Nanto, no Oma as yet, I hope all went well for her yesterday.

Daisy, I have tried to crochet time and time again, I can knit to perfection, many years ago my MIL tried to teach me to crochet, over the years a few more tries, just last year with the help of YouTube, but, no, not for me!!!

It is a year ago tomorrow that my friend died, time certainly does speed by!!

Just managed to find time to come on now and realised my mistake ,
Honestly I think I need the memory test 😁

It's been a busy day one way or another I seem to be catching myself coming back.
I ended up with a bit of a headache so me and Storm went on a lovely long walk to clear my head .
We are just back and he has crashed out.

Dog walked cats and fish seen too so I can relax now ,

I decided this morning to empty everything out of all my kitchen cupboards this morning and reorganized them, that led onto the drawers and the fridge then under the stairs and my utility room cupboards.

It's always the same you start one job and it snowballs.

Then just as I was knee deep in cleaning the utility cupboards a friend called,
So by the time we had a cup of tea and a chat and she left I had to set too again.

I have a huge bag of cooking apples to sort,
When we went to see to DDs cats her neighbour came over with a full carrier bag full from her tree.

My screening went fine no worries, they will write to me about the eye x-ray but looks like it's the same as last year plus I'm seeing Dr at the Eye infirmary at the end of the year anyway.

Oma, what a busy, full-on day you had. You certainly needed that walk in the fresh air, and I don't suppose Storm minded! Once you break off from a job like cleaning cupboards out it's hard to get back to them. I'd have just bunged everything back in and saved the job for another day. So glad you screening went well, one less thing to worry about.

Lizzie, what a awful thing to happen to you. You did well not to panic, but even so you must have felt shaken, to say nothing of your poor knees. I hope they are ok now. You are great at knitting and needlework, making all those clothes, so I think you can be excused crotchet skills as well. I'm still looking for a skill I might be reasonably ok at - my ambitions are very low level - so I keep trying different things. It will be a poignant day for your tomorrow, with your friend's anniversary. Sending hugs, and hoping you can focus on happy memories, which is what she would wish for you, I'm sure. xxx

Nanto, we've had a couple of ferocious downpours as well today. As you say, rain like we've never seen before. Those apples in the freezer will come in very handy through the winter.

Gem, if you had rain like Nanto and us today, S certainly wouldn't have been playing golf. I hope she wasn't too disappointed, and as you say, there's the week-end to look forward to.

I got one load of washing out on the line. Then the clouds came over and I got it in - it was virtually dry - and then it poured with rain a couple of minutes later. I cooked dinner at lunch time - OH was busy with paperwork. I did the pork chops, but had no apple sauce, so I chopped up a couple of eating apples and added lemon juice and a bit of sugar. A few minutes on the hob to soften them, and it tasted ok. Not the right texture though. OH is just making us a sandwich for tea, and we have some crumpets left over from yesterday. It's definitely the end of summer, when I start fancying crumpets.

DD and family landed on LA at 1 am then 3 hours in customs so they had a few hours sleep then went out for something to eat, DD said they were going back to the hotel when SIL started to laugh and said look at your feet.
She had been out in two different flip flops 🤣🤣

Oma,GS2 went back to school yesterday, GD the week before, GS1 is still being home schooled.

We had a nice day with GS3. One of his favourite games recently is asking what we want from the shops, then taking the baby walker,as his trolley, to the kitchen. He then comes back with the imaginary items. It can go on for ages
We played in the garden this morning and collected a lot of fallen apples. It rained heavily this afternoon, but he spends a lot of the afternoon napping anyway.
They are heading Daisy's way on holiday on Monday, so we won't see him next week.

Cold but bright.
Been to see to the animals just waiting for dog walker.
Nothing planned as such.
B coming down with yet another cold.
Just spoke to my niece who had the hip operation a few months ago, she had her left knee done yesterday ,
She didn't sleep well last night, pain management wasn't in place as she hadn't gone down to surgery till late afternoon/evening time.
Hopefully she will get it sorted soon.
