Today has got cooler and cooler with the wind. It was still sunny though. We sat outside with a drink just before tea time and I put a cardigan on, because it was hard to tell if the sun was burning or not. OH dead headed the rambling/climbing rose (I don't know which it is) as it was too high for me - he was struggling to reach even at the top of the ladder. I cut the lawn and trimmed the edges, but didn't feel like doing anything else. The tomatoes will have to wait till tomorrow, and it was too windy to sweep the patio so that can wait too.

Some friends rang this morning and asked if we fancied a quick coffee - which we did! It was lovely to see them, and we enjoyed putting the world to rights.

OH is just making our tea, so I'd better go!

      Hello everyone.

We arrived early afternoon, came over to the airport hotel and had a couple of hours sleep.
We set our alarm and had showers and are in the hotel bar now about to eat.
I think we will have no trouble going back to sleep once we have settled out meals down

Gem, welcome back. I hope you both sleep well after your long journey. Safe trip home tomorrow. xxx

Oma, we just had a sandwich, J had cooked salmon, new potatoes and vegetables for dinner/lunch, so we weren't that hungry. At the moment, I'd rather have a cooked meal in the middle of the day, rather than at night if possible.

I'e just walked Eva and am now more than ready for bed. Night, night everyone. xxx

Good morning. Its a lot cooler.

            Gem,welcome back to Blighty.
Have a safe journey home later.

We were planning on doing some gardening this morning, but it probably won't be dry enough after last night's heavy downpour.

Gammon and pineapple for dinner today.
Hubby doesn't want his egg and chips every week, in case he gets fed up of it.

              Morning Nanto, ladies

              It's cooler but bright,
              Wasn't as stuffy last night.

Hope you woke feeling refreshed, safe journey back to York xx

              Did you sleep well ?
Sometimes it's better to have a mid day meal when you feel like that as by the evening your too tired to eat.
Take your time with things today, one day on one day off 😁

I think we might go to Farm foods today ,
I was up early so everything sorted,
I did manage to pull the rings out of the rail when I had a shower ,
I pulled the curtain too hard so B is up there re hanging it.
I hate shower curtains but being a wet room and the size of the bathroom we have no choice.

              Nanto
I went for gammon steaks at the farm shop the other day , they didn't have any.
He said give me 20 minutes Jo the butcher has just gone up to the house but we didn't have time to wait .
I will get some next time ,
              I hope enjoy yours.

                Good Monday morning, everyone.

Nanto, I don't know why but that decorative mug has made me fancy a coffee! You can get tired of foods you have regularly, can't you. OH was cooking gammon steaks when our last Sainsburys order was delivered, ad the young lady driver stood on the doorstep like one of the Bisto kids wondering what we were cooking as it smelled delicious! At least you won't have to water your garden tonight.

Oma, You don't know your own strength, pulling the shower curtain like that. I hope you get everything you want at Farm Foods. Yes, I know you're right about trying to pace myself better, but I see something that needs doing and can't rest till I've done it. Today I really must tie in the tomatoes. It's quite windy and they'll blow over if I don't.

Gem, I hope you slept well last night. Safe journey back. xxx

                  Good morning everyone.

We are at Kings Cross on board our train which is leaving in a couple of minutes.
The tube journey was much cooler than last time, which was a relief.
I got a reasonable amount of sleep last night, OH got more. We will aim to stay awake now until 10ish if we can

Didn't get to farm foods we went to M&S instead,
B wanted to get the car washed.

I've just done the two bedrooms and bathroom,
To be honest they were clean, but with the windows being open day and night they do get dust blowing in ,
                      Anyways they are done.

Hallo everyone, much cooler today, thankfully! It is very windy though, I went with GD1 to wave GD2 off on her trip to Praag, it was so windy. I must say it was all very well organised! The bus was very modern, tinted windows, air co etc etc, the driver was so friendly, they will have a good few days there.

DS1 and DIL are on their way home, home about 8 this evening, it depends on the traffic round Antwerp. They have had a great few days and really enjoyed the festival.

Gem, you should be home now, I do hope that you can soon get back into your routine.

Oma, I only have a small shower room, most have curtains, I have a wall to separate the shower from the rest, perfect!

I came home from doing coffee this morning, doing a few things here, there was the loudest bang! A fuse had blown, normally it is just the switch that needs resetting, not this time, would it as #### as like work! I phoned the housing and got a young lady on the phone, she explained it all to me, what it could be etc, I was pulling plugs out etc, nothing worked, then she told me that if the electrician had to come because it was something I had done, it would cost a fortune!!! By this she was explaining it all, in the end I switched everything off, mains etc etc, lo and behold it worked!! I thanked her for being so helpful, she was as well. It was a battery charger that had caused the problem, at least I think it was as it isn't working now.

I didn't go to aqua, it is no use to me with this weather, I can't get my compression on after swimming, I have to wait too long, I had the most awful pain in my legs last week from it so I decided not to go today, I got messages from the 2 ladies from the block that I usually go with, with it being windy they were expecting me to go in the car so they were disappointed that I didn't go, neither of them went either, they both have E bikes so no problem there.

I won't be late going to bed, I have a "hangover' from the heat!

                          Thanks, yes we are home

Cats are being a bit cool with us but will hopefully forgive us soon! We have never left them even for one night before, so it was probably a bit of a shock! They were well looked after and looked happy in all the photos and videos we were sent

Ready meal from the freezer for tea with fresh veg. I need to stay awake to book aquafit at 10pm, but will plan sleep soon after that.
I will catch up and update my holiday thread over the next couple of days.

Gem, i'm sure the cats will forgive you.

Very windy here and cooler than the past few days.
Had a bit of sun this afternoon,so had tea and cake in the garden.

Oma, we did enjoy our gammon today.

Lizzie, it was the same here today - windy and much cooler, then the sun came out early evening and the wind dropped. I'm glad your DS and DIL enjoyed their trip to the UK and the festival. It sounds as though GD2 and her friends are travelling in style. That bang must have been frightening, but well done on getting it sorted out. What a shame the hot weather means you can't go to your aqua class, but trying to get compression garments back on must be impossible.

Gem, welcome home. I'm sure both cats will soon be "talking" to you again, but as you said, it's the first time you've left them, so they are perhaps a bit confused.

Nanto, cake in the garden sounds lovely, and so does the gammon.

Oma, I hope you got some nice goodies from M&S. It's awful how much dust blows in through open windows and doors. I leave our kitchen door open mot of the time in the summer and really notice how dusty the kitchen table gets, and with being glass it shows up!

I did get the tomatoes tied up and removed all the side shoots this afternoon. I had a long catch up with DIL1 who has just got back from her holiday. Both GSs are now better, although GS2 has still got a slight cough.

Good morning. It's just started raining and it's quite heavy.
I don't think I'll be able to cut the grass.
                                No good worrying about it.
I suppose I'll find something else to do.

Sausage, mash, veg and gravy for dinner. Might do some onion rings as well.
